“Dad reprimanded me to bring him because he said it’s not a good idea to leave in the care of the nanny. It was also their custom even when I was a child that they should bring me whenever they would go abroad. And I am still hesitant to bring him.”
“What are your reasons not to bring him along? And reasons to bring him? Which of the two is much reasonable?” Liane gave her probing questions instead of answering it.
Ingrid fell silent for a while. In her mind, she weighs the benefit and inconvenience between brining the child along with her. Her apprehension grew thinking that it will be the three of them and what would her colleagues think of her. She also fear that Clark may grew attach to Clifford and, and what about her?
“I’ll just cross the bridge when I get there.”
“Mommy, we’ll cross a bridge?” Ingrid and Liane laughed hard that it makes the burden less heavy.
“Hahaha not that kind of bridge your mommy is talking about, baby.” It was Liane who answered.
“Oh… then what is it, aunt Liane?”
“Hmmm, it’s an idiomatic expression which means to delay your worry about something that might happen until it actually does happen…” Liane then glanced at her friend with a knowing look.
“Mommy is worried over something?” Clark deeply observed her mother straight to her eyes.
Ingrid softly laughs. “It’s an adult thingy, babe. When you grow up you will understand such things.”
“Will uncle Cliff be with you on that trip mom?” Ingrid was wide eyed then she glances sideways to her bestfriend. Liane silently choked up laughing without the notice of the child.
“Uhhmmm… ye-yes.” She silently replied. Her child’s big blue eyes widened and then he climbed down from his chair and climb up to her lap.
“Mom, you know how much I love you, so please, bring me along. I wanna spend with you and uncle Cliff.”
“Why do you like him so, son?”
“I don’t know it seems like I’ve known him. I can’t understand it mom.” Her son said it innocently. “I hope he will invite me to be with your business trip.” He further settled.
