Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 33
During the time Jun was talking with his father, Lisa was watching some romance movies. While she was watching she heard someone knocking on her door. Lisa opened the door and saw Jeniffer wearing formal attire smiling at her.
“Hey, Lisa can I crash here for a while?” Jeniffer didn’t wait for an answer as she let herself in. She then proceeded to sit on Lisa’s coach.
“Looking for a job is such a chore.” Jeniffer quickly made herself feel at home. Lisa who was swept up by Jeniffer’s pace decided that having a friend like this was an experience. It might also help her write a more interesting character.
“So what are you watching? A romance flick… Oh right, today’s the day you upload your new work. How was it?”
“It was alright, I was a bit hesitant at first, but Jun helped me out.”
“Oh, really? What did he do? Did he perhaps whispered sweet nothing into your ears, or did he do something more?”
Hearing what Jeniffer said actually made Lisa blush a bit before she could answer.
“He didn’t do any of that! He just held my hand a bit.” After saying the first half of her sentence. Lisa whispered the second half.
“What did you say?”
“Nothing, so how was your job interview today?” Lisa who said something she shouldn’t say to Jeniffer quickly tried to change the subject as naturally as possible.
“So we’re done with your thing, and it’s my turn. Well, to be honest, the job interview was just sh*t. The guy that interviewed me turn out to be a perv, so I just left after complaining a bit.”
Lisa was shocked to hear what happened to Jeniffer and was unsure if she heard it right.
“Wait, you got sėxuȧŀly harassed?” Lisa was truly surprised by what she heard. Jeniffer, on the other hand, simply shrugged her shoulders as she answered in a very nonchalant way.
“It happens every now and then, especially looking the way I do.”
“That’s too much of a hassle. I already scolded him about it and said my piece that’s more than enough for me. It’s not like he rȧpėd me or anything like that. It was just some harmless talk and a bit of buŧŧ touching, and that’s it. I got to slap him in the face while berating him, so I’m good.”
“Do you really think that’s good enough?” Lisa couldn’t even imagine what she would’ve done if that happened to her.
“Suing someone is not like in those movies, alright. It takes a lot of time and money to sue someone. Both of which I have none. Even if I do somehow get the money to hire a lawyer and sue, it’s not like I have time to go to court hearings as I’m a fresh college grad that’s a part-timer looking for a full-time job.”
Hearing Jeniffer’s response made Lisa a bit frustrated. She could use the money given to her by her grandparents to help Lisa out, but seeing how unwilling the person was she could only clench her fist in frustration.
Seeing Lisa’s reaction made Jeniffer sigh as she stood up and smiled at the frustrated older person in front of her. Even though she was the younger one between the two, it felt like Lisa was the little sister while she was the big sister.
“It’s alright Lisa like I said I’ve been through this a couple of times, even when I was a student looking for part-time jobs. That’s just how the world works, so no need to frown like that. Actually, if you want, you can add this kind of thing into your novel. Add it so that you can raise a bit of awareness in other people’s minds.”
Jeniffer knew that her suggestion was not really going to do anything, but at least maybe if Lisa does this she might feel a little bit better. Hearing what Jeniffer said Lisa was actually contemplating the feasibility of adding such a scene into her novel. It would most likely gain a lot of backtalk from her readers but doing so might relieve her of the guilt she was currently feeling.
As she was seriously thinking about it, her phone started ringing. She and Jeniffer looked at her ringing phone and saw Jun’s name popped out. Seeing this made Jeniffer smile slyly.
“It seems like your husband is calling you.”
“Are you sure about that? Then why are you blushing?” Jeniffer continued to tease Lisa but this time Lisa didn’t bother to respond as she answered the call.
“Hello, Jun.”
“Hey Lisa, quick question are you free right now?”
“Um, I actually have a friend over.”
“No need to bother with me, I’m going out. Have fun on your date.” Even though Jeniffer couldn’t hear what Jun was saying she could pretty much guess it by listening to what Lisa was saying. She got up said goodbye to Lisa and left the room. Jeniffer was like a storm coming and going as she pleased.
Dumbfounded by what just happened, Lisa was unable to retort about the date comment Jeniffer said.
“My friend just left, so why are you asking if I’m free?”
“Can we meet at the usual coffee shop, there’s something I need to tell you.”
