Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 11
Lisa and Jun headed towards the park, but unlike before when Lisa stood behind Jun. Lisa was now walking side by side with Jun. This sudden change confused Jun, what happened that made Lisa less wary of him? Though he didn’t understand what could’ve possibly happened to make her change her stance about him, Jun gladly welcomed this change.
The two of them silently headed to the park. Now that Jun and Lisa were walking side by side, fewer people looked at them. Unlike before when some girl would try and talk to Jun, this time none approached him. This made Jun feel a bit more comfortable.
While Jun was feeling a bit relieved, Lisa was observing the stores that they passed, and the people that were walking on the sidewalk. She was trying to see which place and which person could make for a nice inclusion in her story.
…
After a few minutes of walking the two finally reached the park, it was already one o’clock in the afternoon. Still, as Jun said there were a lot of couples in the park. Most of them were high school and college students. There were also some single men and women looking around.
Lisa was surprised to see this place since she’s been living in this city for a few years now, but she’s never been to this park. As if he was able to read her mind, Jun gave her an answer.
“This is the east garden park, famously nicknamed couples park. Due to the nice scenery in this park a lot of couples like hanging around here. There are also some single men and ladies looking around to see if they too can find there other half. This is the perfect place for you to do your research on lovey-dovey scenes. But before we do that let’s eat our lunches”
Jun then guided Lisa into an empty park chair with a table. The two sat down and took out their respective lunches. Before Lisa was able to bite into her food she noticed something and asked. “Is that a lovey-dovey scene?”
Jun who was already biting at his pita looked at the direction Lisa was pointing at. He saw a young high school couple trying to hold hands. The guy who in his opinion was obviously a v*rgin was trying to grab hold of the girl’s hand but was hesitating. The girl in question was practically waiting for him to hold her hand. Jun sighed, as he remembered that he too used to be that naive, well that time of his life didn’t last long due to various reasons. He then looked back at Lisa and answered.
“Yup, that’s a basic lovey-dovey scene. A guy trying to hold his girlfriend’s hands.” After saying that Lisa grabs hold of Jun’s hand and immediately let go. She then started to write down what she figured out.
“I don’t really understand what’s there in holding another person’s hands, but I guess the warmth of another person’s hands is comfortable.”
Jun wasn’t that bothered by this action at this point, as he was slowly getting used to Lisa’s oddity. She was for a lack of a better term truly passionate about writing. Jun continued eating as he watched Lisa concentrate on writing down the new information she got.
The face she made as she fully dived into her work was charming, Jun couldn’t describe it better no matter how much he tried. He was quite entranced on how such a timid person could act like this when it came to her work. She was truly a very interesting individual. Jun himself has never felt any passion in anything, he had no aspirations, ambitions, or dreams. He was an empty person who was pretty much fake.
After she was done writing, Lisa started to eat her lunch. Even though she truly wanted to continue doing her research she was getting hungry and didn’t want Jun to hear her stomach growl.
The two started eating in silence but after a few seconds, Jun broke that silence. “Hey, can I ask a question?”
Lisa stopped chowing down on her food and looked at Jun. “What is it?”
“Why do you love writing so much?” There was a slight pause before Lisa answered.
“… Writing… Writing allows me to create worlds governed by logic. Writing allows me to create a world that can have a happy ending. It allows me to create numerous worlds that can grant second chances…” Her eyes that were sparkling moments ago, turned a bit hollow as she gave her answer. After saying that Lisa stopped talking and continued to eat in silence.
Jun who was good at listening noticed there were minor changes in Lisa’s tone when she said the words, logic, happy ending, and second chances. There must be something deeper going on here, but Jun decided to stop pushing and leave it at that for now.
In truth, he also wanted to ask about the packed lunch, but he might be pushing it if he did ask. So he simply waited for Lisa to finish eating. After she was done with her food, she took out a thermos and drank from it.
“Alright I’m done, let’s start looking for people doing lovey-dovey scenes.” Lisa sounded a bit more enthusiastic than before.
