Loving You Is Not An Accident: It’s Destiny - 71 SENT A LETTER YEARS AGO
“Oh Hi! Dr. Samantha…” he smiled when he remembered her and his little adventure.
The woman blushed. “Finally! How have you been lately, Mr. Briggs? After ‘that’ we’ve never saw each other again. Are you now married?” the man chuckled.
“Oh no. I’m still happily single. And regarding ‘that’ should I know what happened after I did that?” the woman’s eyes then become unsettled.
‘Ooppss!’ she is starting to have some inward struggle. “Dr. Samantha?” he called her again.
“Oh sorry, I was thinking about my colleagues and my family who I left a while ago to greet you. And about ‘that’ I already sent a letter years ago, sir.” She stiffened just the thought of it.
“You do? But I have not received any.” He could not recall any incident that he received a letter from a fertility clinic.
The doctor was surprise. “But we already did, Mr. Briggs. And it even stated that–” her words were cut when Clifford received an important call.
He motioned to take the call first and he moved five meters away from the woman and seriously talked with someone over the phone for about five minutes. However, her daughter came running to her and was urging her to go back. But she waited first for him before she left.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Briggs, the timing is bad because my daughter here is insisting on coming back. If you have time, you can go to my clinic and discuss about that.” She said apologetically
Clifford could not withhold her and enquire about it so he just let her go back to her family.
“It’s okay, there’s still time.” He shook his head and headed where his feet would lead him.
…
Early the next morning, Ingrid arrived at the airport together with Clark. She cradled her son because he was still asleep. Though, bringing him along gave her still some concern but she decided to shrug it off just to grant his son’s request sometimes because she is not an indulgent type of parent, not wanting her child grow up as a spoiled brat.
Clark also knew his limitations because it was how he was brought up. That’s why when she decided to bring him along, his son could not contain his excitement in turn he did not sleep early. The night before her departure Clark was so clingy to her and kept on kissing her on the cheeks.
“You are the best mom in the whole wide world.” He praises his mom with exaggeration.
“Hmm you are so good in flattering your mom, Clark, aren’t you?” she teased her son.
“No, it’s true mom.., You are the best in the world.”
“Because you have no other mom beside me, right?” the child grinned.
“Exactly!”she reached out to her son and hugged him tightly.
“Promise me, that when mom is still working that you should not go out on the beach, okay?”
“I promise! Only if mommy is around.” The child raised his hand swearing.
They were fetched by a BMW and went directly to the hotel where she will meet the couple at lunch time. She still has enough time to relax and prepare. She looked at her son peacefully sleeping beside her at the backseat. She did wake him up so that he will have enough sleep though he already requested that he should be woke up when they arrived. She knew that later he will just play in the beach and have some fun. She brought his favorite books so that he will not be bored while waiting for her.
At six forty five in the morning they arrived at the resort, she was cradling her son who is still asleep. Ingrid then was assisted by the bellboy and she went to the Hotel’s front desk to check in.
“Good morning, ma’am. Welcome to Komu Hotel and Resort.” The beautiful lady smiled at her
“Hi! Good morning, kindly check a reservation under the name Ingrid Howard.”
“Yes, ma’am in a moment.” The receptionist automatically looked for name. It took her several moments before she informed her.
“… I apologize, ma’am but there’s no reservation under Ingrid Howard as of the moment.”
