Love Is So Sweet - Chapter 60
Jun who was shocked by Lisa leaving him in the room was still standing there without moving. He was already expecting to be rejected outright, but it still hurt when it happened. She didn’t even say anything and just left with a pained look on her face. That made Jun feel even worse about what he did. Still, this was what he wanted to shake things up, so he doesn’t regret what he did.
‘Yet why does it hurt?’ Jun tried to calm himself as he touched his ċhėst.
While Jun was concentrating on relaxing his nerves Matthew entered the room. He saw his friend standing unmoving in front of the hospital bed. Matthew stood beside Jun and tapped his shoulder.
“Hey, this is where it begins right?” Hearing Matthew’s voice woke Jun from his deep thoughts. He then looked at his smiling friend and sighed.
“That was harder than I thought.”
“Well, no one said this was going to be easy. If you want to get the girl you need to work for it. Especially this girl, based on Lisa’s reaction as she burst out of this room things didn’t go well. Oh right before I forget, just a side note Jeniffer texted me and said that she and Lisa met the doctor on the way to the elevator. The two of them are heading back to Lisa’s apartment.”
“You and Jeniffer are you guys a thing?…”
“Not yet but we’re getting there. Don’t bother about that, let’s just focus on you for now. So like I said it didn’t go well, huh.”
“It didn’t go well is an understatement. She didn’t even answer my question she just stormed off. She looked really pale as well.” Jun felt a bit of pain as he remembered that scene.
Matthew shrugged his shoulders as he answered. “It’s not my place to say anything, but you do know Lisa’s pretty broken inside. I just met her and I can easily see that. So her not fainting or slapping you is already a win. Also since she didn’t reject you outright, you already have a better start than some people out there. You know, I know this chick who had a childhood friend that she fell deeply in love with. She did everything in her power to become the woman of his dreams. Yet no matter what she did this guy just wouldn’t give her the time of day. Sound familiar?”
Jun looked at Matthew with a tired smile on his face. “Yeah, I’m a monster.”
“Who’s a monster? Wait you think I’m talking about you. I was talking about Alicia and Jung. Well, I guess now that I think about it you and Jung do share some similarities.” Matthew looked at Jun and started to chuckle. Jun punched Matthew’s shoulder and started to chuckle as well.
“So what’s the game plan now?” Jun could only shrug his shoulders hearing Matthew’s question.
“I haven’t really thought that far. I can just wing it.”
“Normally I would agree with you in winging it, since knowing you just winging it would’ve been enough. But now you’re facing someone like Lisa and you don’t want it to go wrong, so winging it isn’t really advisable. So let’s brainstorm some ideas, let’s do it like the old days.”
“The old days… Oh, you’re talking about going to the arcade. Aren’t we too old for that? Also if you’re talking about the old days, are we going to invite Edrea?”
“Okay fine, the old days style new game plus. Just you and me playing some shooting games, a few fighting games and then hanging at the snack bar eating while talking about what to do next.”
Jun looked at Matthew as he couldn’t help but smile wryly. “Sounds like a plan.”
“Now that’s the spirit.”
“Just don’t get too depressed while I beat you in str**t f*ght*r.”
“The only reason you’ll win is because I feel bad for you.”
“Yeah, yeah, just keep telling yourself that.”
Thanks to Matthew’s support Jun felt a bit better. While the two were leaving the hospital Matthew received a text from Edrea.
“How was it were you able to ask?”
Matthew clenched his fist and sighed as he replied to the text.
“I’ll tell you in person, I’ll swing by your place later.” After texting that message, Edrea quickly replied.
“Alright.”
