Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 15
While Lisa was trying to review her notebook, she received a reply to the message she sent a while ago.
“You’re welcome, Lisa.” The moment she received this message an indescribable feeling ȧssailed Lisa she wasn’t sure what this feeling was but it felt rather familiar. As she was trying to figure out what this weird feeling was she received a call from Karla.
“Lisa! Are you alright?!”
“Huh?”
“Don’t you huh, me! I saw the video! Why didn’t you call me?”
“Video? What video? Karla, I don’t understand a thing you’re saying.”
“You really don’t know? There’s a video of you and Jun encountering a pervert, and Jun beats him up.”
When Lisa heard this she freezes up for a bit before speaking. “H, how do you know that?”
“So it’s real, that was really you and Jun?!” Karla screamed at her phone.
“Wait, just answer the question, please, how did you find out about that incident?”
“What do you mean how? It’s all over the internet.” When she heard what Karla said, Lisa started to search for the video on the internet but no matter how hard she tried nothing was coming up.
“It’s not there.”
“What do you mean it’s not there, I’m looking… Huh? Where is it, I’m sure I saw it on this site. Video not found? Huh?”
After that even though Karla could no longer find the video, she already knew based on Lisa’s reaction, that both she and Jun have encountered a pervert. Karla wanted to find out what happened and see if Lisa was okay, Karla even said that if Lisa wanted she could come over and help her.
“No, it’s alright, Jun already comforted me, I feel better now.” Karla was surprised to hear this, but after her initial shock, she started smirking.
“Oh, Jun did? How exactly did he comfort you?”
“He told me everything was going to be alright while holding my hand. For some reason when he did that I actually felt a bit better.”
Karla who was listening was trying her very best to not squeal in delight like some high school girl. Still, this was an amazing thing to hear, Lisa who usually didn’t even like talking to other people had actually held a man’s hands and said it made her feel better!
“Just how close have you two gotten?” Lisa not fully understanding the question simply answered, “well I did allow him to call me Lisa.” Karla bit her lower lip as she was getting all squirmy.
“So what else did you two do today?” Now forgetting her initial purpose for calling, Karla started to have some girl talk with Lisa. She listened to Lisa as she explained how Jun came really early to the meeting place, how he was able to reject women’s advances while making them smile.
She also told Karla how Jun explained every lovey-dovey scene they encountered. She then remembered how good Jun explained each situation making him sound like he could be a writer as well.
“Hey Karla, do you know if Jun has ever tried writing his own novel?”
“Oh right, actually I heard from some of the older editors that Jun once submitted a fantasy romance novel back when he was in high school. It was actually pretty good they said, but for some reason, a day after they decided to publish Jun’s work, the editor in chief of that time decided not to do it. This made the other editors question the decision, but the old editor in chief wouldn’t budge. Rumor has it that he was being pressured not to accept any work coming from Jun.”
“Why?”
“Well, nobody really knows why… There are many theories about it, if you ask around, which I did. You wanna hear?”
“Yeah, tell me.”
“Alright then here are the top three theories, the first and most accepted theory was that Jun’s work was threatening the position of a top writer at the time, so said writer forced the editor in chief to not publish Jun’s work. Theory number two, an enemy of Jun’s blackmailed the editor in chief using some scandalous photos, threatening the old editor in chief that if he published Jun’s work those pictures would be leaked to the public. Now the final theory and the one people say is the least likely to have happened, some rich and powerful entrepreneur used his connections to stop Jun’s work from being published. So what do you think?”
“They all sound rather unrealistic, like some plot in a T.V drama,” Lisa answered.
“Yeah, I know, well they’re all just rumors in the end. If you’re really curious, why don’t you ask the person in question himself? You two seem to be quite close now, so he might give you an answer.” Karla spoke in a teasing tone.
“You might be right, I guess I should ask him if the chance presents itself.” After saying this Lisa heard Karla sigh.
“You’re no fun at all. F.Y.I, I was trying to tease you.”
“Huh, tease me? In what way?” Lisa asked genuinely confused.
“Don’t mind it, it’s my fault, I should’ve expected this from you. Well, it’s getting late, you should get some sleep. If you need something don’t be afraid to call. Goodnight Lisa.”
“Yeah thanks, Karla, goodnight.” Lisa then hung up and went back to reading her notes, but was distracted. Lisa couldn’t stop thinking about what she and Karla talked about.
‘He wrote something that all the old editors thought was nice, then why did he say that?’ Lisa remembered what Jun said when she asked if he has ever given a thought about becoming a writer.
“Not really… I’m sure if I try becoming a writer, it won’t work out” That’s what he said, and based on what Karla said it really didn’t work out, but still why did he lie to her about not thinking about it.
Lisa then wrote in her notebook. “Tang Jun- possible male lead, a man of mystery.”
