Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 21
Lisa who was being pulled by Jun away from Edrea was still in a state of confusion. So many things happened in such a short time, that it was taking Lisa quite some time to take in all the new information she had.
When the two of them got a bit farther away and started seeing other people passing by the sidewalk, Lisa finally pulled away from Jun. She then looked at Jun with eyes of worry and confusion. Jun seeing her looking at him like that made him feel like somebody stabbed his heart.
“Who was that? What was she talking about? Was she really your finacée? Who are you really Jun?” Lisa who was able to open up to Jun was now extremely wary of him, as she kept a little bit of distance from him.
Jun seeing Lisa’s reaction sighed. He knew this would happen the moment he received his little brother’s call. Thought it was a good thing his little brother warned him about what Edrea was going to do, so he was able to arrive in time and avoid an even worse situation. Never did he expect Edrea to do that, it’s not like this was the first time he ever talked to another woman or had a female friend. So why did Edrea decide that Lisa was someone she needed to warn?
“That was Edrea Hunt, she’s a childhood friend of mine, and she was my fiancée and now she’s my ex-fiancée. As for who I am, I’m Tang Jun nothing more nothing less.” Seeing the serious expression Jun had made Lisa look a little bit less wary. She didn’t like all these bothersome things, she didn’t like being in a confrontation like that… But Jun was one of the few friends she has and with her social skills, it was going to be pretty hard to gain more.
“Tell me Jun are we friends?” Lisa suddenly asked out of nowhere. Jun was surprised by this sudden question but then quickly regained his bearings.
“Of course,” Jun answered without any hesitation and full of resolve. Hearing Jun’s answer Lisa then remembered what Edrea told her about her secret. If Edrea was going to tell Jun anyway, then it would be better if she herself told Jun the truth.
“Then, as your friend, I want to tell you something.” Lisa who was strengthening her resolve was about to tell her secret was stopped by Jun pressing his finger onto her lips.
“If this is about your secret, do not worry. Edrea might be like that, but in truth, she’s just a little girl that doesn’t know what she’s doing. She might be using your secret to threaten you, but whatever she said shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Also, she now knows that if she uses your secret as blackmail material, then I too will use her own secrets against her. So I’m sure that she will no longer use them.” Jun showed Lisa his usual smile that made her feel that everything was going to be alright.
“But… Still, you are my friend and I need to-” Jun once again blocked Lisa’s lips with his finger.
“No buts. I don’t want to hear your secret under these circumstances, I only want to hear it once you truly want to tell it to me. Also if you tell your secret, it’s like your forcing me to tell you my secret, and I don’t want to do that. So to avoid that awkward scenario how about we forget about telling secrets for the time being.”
“Alright…” In the end, Lisa decided to trust Jun’s decision. It wasn’t like she really wanted to tell Jun her secret.
“Good, so how’s the progress in your writing going?” Jun then tried to shift the topic to Lisa’s favorite, which was her work.
“It’s alright.” Lisa’s answered lacking her usual passion, which surprised Jun. He might have only known Lisa for a few days, but he was sure that no matter what Lisa would usually happily talk about her work. This event must have done more damage than Jun expected.
The walk back to her apartment building suddenly became silent and awkward. When they finally reach the building, Lisa thanked Jun for escorting her.
“Lisa tell me when you’re going to post the first chapter. I want to be there when you post it, is that alright?”
“Sure… See you, Jun.” Lisa then entered the building leaving Jun behind. Once Lisa had safely entered the building, Jun took out his phone and quickly dialed a number.
After just one ring the other party picked up the phone.
“Jun! Did you finally come to your senses?” Edrea who was on the other line was happy to hear from Jun. She couldn’t believe her eyes that Jun actually called her.
“Do you have time now?” Jun asked in an ice-cold tone.
“Of course!” Edrea was so happy to hear Jun wanting to meet her, that she didn’t even hear his voice having that ice-cold tone. In her perception, Jun was talking like he always did with her, cheery.
“Meet me at my place right now.”
“Really right now?… I need more time to prepare, if you just give me a few hours, I can meet you in-” Edrea wasn’t able to finish what she was going to say as Jun interrupted her.
“Right now,” after saying what he wanted to say Jun hanged up.
Edrea was getting excited as she was imagining numerous things happening in Jun’s penthouse. She looked at her herself and then checked the remembered the undėrwėȧr she was wearing and decided to buy new clothes and undėrwėȧr before heading out to Jun’s place.
In her mind, Jun couldn’t possibly be angry at her, since way before Jun has never truly been mad at her. No matter what she has done he would always forgive her. That was her sweet loving Jun in her memories. Though Jun has seemingly changed over the years for reasons she couldn’t comprehend, she knew deep down the Jun that was always with her was still there.
