Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 43
While Lisa was playing with her cat Mia she received a message from Jun.
“My friend wants to meet you. It’s just a simple greeting, is that alright with you?”
When Lisa read this message she was confused. It was just four days ago since they started their fake relationship to trick Jun’s father, but now he wanted her to meet with his friend. Was this going too fast, or was it slow, or perhaps was this the normal speed of a relationship. Lisa didn’t know what to think, so she just replied, “I’ll think about it.”
Jun then replied almost instantly, “alright, but if it’s too much for you, you can always say no. I don’t really mind, it’s just that my friend is being really pushy about it.” The reply was so fast, it felt like Jun already guessed what she was going to text back.
…
While Lisa was thinking about what to do next, she heard someone knocking on her door. Lisa then looked at the time and saw that it was already five in the afternoon, meaning it was Jeniffer knocking on her door.
Lisa opened her door and Jeniffer who was wearing a suit entered the apartment. Based on her irritated face she still couldn’t find a full-time job. The two women then started to talk about Jeniffer’s day. After the usual talk on how it’s hard to get a job, Lisa asked Jeniffer the question that was bothering her.
“What? Meeting your boyfriend’s friend is kinda and kinda not a big deal. But regarding your question, him letting you meet his best friend could happen at any time. There’s no too fast or too slow about that kind of thing.”
Lisa who was listening to the words of wisdom of her friend and neighbor was more drawn to another thing she said not the answer she gave.
“What do you mean meeting his friend is a big deal and at the same time not?” Jeniffer who was playing with Lisa’s cat Mia as she answered, didn’t notice that Lisa already had her notebook out and was writing notes.
“Well, it depends… Some guys treat their friends like they were brothers. While other guys don’t really care that much what their friends think. If Jun’s the latter type then you don’t really need to care about what the best friend thinks of you. Now, if Jun was the former type then that may present a problem. If the two of them are that close that would mean Jun might be swayed by his friend’s opinion. If Jun’s friend doesn’t like you, only two things could happen. He either stops being friends with that guy, or he breaks up with you.”
Lisa was excitedly writing down everything Jeniffer said. She was sure that what Jeniffer said would probably happen in a real relationship. Which would make for a good conflict between the characters in her novel. Fortunately for Lisa, she was simply in a fake relationship with Jun, not a real one.
“So what do you think I should do?” Lisa asked Jeniffer.
“Hmm… How about I come with you, so you won’t be too overwhelmed by the guy. Text Jun and tell him I’ll be accompanying you tomorrow.”
Lisa nodded her head and immediately texted Jun what Jeniffer suggested. Jun’s reply was quick as ever.
“He said that it’s fine. Are you available tomorrow, around nine in the morning?”
“Yeah, I don’t have any interviews tomorrow, so I’m all yours.”
“Thanks for doing this Jeniffer,” Lisa answered with an awkward smile.
“No problem, what are friends for.”
When Lisa heard Jeniffer say the words, she was a bit tempted to tell Jeniffer about her situation with Jun, but then again she did promise Jun that she wouldn’t tell anyone.
