CHAPTER 326 – Double Celebration
While everyone had their feel of what was happening, Jade was being asked out.
Her joy knew no bounds at the moment. And no one could blame her. This was what her heart had yearned for from time to time but her stubbornness and revenge prevented it.
She no longer wished to waste time but proceed as though every obstacle faced never occurred in the past.
“Xander, honey I want you in my life. I love you and although I may not look ready, I am glad to be a part of your life and I do not want us apart anymore. I cannot take being apart from you and not knowing that you are mind.”
Xander remained unblinking as he stared at the little young Miss before him.
She finally said it. She proclaimed her love for him and spoke to him about how she felt.
Which man living, wouldn’t be happy to hear that the lady he loves, was in love with him?
…..
His heart thudded wildly in his chest with every second that ticked by, yet Xander was at a loss for words.
Her smile brightened further, feeling shy with how intense his gaze was.
“Tell me, Xander. Tell me exactly how you feel about me once more. Please. I want to hear it but more importantly, I want to listen to it through the mate bond.”
At her request, he wasted no time in activating what she wanted before leaving in close and pressing his forehead against hers.
To Jade’s surprise, he closed his eyes, and the next voice she heard, came directly from her mind.
“I love you, beyond what the words itself connote. Without you, my world is a space, a void eating me whole.”
Her cheeks flushed as she shut her eyes too and held her breath.
“My love, my heartbeat, my diamond, and pearl. Lost is how I am without you. Roses are red and violets are blue. Honey’s sweet but not as sweet as you.”
She smiled sheepishly, ignoring the fact that some teeth were shown to him as her body eagerly waited.
“And finding you as my mate is the best gift the universe could have given me. Thank you for being mine, Jade. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
They opened their eyes, with their foreheads still joined, and pressed a gentle kiss on the other person’s lips.
Once they pulled back he took another step away from her, turned his right palm inside out, and to her surprise a blue light glowed above his palm.
Her brows snapped together as she tried to comprehend what it was.
It wasn’t until the lights had disappeared that she finally saw what it was.
A small blue box lay on top of his palm, shimmering under the fluorescent light as her eyes gleamed in joy at it.
Left to her, it may have been another necklace, a gift, or anything but what lay in, was bound to shock her.
“Jade, my queen, this is for you.”
He placed his hand gently on the top of the box and pulled it open, revealing the precious gem hidden inside.
Her eyes flew open, registering the sight before her. Staring her in the face was the most exquisite gem she had ever seen firmly attached to a golden slim ring.
Before she could figure out what else was going on, Xander went down on one knee with a charming smile on his face as he got ready for the most important task of his life.
“This is a sapphire gem, gotten from the very depths of the dragon’s pit. Not many can get there nor be able to retrieve any gem from there as it is guarded by ancient dragons,” he quickly informed her and picked it up from the box.
Now that she was staring at it closely, she could see it flash a red and orange colour whenever it was turned to a different angle.
“Do not be alarmed. As much as this is a ring, my love, it is a weapon. As long as you wear this, I am at least sure that you can use a fraction of my powers. And when you do, the gem would turn red or orange.”
Having explained to her what he needed to say, he resumed from where he had stopped.
“Jade,” he enunciated in a lovely manner.
“Jade Nova Frost, would you do me the honours of spending the rest of your wonderful life with me and marry me?”
She bit down hard on her lower lip as tears began to gather in her eyes but she failed to say the words he wished to hear the most.
A few seconds went by and Xander got the same.
She was on the brink of tears, yet she could not cry but stare at him and how sweetly he was proposing to her.
“Jade, would you marry me, my love?” Her lips remained shut and he was forced to help her out.
“Babe, this is the part where you say…”
“Yes!” She squeaked at the top of her voice suddenly, interjecting his words with her own.
“Yes, yes, yes, yes!” She giggled without restraints and bobbled her head up and down.
Quickly she brought her left hand forward and kept her fingers straight.
Jade watched Xander slowly insert the ring into her middle finger. Once that was done, both of them kept their eyes fixed on her finger and the ring.
“It’s beautiful.”
“And so are you.” She lifted her eyes to meet his, watching his eyes fill up with so much love and adoration.
“Thank you for making me the happiest man in the world. Thank you so much.”
At this point, she could no longer hold it in and quickly held him up to his feet.
Xander had barely any chance to stand properly before Jade jumped into his arms, wrapping both hands around his neck and letting out a squeal.
“I love you!”
“Hahhaa…” He chuckled at her playful nature, hugged her back before pulling away, and winked at her.
“I guess we are going to have a double celebration today.”
