Loving You Too Much - Chapter 444
The next time Han Yue Xiu went to the Song’s residence again, her best friend, Li Qin Yao was facing a big scandal. At that time, something happened at the construction site and Li Qin Yao was accused of some crimes.
Once Han Yue Xiu heard about the accident on the site, she immediately tried to contact her friend. Even though her friend had ȧssured her that she was alright, Han Yue Xiu simply could not sit still.
She had been by Li Qin Yao’s side after her friend was forced to leave QL Group and knew how much her friend was suffering.
Now that the same incident happened again, Han Yue Xiu wanted to stay by her side to give her support.
Fortunately, this time, Yao Yao had her husband and the family who would always stay by her side. Knowing that Zhang Yu Han was beside her friend, Han Yue Xiu was relieved.
Meanwhile, she continued to be in contact with Zhang Yu Han to know better about the situation. Knowing her best friend, Yao Yao would tell her that everything was alright so that she would not worry too much.
Once Han Yue Xiu heard that the matter was in the investigation and the report will come out soon, she went to discuss with Song Yi and the two of them took a flight to Y City.
When they arrived, the sky was starting to turn dark.
It was then that Han Yue Xiu remembered that she had forgotten to book a room to stay.
Just as she was browsing through some website, Song Yi appeared by her side and put his arms around her waist. He peeked at her phone and frowned.
“What are you doing?” Han Yue Xiu asked.
“My grandmother heard that we are coming to Y City and had asked me to bring you home for dinner,” Song Yi said. “What do you think?”
Hearing that it was his grandmother who wanted him to bring her home, Han Yue Xiu agreed. Anyway, she can always leave after dinner and find a hotel room later.
Song Yi led her to the arrival hall and the two met with a driver that was sent by Song Yi’s grandmother to pick them up.
“Grandmother,” Han Yue Xiu greeted.
Grandmother Song smiled. “It’s good that you’re here. I heard about what was going on with your friend,” Grandmother Song said as she held on Han Yue Xiu’s hand. “If there’s anything that we can do to help, just say it. The Song family is not without influence.”
“Thank you, grandmother.” Han Yue Xiu smiled. “I really appreciate that. But we still aren’t aware of the situation. Tomorrow, I will head over to their place and figure out what was going on.”
Grandmother Song nodded before she turned to call an auntie to prepare some dishes.
“Since you are here, just stay here at the residence for as long as you’re staying in Y City,” Mother Song said. “We have cleaned up a guest room for you.”
“That’s right,” Grandmother Song agreed. “Just stay here and save your money. There are a lot of empty rooms in this house. Later, you can accompany me for a chat.”
Han Yue Xiu turned to Song Yi to ask him to help her to decline, but the man only smiled and shrug, telling her to make her decision. Han Yue Xiu turned to the two ladies and was surprised to meet their expectant gaze. It seemed that if she declined their offer, the two women would be disappointed.
Her resolution started to waver under the women’s gaze.
“Are you shy?” Grandmother Song asked. “There’s nothing to be shy about. Anyway, sooner or later, we are going to be a family, right?”
Han Yue Xiu stared at the elder woman with a dazed expression. Before she could say a word, Grandmother Song had already walked away to check on the food in the kitchen.
Once she had regained her composure, Han Yue Xiu turned to look at Song Yi but found that he was answering a phone call from work.
“Come on,” Mother Song touched at Han Yue Xiu’s arms and smiled. “I’ll take you to your room to rest.”
Han Yue Xiu followed Mother Song to the second floor and was given a brief tour. Once she was brought to the room, Han Yue Xiu put her small luggage aside and noticed that Mother Song was watching her.
“If you need anything, you can tell it to Song Yi,” Mother Song said. “His room will be on your left.”
Han Yue Xiu flashed a smile. “Thank you.”
Seeing the way Han Yue Xiu was as still in front of her, Mother Han let out a soft laugh.
Mother Han could not deny that once she heard that her son was infatuated with a girl and had suggested to break off the engagement with Miss Fang, she was furious. She had thought that Han Yue Xiu was not a nice girl. That she was a temptress.
However, her perception soon changed after Grandmother Song showed her the result of her investigation.
Han Yue Xiu was someone who befriended Miss Li from QL Group and her relationship with Zhang’s family was quite good. She did not need Song Yi if what she wanted was to rise in her social class.
Once she had learned a bit more about Han Yue Xiu, Mother Han began to like this girl a lot more. Though Han Yue Xiu might seem a little awkward, she was someone who knew how to protect herself. Even if she stayed with her son, Mother Song was convinced that she was not someone who will drag him down.
Mother Han had noticed how her son had changed after he dated Han Yue Xiu and thought that this girl was a good influence on him.
“You don’t need to be uncomfortable,” Mother Song said. “It was not like we are going to eat you. Just make yourself at home.”
She really did not know how to be uncomfortable.
Now that she was left alone with Mother Song in the room, Han Yue Xiu kept thinking that Mother Song was going to do something and tell her that she was not suitable for her son.
Of course, whatever Han Yue Xiu was thinking for did not happen. Mother Han told her to rest well before the food will be done and left her.
As the door closed, Han Yue Xiu plopped down on the mattress and stared at the ceiling. Suddenly, she was very tired.
After settling their work, the two of them had to catch a flight and she had to face Song Yi’s family again upon landing in Y City. Everything that happened was draining her energy.
Han Yue Xiu rolled over the bed and took out her phone to inform Zhang Yu Han that they will be coming over in the morning. Just as the conversation finished, Han Yue Xiu heard a knock on the door. She opened the door and found Song Yi at the door.
“How is it? Comfortable? Do you need anything?”
“Everything is fine,” Han Yue Xiu flashed a hesitant smile. “Just that… everything felt strange.”
“You will get used to it soon.” He leaned forward to kiss her forehead and smiled. “My grandmother told me to call you to eat. Are you hungry?”
