Lovely Awakenings - Chapter 7 True Queen
As Kara leaves with Adam, I get the urge to follow them just to see what she’ll do next, but instead I take a seat in Alex’s chair as Rafael and Mason enter the small office.
“Ma lady,” Rafael says mockingly as he bow’s his head and the door closes behind them.
“Rafa,” I say as he kisses my hand, “what brings you here?”
“Gabriel sends us. He wishes an audience.”
“Oh,” I stand and walk around the table, “does he really? I mean, I’ve known him since the very beginning and if anything, he demands things, not asks but takes.”
“Tessa,” is all they say.
“So, she has him on a leash,” Crystel says dryly.
“No one has me on a leash,” Gabriel’s booming voice comes from behind me as Tessa and the other members of his pack arrive.
“That’s very true,” Tessa says as she drags her claws down the side of Crystel’s face, “It’ll do you good to remember that.”
“Gabriel,” Alex says as they shake hands and hug the way they always do, a quick pat on the back.
“Brother,” Gabriel says with a wicked lovely smile.
“So, what is it that you seek from me?” I ask.
“Sakura sent her pawns to attack us, she thinks we don’t know,” Gabriel spits in disgust as he adds on, “the whore thinks herself Queen.”
“Does she now?” I can’t help but bare my fangs at this.
“Yes,” Tessa says as she retracts her claws and Crystel slides-down the wall. The hound has changed since last I saw her, both physically and internally. Her once waist length hair hangs loosely around her shoulders in intricate layers, and her eyes seem to be the cooler of emeralds with sparks of ruby. Not only that, but her now visible aura is composed of shadows and violet along with hints of silver and red.
“You’re with child,” I say as I realize what that soft thumping sound is.
“An,” Tessa says as she comes closer to me, takes my hand into hers and places it over her stomach. “Their names are Gabriel II and Ruby,” she smiles as Gabriel wraps a protective arm around her.
“Ruby?” I say.
“Yes, like a Queen I once knew. Quite powerful if I recall correctly. Oh, and lovely, so lovely that she drove both men and women to commit sin.”
“She wasn’t that great or lovely,” I say.
“If you say so, now what are you going to do about Sakura?”
“She’s already being taken care of.”
“How’s that?” Gabriel asks.
“Do you remember Nicky?”
for visiting.
“Aro’s mate,” Rafael says.
“She leads a clan and was your third General,” Tessa adds.
“Is my third General,” I correct, “she and her clan are working on it.”
“I see,” Gabriel says as a spark of understanding glints in his storm like eyes. His aura shifts from darkness, to a blazing red. “When?”
“Soon,” I say as the images of the war play out in my mind’s eye.
