Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 51
Randolph started to explain to Lisa that his father had accepted a job overseas, and he was bringing the whole family with him. When Lisa heard Randolph’s explanation she looked at him stunned by the news. The sudden news about Randolph’s departure made Lisa’s mind spiral into confusion.
“This must be a joke… Right?” Lisa looked at Randolph with various emotions swirling inside of her. Randolph looked at his long-time friend and frowned as he bit his lip. Lisa knew that was something Randolph usually does when he’s feeling anxious.
“It’s not a joke… I really am moving away.” Randolph spoke with a more serious tone. Seeing how serious Randolph looked, Lisa was about to say something more but then they heard the school bell ringing.
“Hey you two, how long are you going to stand there? Get to class!” A teacher who was monitoring the school gates noticed the two and called them. When Lisa and Randolph heard the teacher they unconsciously started running towards their classroom.
On the way to the classroom, Lisa and Randolph didn’t talk as a heavy atmosphere enveloped the two.
…
When homeroom started the teacher in charge made an announcement. He told the whole class about Randolph’s departure. He then explained to the class that this would be his last day in this school. Everyone was shocked to hear this and all of them unconsciously looked at Lisa.
Everyone in class knew that Lisa and Randolph were close. Everyone would usually tease the two as a married couple. So they were expecting an extreme reaction from Lisa. But when they looked at her she wasn’t surprised at all.
Lisa was not paying attention to what was happening in class, as her thoughts were currently elsewhere.
…
After homeroom ended the regular classes flowed like normal. The moment lunchtime started the class surrounded Randolph and started to ask many questions. Some of them were close to Randolph and tried saying how they would miss him and such. Randolph didn’t want to be rude, but he didn’t have time to talk to them as he wanted to speak with Lisa first. But as he was heading to Lisa’s place he saw Lisa’s seat was empty.
…
Lisa had fled the classroom she didn’t want to talk to Randolph as her feelings were a total mess. She was confused, scared, hurt, and above all else sad. She didn’t want to talk to Randolph about him moving away, she wanted to deny the truth that was happening before her. She always thought that Randolph would be there for her always, but then this happened. In the back of her mind, she already branded Randolph as a traitor.
She understood that there was no way, she could stop what was happening. She was also aware that it wasn’t Randolph’s fault this was happening, but her emotions were overcoming her reason.
‘You liar, you told me you’ll stay by my side and protect me…’ Lisa who was already blaming and cursing at Randolph in her mind, was gnashing her teeth. Though she was feeling unjustified anger at Randolph, she was also getting angry at herself for being weak.
She might look happy all the time, was confident and sociable. But the truth was she was only like this because Randolph was by her side. If he disappeared, she didn’t know what might to happen. While her emotions were in a mess, Lisa felt a sudden discomfort.
‘These events why do they seem so familiar?…. It feels like all of these already happened to me before… Is this deja vu?’ Lisa head started to hurt a bit as she was feeling a bit uncomfortable. There was also this indescribable feeling that something worse was about to happen.
