Loving The Devil - Chapter 30
After leaving Brian’s house, Ryan and Sam were in the car when Sam became upset. “How dare you drag me out of there like that. I wanted to wait until Chloe got home. I was hoping to give that woman a piece of my mind. She just up and left and rejected our calls. I thought we were closer than that.” Sam was about to continue her rant when Ryan reached over grabbing the back of her head and planted his lips on hers prying her lips apart so their tongues could intertwine together. Sam allowed herself to become immersed in his arms. She was enjoying the kiss pulling him closer to get a deeper kiss. She wanted more. Then, Ryan pulled away. His lips were already missing hers. “I’m sorry I kissed you like that, but you wouldn’t hush so I could talk. She will be fine and reprimanded for her fault. Boss will make sure of that. Right now, I believe they have some things to talk about when she gets back, and we have a date to attend.” Sam gave Ryan a pouted look not thinking about Chloe but wanting to have that kiss again. She began to blush thinking about how amazing he kissed and the possibility of what could follow. Ryan glanced her way and noticed her blushing. “How are we supposed to go out when you give me such a ŀustful look? Did you want to cancel the date and just head back home?” Sam swiftly looked away. Embarrassed he had read her mind. “No. We should go out.” Anything to change the subject. This man is going to be the death of me; she thought.
Ryan gave her a mischievous grin and drove off. He was unsure of where to take her for their date. So he drove towards the city. He found a spot to park about a mile from the theater. After pulling over Sam gave him a confused look. “What are we doing?” “It is a nice night out, so I figured we could go for a stroll.” Ryan got out of the car and rushed to Sam’s door to open it for her. She gracefully stepped out of the car and went to the curb to wait for Ryan.
Ryan held her hand as they walked down the sidewalk, coming by a street vendor. Ryan stopped and looked at the menu. “Are you hungry? We should grab a bite to eat. I heard this place is really good.” Sam looked at Ryan, confused and relieved. “Yes, this will be fine. I’ll eat whatever you order. By the way, where are we going?” “Its a surprise.” Ryan flashed a devilish smile, making Sam blush a bright red. He ordered their food, and then they picked a bench to sit on. They sat and ate their food while enjoying their time together. Sam’s thoughts were wandering to Chloe and what could have happened to her. Ryan noticed the distant look in her eyes and guessed as to what was bothering her.
“Chloe will be fine. Please don’t worry; everything will turn out fine.” He reached out and gave her a deep hug. After finishing their meal, Ryan stood up and took Sam’s hand. They then began walking down the street together. They came up to a massive theater. Ryan started to walk inside, but Sam was still confused. “What are we doing here?” We’re going to see a live play. I thought it would be fun.” “I’ve never been to one before. This will be interesting.” Sam followed him up to the large double doors, where a man stood out front taking tickets from everyone who entered. After giving the man their tickets, Ryan led her through the doors where another man waited to guide them to their seats. It wasn’t too loud inside but louder than she thought it would be. Everyone was taking their positions and carrying on conversations in hushed voices. Sam was indeed surprised, and she couldn’t stop smiling and enjoying every moment of this new experience. Once the play began, everyone got quiet and watched. While Sam was watching the play with stars in her eyes, Ryan was watching Sam. He loved how her face showed her excitement. Her eyes glowed, and her mouth grinned with a never-ending smile. She sat watching every move and hung onto every word. She didn’t take her eyes off the stage, and he didn’t take his eyes off her.
When the play finally ended a standing ovation was awarded. As Ryan and Sam made their way outside, Sam kept ranting on about how much she loved the play and how wonderful of an experience it was. Ryan was glad she was happy and was happy himself. “I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. I was actually a little worried you wouldn’t like it. It surprised me with how much you have enjoyed our date. I have to do better for next time.” Sam smiled and looked over at Ryan. “You don’t have to do better, anytime I spend with you is the best time of my life.” After saying this, she began to skip to the car playfully. Watching this childish side of her, Ryan found his heart beating faster, and a single thought found it’s way into his mind. ‘I’m falling in love with this girl.’

While everyone on this night was having sentimental moments and sharing their time with one another, Sally laid in her hospital bed, contemplating how to move forward with her investigation. The one the cops deemed a suicide. She knew in her heart that wasn’t the case. She even had an idea about who caused it. Sally grabbed her ŀȧptop and began researching. She opened the internet and typed a name in the search bar, Brian Hughes. “I will expose you for the fraud you are. You have taken everything from me, and I won’t let you get away with it.” Sally began researching everything she could find. Writing down little side notes and compiling every piece of evidence she could find. Unfortunately, she won’t be able to find much on the internet. This only meant he had things worth hiding and was careful nobody knew.
