Love History Caused by Willful Negligence - CH 7
“What. What kind of wind came to the office?”
Seeing Lee Wooyeon sitting on the sofa, CEO Kim Hakseung frowned as if he saw something he couldn’t believe.
“I came here to say hello after a long time.”
“What else are you looking at?”
“Manager’s resume.”
“What? Who is it?”
“Mr. Choi Inseop.”
“Why him? What is wrong with him? What are you going to do?! You!”
“What am I doing? If other people hear that, they will misunderstand, CEO.”
These words were not false. Lee Wooyeon didn’t do anything. The new manager was surprisingly quick to adapt. As if to prove that he was a fan, he didn’t do anything that Wooyeon hated or offended him. He prepares his favorite food every morning and often listens to music on the way home from work. He usually drinks black, but he also knew that he liked lattes when it rained.
His eye for choosing clothes was good enough to get admiration from the coordinator. He picked out clothes that would suit Lee Wooyeon perfectly. In addition, when Lee Wooyeon was not in a good mood, he had a sense of quickly stepping back.
It was perfect. It was so perfect that it didn’t feel good.
“Why are you looking at Inseop’s resume?”
“He’s someone I work with, so it’s natural to have questions.”
“Of course you would say that. Have you ever seen a manager’s resume at least once in the past?”
“So, can’t I take a look?”
Lee Wooyeon turned over Choi Inseop’s self-introduction letter without raising his head and asked. He often revealed his personality in the past in front of CEO Kim since he was found out about his trashy personality
“There’s nothing wrong with it, but…”
“Okay then.”
Lee Wooyeon meticulously scanned Choi Inseop’s resume.
“Why? What is the problem?”
“It does not matter.”
“However?”
“There’s not much, so that’s the problem.”
“If there is a problem, they leave, even if they don’t, you have a problem. What the hell are you? Aigoo.”
CEO Kim Hakseung made a sound of sickness and sat on the sofa opposite Lee Wooyeon. Even today, Lee Wooyeon smiled brightly as he looked at his attire with a t-shirt showing his charm from head to toe.
“CEO, you should’ve been a celebrity.”
“Me? I did it before. Modelling.”
“Really?I didn’t know.”
“… okay. what would you know? You have no interest in others.”
“That’s not true. I am also very interested in other people.”
“Right. You’re a good actor. You’re lying through your teeth.”
While listening to Kim Hakseung’s speech, Lee Wooyeon read Choi In-seop’s resume again.
“Why? Choi Inseop was selected by me myself, but there was nothing special.”
“Yes. According to the resume, that’s true.”
Choi Inseop on his résumé looked ordinary enough to set the standard for men in Korea. The second son among two sons and one daughter. Born in Seoul, graduated from a four-year program in Seoul. TOEIC was 800 and went to the U.S. for language training for a while.
“Isn’t it a waste to be a manager?”
“Because getting a job these days is like picking stars in the sky. There are people who learn to work here and then start a management company.”
“Is Choi Inseop that type of person?”
He could not have imagined that meek and quiet man running a business.
“No. He’s not that type, um… that’s a bit odd. It’s not bad though. How’s work? Are you doing well?”
“Yes.”
“Okay. Treat him well. Because he seems like a good guy. And while you’re here, look at the script that came in and go.”
“A script? Wasn’t that what the representative chose?”
Since CEO Kim Hakseung’s eye for selecting works was different, it had been a long time since Lee Wooyeon handed over the decision-making authority to him.
“There are a lot of good things. What do you think would be good?”
“The villain.”
Lee Wooyeon replied with a smile. CEO Kim refused.
“No. If you do that, your temper will come out and it’s so scary. I’m sure a few quick-witted people will notice your filthy temper.”
Lee Wooyeon, who has a soft image, wanted to play a vicious villain. Each time, CEO Kim Hakseung firmly shook his head.
It was so real, he argued, that his true form would come out at times.
“If you only play a role that is too good, your image gets boring. How about this? Serial killer. I think it will be fun.”
