Loving You Too Much - Chapter 407
The water felt cold against her skin, however, her body trembled not because of the cold. After vomiting almost everything from her stomach, Li Qin Yao felt her body weakened.
She continued to splash some water on her face and stopped once she felt a bit refreshed. She stared at her reflection on the mirror and thought of what was going on with her body.
Her daughter had made her some egg sandwiches for her, however, Li Qin Yao found it hard to take a bite. The smell of boiled eggs mixed with mayonnaise was making her nauseous.
It seemed like recently, she was a bit sėnsɨtɨvė towards a certain smell…
A thought crossed her mind and Li Qin Yao pulled out a few towel paper to wipe the water dry from her face before she walked out of the restroom.
“What’s wrong with you?” Yin Mei Xuan asked as her friend walked over to the table with a pale face.
“Hold on,” Li Qin Yao panted. She grabbed her bag and pulled out her phone.
These days, they were trying to get a second child and she wondered if perhaps she was…
Her mind went blank upon checking at her menstrual calendar on the phone. She had missed her period for a month and did not even realize it!
It was then that Li Qin Yao recalled that the past few weeks, she was busy helping with Zhang Yu Ying’s wedding that she had forgotten to take note of her menstrual cycle.
But wait…
Li Qin Yao bit at her lips and clenched her hand on the phone. Whatever it is, she should get herself tested before she made any conclusion. If she had told Zhang Yu Han this news and soon found out that it was a false alarm, they would both be disappointed.
She should get herself a few of those pregnancy test kits!
Feeling her friend’s intense gaze, Li Qin Yao finally snapped out of her trance.
“Yao Yao, what’s wrong?” It was Auntie Yu’s turn to ask.
Li Qin Yao shifted her gaze at both Yin Mei Xuan and Auntie Yu and smiled to ȧssure them. “It’s nothing. I just thought of something that I have to do.” She gathered her belongings and turned to her daughter. “Li Xue, let’s go. Didn’t you say you wanted to see your grandmother?”
…
Once she arrived at her mother’s apartment, Li Qin Yao greeted her mother briefly before she hurried into the bathroom.
Xu Yilan frowned as she looked at her daughter. Then, she turned to her granddaughter and raised a brow. “What’s wrong with your mommy? Stomach ache?”
Zhang Li Xue lifted her shoulders. “I don’t know. Grandma Yu said my mommy might be feeling unwell.”
“Unwell?”
“En,” she nodded. “Earlier, mommy did not eat that much. Grandmother,” Zhang Li Xue raised the paper bag in her hand. “I made egg sandwiches with Grandmother Yu earlier. Do you want to have a taste? It’s very good.”
Xu Yilan frowned as she looked at the direction of the bathroom. Then, she turned to her granddaughter and smiled. “Let me get a plate and we will eat together alright?”
…
Meanwhile, Li Qin Yao clenched at her fists as she waited for the stick to tell her the answer she was looking for.
When she was pregnant with Li Xue, she had never tried to test herself with the pregnancy test kit.
Back then, she almost got into an accident and the doctor had given her a surprise when the doctor announced that she was pregnant after giving her a body checkup.
This time, she had suspected that she was pregnant after feeling nauseous at smelling certain food.
A few days ago, it was the fish that she had bought from the market. She had thought that perhaps, the fish was not as fresh as it looked. Just now, it was the mashed hard boil egg sandwich that Li Xue had prepared for her.
Therefore, once she left the cafe, Li Qin Yao had stopped by the pharmacy and bought a few boxes of pregnancy test kit before they head over to her mother’s apartment.
Suddenly, she was anxious and the waiting was torturing her.
Li Qin Yao would check on her phone every ten seconds to see whether she could check on the test result.
The phone on the counter beeped, signaling that the waiting game is over.
Li Qin Yao reached for one stick and her breath hitched. Then, she started to pick up the second test, and the third… each of them told her that she was pregnant.
She sat down on the toilet seat and took a deep breath to calm down. Then, she stared at the test kit again, and suddenly, a smile bloomed on her face.
She was pregnant again!
Li Qin Yao reached for her phone and was about to dial her husband’s number when she recalled that he was on his flight. It will be an hour later until he reached his destination.
She wanted to share with her husband of this happy news but was unable to reach him at the moment.
Li Qin Yao squeezed her eyes shut and took a few deep breaths. She snapped a few photos of the result and cleaned up her belongings before she walked out of the bathroom.
“Yao Yao, what’s wrong?” Xu Yilan stood up and walked over to her daughter. “Li Xue said you’re not feeling good. What is it?” She stretched her hand to touch her daughter’s forehead and her frown disappeared upon finding that her daughter did not have a fever. She met her daughter’s gaze and asked, “Headache?”
“No. Ma, I’m fine. Don’t worry.” Li Qin Yao smiled.
Xu Yilan sighed. “It was your daughter who was worried. She told me that you are feeling unwell and asked me to teach her how to make porridge for you because you did not have an appetite.”
Li Qin Yao shifted her gaze towards her daughter who was eating a small bowl of cashew nuts as she peered quietly at them. Her gaze softened and Li Qin Yao smiled. “Ma, I’m fine. I’ll talk to Li Xue later and tell her that I’m alright. I won’t make her worry over me.”
“Really?” Xu Yilan frowned as she continued to study her daughter’s expression. Her instinct as a mother told her that her daughter was hiding something from her.
“En,” Li Qin Yao nodded “It’s just that.” She paused and a chuckle escaped her. “Li Xue might be getting a sibling soon.”
“Ah?” Xu Yilan’s eyes widened upon hearing the news.
