Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 30
After Jun left her apartment, Lisa sat on her sofa confused. The way Jun left was so abrupt and out of nowhere that she was unable to say anything as he left. It was like he was running away from something. It was a bit weird since they were having such a nice conversation and then he suddenly bailed while showing a frowning face. Lisa started to wonder who called him.
‘Maybe it was Edrea… Was she bothering him because of me?’ When Lisa thought of the supposed ex-fiancée she started to worry. Even though Jun said he already dealt with what happened the other day, she still felt a bit uncomfortable about the situation.
‘Wait why am I that worried about Jun? Wasn’t this partially his fault as to why that Edrea girl was bothering me… Also technically Edrea is his problem, not mine. Then why am I this bothered?’
Lisa was trying to figure out why she was so bothered by what was happening with Jun, she just couldn’t understand it. Even though Jun was her friend, he was still a person she just met. Even Karla her friend for years now didn’t make her feel this bothered.
While trying to understand what she was feeling, Lisa remembered Jun’s smiling face and the warmth of his hands. When Lisa remembered those things she couldn’t help but smile. She then felt her heart beating much faster than normal.
‘Am I having some sort of heart problem… Or is this… That?’ Lisa remembered the scenes she watched from numerous romantic movies and series, of the female lead falling for the male lead. Wasn’t this the first signs of that? It might be she was watching too much romance series that her thoughts were going to someplace they shouldn’t.
‘It can’t be, right? I just met him last week for crying out loud. Am I that easy? No this might be something else, not that…’
Lisa was trying her hardest to think of why Jun was affecting her so much, but aside from her initial answer she just couldn’t think of anything else at the moment.
‘I do think that Jun is pretty handsome, but that doesn’t mean I like him that way. I also think about him a lot but that’s because he’s the guy I based my male lead on. I also think he smells nice, and his firm hand makes me feels safe, his smiling face reassures me. Wait! Why am I thinking about that!’
Jun was now filling Lisa’s mind more and more as she continued to figure out what she was feeling right now. Until finally she could no longer deny it.
‘I might actually be interested in Jun, not just as a friend but as a man… I’m really not sure… I wonder is this how one feels when she falls in love? It’s not as bad as the love at first sight crap, but this is pretty bad, isn’t it? Well, I’m really not sure about anything, so I guess I’ll figure it out as I spend more time with him… Wait! Did I actually think, that I WANT to spend more time with him?’
As Lisa went deeper and deeper into her thoughts, the more excited and frustrated she felt. She has never needed to deal with these kinds of emotions since her circumstances denied her to have this kind of experience.
‘Wait a minute, I can use this. Yeah… I need to write down my feelings while it’s fresh in my mind.’
Lisa then took out the notebook where she writes down the plot points of her new novel Love is so sweet. She started to write down the conflicting feelings of the female lead about the male lead. She was in love with him, but at the same time, she hated him.
She then wrote a line that the male lead says as an answer to the female lead when she confronts him about their feelings. “I don’t know if you think this is a lie. I’m sure you think of me as a fool, but in my heart, I wish you would think I did this because I love you.”
After writing down the scene she imagined, Lisa was pleasantly surprised. Her writing about romance was gradually improving, she actually felt that she was getting a bit better at it.
‘It doesn’t matter if what I’m feeling is love or not. I can use this to my advantage, this weird feeling that I cannot understand will help make my work a bit better.’
Lisa who was getting excited about writing some more forgot her initial worries about Jun’s circumstances.
