Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 48
While Jun was carrying Lisa in a princess carry, Matthew was surprised. He was not surprised by how Jun was able to easily pick up Lisa, Matthew was more surprised that Jun actually saved Lisa.
Jun was really competitive, and usually, he would always pick the quickest way to win. So Matthew was expecting Jun to let Lisa get hit and do this on his own. But contrary to what Matthew was expecting, Jun saved Lisa and was now running away.
He chose to help Lisa who was nothing more than dead weight to him in this game. That was not something Matthew Jun would ever do.
‘He must really like Lisa…’ Matthew not to think too deeply about it and concentrated on the game at hand.
…
Lisa who was being carried by Jun was feeling a torrent of different emotions. She was feeling embarrassed that Jun was carrying her. She feeling a bit guilty as she understood that she was nothing more than a liability in this game. She was feeling a bit excited by being carried in a princess carry, a move she has only seen in anime. Aside from those, she was also feeling something different and she couldn’t quite understand it.
When the coast was clear Jun finally put down Lisa. The moment he did so Lisa actually felt a bit disappointed. She even unconsciously frowned.
“Is everything alright?” Jun asked concerned about Lisa’s expression.
“Huh?” Lisa looked at Jun confused.
“You’re frowning.”
“I am?” Lisa touched her face still confused. Seeing Lisa act like that, Jun decided that he must’ve seen wrong.
“I guess I was wrong, you weren’t frowning. Anyway, Lisa, I want you to stay here. I’m going to try and take down Matthew. So if anyone comes here I want you to just aim and squeeze the trigger. Can you do that?”
Lisa nodded her head in response as she held her paintball gun. Jun was then about to leave but before he could move Lisa clung onto his arm.
“Is there something wrong?”
“I think it’s better if we both go out and attack. I don’t want to stay here and do nothing.” Lisa answered with renewed conviction.
Jun was a competitive person so he took games and any other thing he did rather seriously. So he wasn’t someone that would say don’t take playing too seriously. Seeing Lisa show an expression similar to when she talks about her work, Jun couldn’t help but smile.
“Sure you can come with me.” Lisa was shocked to see Jun’s smile. She already saw him smile a dozen times, but for some reason, the smile he was showing right now felt different. It felt more genuine, more real than any other expression he has shown before. Lisa could feel her heart beating even faster than before.
‘What is this?’ Lisa just got even more confused. Was she feeling frightened, or was she excited? Her mind and heart were all over the place.
Jun seeing Lisa making weird faces was about to call out to her, but then he saw at the corner of his eye Jennifer was closing in.
Jun quickly pushed Lisa down to the ground and started shooting at Jeniffer who was surprised by the attack.
“Lisa we got to move! I’m pretty sure Matthew is right behind us.” Jun spoke but Lisa didn’t respond. Jun looked at Lisa and saw she was looking at Jun confused as to why he suddenly pushed him down.
Seeing Lisa like that, Jun almost clicked his tongue but he didn’t. He then helped Lisa up as he moved forward while pulling Lisa with him.
“Lisa shoot Jeniffer.” Hearing what Jun said Lisa was jolted awake from her thoughts. She was a bit startled at first but after a few seconds, she started shooting at Jeniffer who was now panicking.
Seeing Jeniffer being bombarded Matthew could no longer wait and attacked Jun and Lisa from behind. Jun was already expecting this so he wasn’t surprised as he and Lisa continued onward and was able to shoot down Jeniffer.
