Loving You Is Not An Accident: It’s Destiny - 95 I WON’T LET THAT HAPPEN
The article contained speculations that the child was born out of wedlock and that they were forced to secretly married. Some article unearth Ingrid’s past and it showed that she did an IVF six years ago, more or less, in a distinguished fertility clinic of which he knew who was the owner.
He continued to read the article involving Ingrid and the child’s life but only little information was revealed. A thought then struck him.
‘Is this a coincidence?’
He then calculated the last time he went there and Clark’s age to determine the accuracy of the events. His head started to thump because of the possibility that Clark could be his son or that his seed was mistakenly given to Ingrid as Dr. Sam said that she sent him a letter years back.
Clifford recalled his purpose why he went on that fateful day.
He has no reason to get married that’s why he donated his seed to a fertility clinic that when the time comes that he needs it, he would just hire somebody to carry his heir without the hassle of being with the mother of the child or that he needed to develop intimate relationship with her because he definitely has no time for that.
His other reason was that he could not afford to make a family because his sole focus was to invest, build and earn lots of money and then retire without the thought of some strained relationship a marriage could give. To him, marriage is a shackle; he just doesn’t to be tied down.
He needed to know what happened after he deposited his seed to that clinic.
Ingrid was flipping through the pages of a magazine while they waited for the plane, and Clark was seriously reading his book in a distance not minding the people around him.
Clifford walked to her direction and sat down beside her and contemplated if he should divulge the article to her or not. But the urge of telling her is much stronger.
“Ingrid, I want to show something to you that may enrage you but please try to be calm after,” his voice was soothing so that this feisty woman won’t react hastily.
He handed over the iPad to her and waited for her to react. He saw the furrowing of her brows, that slowly turned to annoyance and clenching of her teeth.
“Who did this? Who started this? What’s their reason behind all of this? Find out who took those pictures and bring that person in front of me.” Clifford brows rose, weighing his next move, observing her if she still could hold her composure.
“Very well. But I’ll show you another one.” Then he showed an article exposing her IVF pregnancy and Clark as the result.
Her mouth fell open and she became speechless.
“I have to warn you that the press are already waiting for our arrival. What do you want me to do?” his voice is full of authority that whatever she desired to do, that he will obey.
Ingrid was alarmed by the article, she looked at her innocent child and she started to panic, she could no longer think straight. She doesn’t want her son to be bullied or be exposed to some dirty works of the press just because he is without a father or that he was not procreated naturally.
“Oh God! No, not my son, not him. Please do whatever you think is the best for my son. He should not be dragged in this mess.” Her tears started to fell but she kept on brushing it so that her son will not see it.
She may be tough and would face any challenge that may come along her way. She may be resolute and would not be easily shaken when it comes to her work or not easily back down to any attacks that some may hurl against her. But when it comes to Clark she panic easily. She would do anything just to protect her child even if it means that she needs to get married.
Clifford could not stand looking at a woman who is about to cry in front of him. He has a soft spot for such especially that the woman who is about to cry is not just an ordinary one. He embraced her and comforted her by caressing her back.
“Ssshhh, I won’t let that happen. But before I protect you both, please tell me if this article is true or not.”
