Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 25
Lisa opened the door slightly to see who was knocking and saw Jennifer holding a bowl of popcorn. Lisa was about to shut the door but Jennifer pushed in.
“How are you, Lisa? Look here I brought some snacks. So to celebrate our newfound friendship let’s watch a movie.” Without waiting for an answer Jennifer was able to enter Lisa’s apartment without much effort.
Lisa was confused at first but quietly accepted Jennifer’s intrusion. Lisa concluded that it was alright to do this sometimes. She needed to get better in socializing, maybe being around someone like Jennifer might push her to do better. She was still a bit scared, but she needed to be brave and get through this. A lot of things were happening in her life, and it was better if she could adapt.
“Why a movie?” Lisa asked after calming herself down.
“Oh, I’m kinda like a movie buff… Whoah, what do we have here.” While Jeniffer was answering Lisa’s question, she noticed Lisa’s entertainment center. It had everything from a 75-inch MicroLED 4K TV to a pretty good surround sound system. She even had all the modern gaming consoles available. Jennifer wasn’t as much as a gamer as Lisa but she plays video games every now and then. Less for the gameplay but more for the storylines.
“This is awesome! Watching here is going to be great!” Jennifer was excited as she checked out Lisa’s entertainment center, she was so excited with that one spot that she wasn’t even able to get a good look at any other part of the apartment.
“Oh right, I’ve wanted to ask you when I got home, I heard you screaming something. Is everything alright?”
“…”
‘What should I say? should I tell her the truth? Should I not? It’s not like it’s something hide? She might be able to help me… She is my friend now… Well, a friend I just properly talked to this morning. Seeing as Karla is too busy, and Jun isn’t really an option, I guess there’s no other choice..’
Seeing Lisa suddenly look to be in a daze made Jennifer slightly worried.
“Um, if you don’t want to talk about it, then take it as if I never asked anything. I’m sorry about that, I’ve been told many times that I come off as a bit too pushy. I’m really sorry about asking.”
“It’s alright, actually I want to ask for your advice about something.”
“Sure.” Jennifer happily responded. Lisa then started to tell Jennifer what happened after they parted ways.
“What the hell! that’s just like something out of a T.V drama. Also, you actually met Edrea Hunt, and you found out that she used to be the fiancée of your new editor slash friend. Not only that, it turns out little miss perfect is one of those kinds of b*tches. That’s big, that’s very big news.” Jennifer was happily eating her popcorn as she listened to Lisa’s story.
“So what do you think I should do?”
“Well based on what you told me, this whole thing didn’t really have anything to do with you. It feels like you were nothing more than a trigger to an already complicated situation. Still, I wonder who Jun is? There was never any mentions of Edrea having a fiance in any of the magazines I’ve read, and she’s been in most of them.”
“Actually I’m also really curious about that, I tried searching online but there wasn’t anything about him at all.”
When the topic shifted from Edrea to Jun, Lisa got a bit more excited.
“A hot guy with a mysterious past. That really is interesting. If he is Edrea’s former fiance then that would make Jun part of the upper class. I wonder why he’s working as an editor in your publishing company? No offense, but if Jun’s social class is really up there it really is confusing why he’s working in your company.”
“No offense taken, I’ve also been wondering about that. Still, I heard a rumor about Jun’s past.” Lisa then told Jeniffer about what she heard regarding Jun’s work that wasn’t published.
“That makes things even more mysterious. I wonder how all of this adds up? If the former editor-in-chief was really pressured by Jun’s family, did he start working in your company as a form of rebellion?”
“It could be?… Wait we strayed away from the topic! I wanted to know what I should do with the Edrea problem.”
“Oh right… You shouldn’t worry too much about that. Just let Jun handle that situation for you. If that b*tch does something just call me or Jun. So let all the bad thoughts go away, and let’s go and watch a movie.”
Lisa sighed as she showed Jennifer how to stream a movie in her T.V. Once Jennifer learned the basics of it, the two of them unexpectedly watched an action movie.