Lee Wooyeon said while picking up the script that CEO Kim had rejected and cast aside.
“…Because it suits you so much.”
“Hahaha. Representative. Who am I going to kill? Isn’t this ok, too? A psycho who falls madly in love with the female lead. Killer.”
“Don’t be a murderer. After you do that, only killer roles will keep coming in. All ads will be gone.”
“What if I made enough money, but the ads ran out?”
“That’s enough. Don’t say nonsense, pick one of these.”
CEO Kim Hakseung pushed the script he had chosen to Lee Wooyeon. Lee Wooyeon, who was scanning the cover of the script, picked up one of them.
“This will be good. The producer and the writer are fine. It’s a period drama, so I think the reaction will be good.”
“Right. It seemed fine to me too. I heard that this writer wants to work with you and send the script first.”
“Do you believe in those kinds of words? Unlike Manager Kim, you are naive.”
Even if the script went back to another actor and was rejected, the writer would always say that he was thinking of you and writing it out.
“Hey. Who do you think the rumor wouldn’t be heard? It’s true. You always doubt what people say.”
“Please. I don’t mind.”
Lee Wooyeon smiled and turned over the script. Every time he smiled, revealing his teeth, CEO Kim felt goosebumps. Unknown women praised Lee Wooyeon’s neat teeth for being beautiful, but CEO Kim couldn’t.
“I’ll do this. The script is also good.”
“Okay. I get it. I will contact you.”
“Thank you.”
Lee Wooyeon got up from his seat. Choi Inseop’s resume was still in his hand.
“Why are you taking it?”
“I’m just going to see.”
“…do not do that. You’re awful. If you want to fire him, just fire him… no, please don’t. Please. I’m tired of looking at resumes now.”
“But I never fired anyone.”
With those words, Lee Wooyeon finally said goodbye and left. The manager, who was quietly organizing papers alone in the corner, opened his mouth.
“That’s right. He never fired anyone. You know everything.”
“Who doesn’t know? Anyway, Cha, monitor Lee Wooyeon aswell so that he can’t play tricks this time. Help Choi Inseop out, okay?”
“Yes. I’ll do that. Yes.”
“That’s why it’s so hard because Choi endures what Lee Wooyeon wants as a manager, even if he dies!”
CEO Kim Hak-seung shouted. Manager Cha, who was organizing the documents, turned his head.
“… … You want me to go through that hell again? Do you hear that sound, when you see blood spitting out of my mouth?”
“…”
The next day after learning about Lee Wooyeon’s dirty personality, CEO Kim Hakseung called the manager and said that he should take the role of Lee Wooyeon’s manager. The manager Cha nodded obediently to that as well. It was because he thought that big things would happen if his true nature was revealed. However, within a month, it was the manager who had a big problem. Lee Wooyeon, who did not need to show pretense in front of the manager, showed off his personality as it is, and eventually the manager vomited blood from his mouth and collapsed.
From that day on, Chief Cha declared that he would never take on Lee Woyeon’s managerial job.
“If I take the role of Lee Wooyeon’s manager again, I won’t be human. Anyway, if you do that, it will be the day when I will be prepared to leave the floor and call in sports newspaper reporters and hold a press conference, so please take care.”
“I won’t, I won’t.”
CEO Kim looked in the mirror, trimmed his messy hair, and muttered to himself.
“Sheesh. Is there no human in the world who can accept all of Lee Wooyeon’s qualities? Damn it.”
The manager shouted as he put down the documents he was holding on the desk aloud.
“If there’s such a crazy punk like that in the world, I’ll call him ‘hyung’ and follow him forever! You have to wish for it, a person. What’s wrong with him? Really.”
“As long as they don’t exist, why are you screaming?”
When CEO Kim responded, Manager Cha exclaimed and went out of the meeting room. CEO Kim took a bitter taste and organized the script Lee Wooyeon left behind. Suddenly, a good and capable new manager, Choi Inseop, came to his mind.
“It would be nice, but …It can’t be.”
He shook his head, pushing the thought that had just occurred to him in his head.
