Lost Legacies - Chapter 3: Chapter 3: "Identity Card"

While Hugh was looking at his tattoo he heard something near the bushes he instinctively took a Offensive stance he was surprised at his own reaction, (Wh-What how do i know this stance)Hugh frowned at how his body reacted in this situation.

Hugh got back his attention to the bush, he was sweating profusely But what he expected didn’t happen instead of a monster coming out of a the bush its was a few people dressed in rough armor while some of them had all kinds of weapons like spears bows and guns most of them where using swords.

Hugh was still tense and did not relax a tad bit “Huh …. what is a kid doing around here, answer us ?” one of the man said in the group, he seemed the group commander he was frowning and confused at why a kid would be here in the middle of the forest .

Hugh was thinking of an answer when all of a sudden ;Ghuuuuuauuuuuu; he heard a monstrous wail

and he felt the ground tremble from behind him 100 meters away , all the people in the group seemed to get tense “Kid, run away from here to the nearest village” one of the guy said to him “Which direction is the nearest village” asked Hugh,”its 2 km to East just go in that direction” the man showed him whit his hand where to go ,Hugh wasn’t an idiot he knew that he would be a burden to the group so he just left.

(What the fu** was that) thought Hugh while running away from that place its can be said that he was in a mountainous region full of forests and rivers its has already been 2 hours and he made 1 and half km to his destination he began to see asphalt roads and some bad roads as well

(I’m tiiiired and i still don’t know how i got into that forest) thought Hugh.

(I’m gonna lie down here for a lil nap) thought Hugh tiredly after waking up he noticed that he did’t just take a nap he slept like 12 h (Well it doesn’t matter lets continue)Hugh left whit a fresh face.

Hugh started walking again until he saw a town (i thought this is a village) its was confusing because what he saw wasn’t a village but a town full of beautiful houses.

he saw some guards patrolling whit some guns and other weapons on their waists Hugh still didn’t know what to do ….. he just stood there watching the stall owners talking to each other who’s gonna win today match “Hmmm ?” one of the stall owners saw Hugh starring at them “hey kiddo , you new to town huh ?” Hugh observed that he was starring at them and looked away “Uhhh yeah can you help me ?”Hugh asked embarrassed.

“What’s the problem kid ?” the stall owner asked “Can you tell me where i could make myself an identification card ?”The owner was surprised at first but still answered”You can make one at the Guild in the middle of a town” the owner just showed him whit his finger where to go

The owner was a little surprised that the kid didn’t have a comunicator (Well no one is born into a decent family nowadays) thought the owner.

Hugh Saw a huge building in the middle of the town he entered it and was welcomed by some receptionists and a robotic looking pedestal that had a hologram on top of it its seemed some kind of news communication device Hugh went near a reception desk that had near it a weird button that wrote “push” he pushed the button and a holographic lady came in front of him “hello how may i help you ?”asked the hologram its was weird to Hugh to talk to holograms he never saw anything like this so he asked “Can you help me get an identification card ?”.

“Sir you just need to give a drop of blood and 1000 credits please”Asked the holographic lady

Hugh was surprised so he asked “What are credits ?”

“Credits are the currency you can make credits by killing Monsters , exploring and giving away dangerous locations coordinates ,or by finding and selling medicinal plants” said the holographic lady.

Hugh was thinking about the guys he met “i see so that why they where powerful because they hunted monsters”Hugh found enlightenment and thought (but i’m still weak)

instead of going hunting monsters or being near them he thought he had a pretty good eyesight for little objects so he thought of going to find medicinal plant but first he needs to know which are good so he gotta go to the library “can you tell me where the library is ?”

“the library from the guild is near the guild , after you exit just go to your left and go 100 meters forward”said the holographic lady.

As he went where the receptionist said he found an old looking building he entered it and found some people in it “Phew it good that i don’t need to pay for entering” Hugh was glad because he doesn’t have any money on him and he would need to go and ask around for money like a beggar

he went near an old man and asked politely “Sir can you please tell me where i could find the medicinal books ?” the old man liked the kid in front of him because he called him sir not old granpa “yeah just go to the 3 line over there , that’s full of books for medicine and plants”the old man showed whit his finger where the 3 line was.

After Choosing some books called “Poisonous plants encyclopedia” , “Magical PLants” , “Medicinal pants Encyclopedia” he got a seat and started reading the poisonous one The book started by saying “all plants can be poisonous but even poisonous plants can be medicine” he started reading the 1 page that had a lot of information about what poison is and how to spot the more common poisonous plants like the “Armageddon Mushroom” that had a blue appearance on the hat but under it had little red dots or the “Whale flower” that is more common near dead whales on the coastlines

Hugh was mesmerized about the poison books content in fact he was so mesmerized that he forgot to look at the hour that its was already night time “ohh man i forgot that i don”t have anywhere to live”.

well i was surprised on how many of you guys read my novel .. i mean idk if you guys will still read this

new novel i’m still trying to make everything alright and i know that i lack certain aspects of world building

so i Apologize for some weird things where i don’t explain certain things TT i made this chapter 1000 words so i think it be longer than last time
