Lucifer’s Descendant System - Chapter 303: The Final
“You will keep that promisse, right?” It was the female healer, and she held his hand before he left the room.
“I always keep my words. You will not die tonight,” he reassured her, as they walked out the room, still holding hands, much to Lilith’s frustration.
Noah and the allies walked down the path towards the stairs, walking up towards the arena. Noah saw as the host stood, silently, looking at one of the above cabins with a palish face. Noah was sure it had something to do with the asshats from the Hyu Family, and the dirty show they pulled on the semifinals, but there was nothing he could do about it, other than punish them for their sins.
Michael gave a qucik glimpse backwards, only enough to see them holding hands, and looked away after seeing Noah smile. Noah too was conscious that holding hands with her, in public, in a recorded place, would be something that didn’t quite fit him, and he also knew for a fact Lilith was not so happy about it for some reason, though he had no clue why. But, after all, holding a the hand of someone who’s afraid of dying is the least he could do as a person, or se he thought.
‘Noah, this fight looks rigged from the start,’ Lilith said to him, coiling around, and making he look up the the pale host.
“I see… We gotta do things right from the start, I’m guessing the point is that he won’t hear a concession,” Noah muttered out lout accidentally, making the healer look up at him.
“What did you mean by that?” she asked, surprising him, and making him blink a couple times before looking at her.
“Oh, sorry, I was talking to myself. I think the host is comfortable with something. There’s something fishy going on.” She squeezed his hand as he said this, though he could barely feel it under the armor. The group had arrived at their place on the 9 pointed star, with those of the Hyu family in a point that was almost perfectly opposite to them, making their eyes cross.
{And here are the two finalists of this arena! To one side, the Khan Family, coming back from a long absense, and showing us they are still one of the proud families in the 9 families. To the other, the fighters of the Hyu Family, showing their overwhelming might that crushes their opponents!}
Noah held himself back from frowning, as he heard how differently the host was treating the two families. It was almost like he was doing some sort of propaganda about them, which made Noah feel sick, and some of the blessed in his group rather angry.
‘Heh, that guy is looking down in you. Seems they have large amounts of confidence,’ Lilith teased him, coling up over his shoulder and back around his Neck, showing herself to the public.
‘Whatever, the prouder they are, the better they crumble after falling. Let them grow that confidence, before we crush their hopes,’ Noah said to her in his mind while smirking.
‘You sound joust like a demon, you know?’ Lilith’s voice was filled with a strange kind of pride, which made Noah smile wihtou thinking. In the meantime, the host was still talking shit about the two families, recalling the previous fights, and introducing this fight, which to Noah was incredibly boring anyway.
“I better go take my place. Things are about to begin,” the female healer said, letting go of his hand and hopping in front of him and giving Noah a hug. “Thank you so much for being here for me. It really means a lot, you’ve already saved me many times,” she said, with a smile on her face, until she grew silent, staring intently at Noah’s neck. Noah was about to ask what was happening, when he looked down to see the girl and the snake, whose head was hovering a couple inches in front of his neck, having a staring contest of sorts. To him, it seemed like the girl was under some kind of hipnosis or something, but he knew for a fact Lilith should not be capable of that. And since neither had told him a thing, he just stared in contemplation at the deathmatch of gazes right under him.
For everyone else, though, it just seemed like she had taken a second to cool off in front of him after hugging, since Lilith was a small snake. He was pretty sure people watching the recording could see what was happening, but he didn’t really mind it that much. Noah just let it be for a while, not really worrying about it, until he saw the healer’s hand slowly creep up to Lilith. Suddenly, he felt some kind of emotion whirl-up in the snake’s mind, and quckly interceded with just his words. “You two, are you gonna just stare at each other forever?” he asked, and both could hear him. The healer took a step back, retracting her hand, while the snake retracted herself to near his chest. He’d said this mostly because he knew Lilith didn’t particularly like being touched by others, or the girl. But it still felt they had some kind of connection, which made him curious.
“It’s gorgeous…” The girl said, still looking at the black snake in his neck. It was not the first time she’d seen Lilith, which made Noah feel a bit weirded by the sudden reaction.
“Excuse me? Oh, the snake, it’s a she, her name is Lilith,” he said, calming himself down and looking to see Lilith slide down his arm and stare at him.
“Oh, she’s very pretty. It was like I was bewitched for a second. Either way, I need to go now,” she said, turning around with her ears growing red.
‘What an odd girl…’ Lilith’s voice rung in his mind, making him ask himself what was going on.
‘Did something happen between the two of you? You felt like you guys were talking for a second,’ he said, pulling his arm up and the snake loser to his face.
‘Not really… But I felt a reaction for her for a second,’ Lilith started speaking, making him curious.
‘A reaction?’ he asked back, looking at the back of the girl who was happily jogging to the center of the group.
‘Yeah, it felt a little like I felt when I met your sister, and Carlos.’
‘Is it some sort of connection to me, then?’ Noah asked, not understanding her point.
‘No, not that, it’s the same with the Unicorn too… It’s almost like I can feel and relate to how much they look up to you. I think it’s something like that,’ Lilith tried to clarify, but didn’t make matters much clearer.
“Oh… So she trusts me that much…” After a second of thinking, Noah managed to piece together what Lilith was trying to say. As he understood it, she could feel the feelings people had when it came to seeing him as a trustworthy, or a superior person. And somehow, she suddenly felt this from this healer.
‘Looks like you’re not just a pretty face with nothing else, right?’ she said, joking around, as Noah walked towards where Michael and the scout were waiting.
“Shut up. A lot people are relying on me tonight. I have to be as reliable was they need me to,” Noah said, disregarding whether people would think something about the way he was speaking to himself. But he didn’t really mind it even if someone heard.
“Noah, you’re here. We’ll be relying on you for this fight. Sorry you have to bear with all that weight,” Michael welcomed him, his bow already in hand and ready for the beginning of the match.
“Don’t think too much about it. I’m doing this for a lot of people, but also for myself,” Noah broke his poker face with a slight frown, showing he was a bit angry.
“Oh, wow, for you to be this mad, I guess they tried messing with you pretty bad,” the scout mentioned, looknig and Noah with an amused expression.
“Not just try, my friend. They did. I just didn’t know it was them from the start. Now that I know it, they’ll have to learn their leasson.”
As he heard Noah say this, the scout had shivers going up his spine, and crossed looks with Michael for a second, before speaking, “Once again, remind me of thanking the gods for having you be on our side. I would hate to have you as an enemy, no matter the circumstances.”
“Good think my allies already know this. Now it’s time my enemies learn too,” Noah said, nodding to Michael, as he started hearing the coundown.

“Noah, are you sure you can deal with them?” Michael asked amid the words, waiting for the arena floor to rise.
{7}
“I am, I’ll just make it work somehow. Please help me wherever you can, they are not an easy enemy,” he said, looking straight at the members of the Hyu Family, and not taking a his eyes from the blessed who used poison for a single second.

“I’ll cover you wherever you need. Our scout here will also try and help you trimm out their numbers. I’m confident we can be of help,” Michael’s words were brimming with confidence, which Noah knew was a double edged sword.

“Sure, just make sure to do me a favor. Both of you. I promissed our healer she would make it home tonight. Help me keep that promisse,” he said, making Michael’s and the scout’s eyes widen.

“Will do, Let’s go,” Michael wrapped the conversation, as a loud and cheering {1} filled the venue, but there was no sign of movement from the walls of the arena floor.
{Begin the final round of the arena!}
