He went back to his office and sat heavily on his chair. He is still feeling irritated and he doesn’t know why he is so affected with Ingrid and Lance’s dinner date, of which he should be thankful because he knew that using the rooftop for just a dinner date would cost thousand bucks.
“Sir Gary, what happened?” the attending staff went to him hurriedly.
“I just told him about the rooftop reservation and after that his countenance became sour.” Then he recalled the name of the woman and his jaw dropped and he slapped his face with his hands.
“Why am I so stupid…” he hurriedly ran after his boss despite his fear. But he is no longer in sight. He sighed and thought that maybe he went home.
….
When Ingrid arrived at the rooftop, she was amaze by what she saw.
There is a red carpet, with some white petals scattered, for her to walk on that leads to the table for two with a candle at the center of it. A professional violinist was standing and started to play a sweet melody upon her arrival. Some LEAD bead lights hung in some places that give a dim light and a lovely ambience for dinner.
As she walked the carpet, Lance slowly emerged with a single red rose in his hands. Ingrid looks at the flower and she knew that Lance will eventually confess to her tonight. She sighed deeply before continuing to walk.
She showed a faint smile while looking at Lance. The man went to her and gave her the red rose.
“Ingrid, for you…” and then he boldly kissed her on her cheeks. She was caught off guard of his action but she did not show it on her face.
“Tha-thanks! What a lovely place it is.” She diverted her gaze and attention to the place.
“You are lovelier than all of this, Ingrid.” His eyes showed so much admiration. “..and I’m happy that you liked it. Come, let’s sit..” Lance pulled the chair for her and when she sat on it, it gives her warm and comfort since the breeze started to be chilly.
“I am touched!” she smiled demurely.
She looked around and her attention caught at the little pictures hung together with the LEAD bead lights.
“What are those, Lance?” she gets to her feet and went to the direction of the pictures.
And when she reached it, she saw baby pictures of her and at the end of it, a picture of her when she was one year old carried by a little boy of five.
“This is me, right? And who is this cute little boy? Is it you?” Lance smiled.
“Yes, it is me. This picture was taken during my birthday. And I perfectly remembered that day. And on that same day, I swore that when I grow up, I’m gonna marry you.” Ingrid was shocked at his revelation.
…
Clifford could not help himself. He was walking to and fro while deciding if he should look at the monitor or not. But then he decided to look at what is happening in the rooftop through the CCTV. He sat down, fidgeted his fingers before he finally clicked it. He was then looking for some excuse for his action.
‘I should look after Ingrid since she is my father’s trusted employee, I should make sure that she is not hurt within this hotel.’ He thought to himself as an excuse on peaking on the activities on the rooftop.
He clenched his fist when he saw that Lance kissed her on her cheeks.
‘Some day, I’ll give him a beating. He is not allowed to do that!’ he shouted within.
He is fuming with irritation every minute passed. He stood up and stared at the monitor and keeps on rubbing his lips thinking on how to manoeuvre their date.
He then remembered that blind date scheme Liane sets up and the prize that comes along with it. Its manager kept on asking him as to when their tour will take place. His idea lit up and called the restaurant manager and they talked and arranged things without Ingrid’s knowledge.
