Lucifer’s Descendant System - Chapter 306: Unknown Skill
“Take them and leave,” he said to the Imp, turning away not to see, biting his lip in anger. As he heard the imp teleport away, he took a deep breath, increasing the flames once again, as a message appeared in front of his eyes.
[This person has committed countless sins. It is possible to absorb skills.]
[Absorbing fragment of divinity.]
Noah looked with anticipation to the words written with fire on the air, wondering whether he would get the invisible steps skill, since that would combo with his teleport without having to show his wings.
[Large fragment of divinity absorbed. Agility +15.]
Noah instantly felt his body grow lighter, as a boost of almost 25% in his agility, considering 10 points was the usual for a human being, was amazing. But he was still looking with anxiety for the skill he would get, since he was looking forward to it. However, the text did not come, and his anticipation turned into anxyousness.
‘You should hurry and check stuff out later, I don’t think you have the leisure to stay here for this long,’ Lilith’s words brough him back to reality, as he remembered what was going on outside.
Quickly, Noah dispelled the fire around him, leaving only the burning body still lit. While he was still slightly bothered by having had to kill her, the fact his mana had been refilled also made him thankful for her choice. Had him had to save her, by teleporting towards the waiting room of the Khan Family, he would’ve had to spend most of his remaining mana, as struggle to kill somebody to make up for it later on. As he left the ball of fire, the scene in front of him was not nearly as bad as he had expected from Lilith’s urgency. The mages were still fighting evenly, though some on his side were lightly injured. With the help of the imps, even though the Hyu Leader and his sidekick had arrived at the frontlines, that place was also at a standstill, with no people out of combat yet. If this had been any other fight, Noah would’ve said it was a boring turn of events. This time, however, it was one of the best possible outcomes, after all, he was not fighting. And he had taken out one of the enemy’s strongest fighters, though she had given up on living, which made his job a hell of a lot easier.
“Guess it’s time to stop playing around,” Noah murmured, as he slowly walked towards the Hyu Family’s backline. Immediately, a few of the mages turned and cast their blessings towards him, which he of course dodged by teleporting a few meters to the side. He enjoyed the frustration on their faces, until the image of fear projected on their eyes gave him an even more delicious scene. He knew this was bound to happen, as the two sides had been at a standstill. From the point they changed their targed, focusing on him, there was no longer enough firepower holding back the attacks from the Khan Family’s blessed, allowing ice and fire to rain on them, though only a few light injuries resulted from the bombarding. While Noah was a bit disappointed, having them worried about something else was a great tool for him. He though for a second about using his flashiest skill, but decided it would be a waste of mana, and decided to do something simpler, a Fire Ball.
Using the distraction from the blessings pouring onto them, Noah cast a pair of fireballs in his hands, before teleporting a few feet behind the Hyu Family’s healer. It was but a second, and the man turned as he felt the heat approaching him from behind. However, it was already too late, and when he noticed what was happening, his body was already engulfed in Noah’s flames.
He watched in awe, as the man’s limbs were quickly consumed by the flame, his blessing managing to regenerate a small portion of the destroyed tissue, before it was eaten by the flames once again. Without waiting for him to go down, since it could take a second, Noah teleported between the two men closest to them, both ranged blessed with fire specialty.
“Do you guys like playing with fire?” Noah asked, jokingly, as he teleported between the two, making them turn towards him. This time, however, Noah had already prepared himself, and the two had just cast strong skills to stop the pouring magic, which allowed Noah to go unpunished. Using the blades the victim of the Hyu family had given him, Noah ducked, cutting their aquiles tendons in the process, and bringing both to the ground in pain. Seeing the warriors around turn and run towards them, Noah quickly teleported away, watching as the Healer finally went silent on the ground, after burning for a handful of seconds.
[This person has committed many sins. It is possible to absorb their skill.]
Noah simply smiled, knowing this would serve to make him stronger, but the fact he’d teleported away mae people confused, and he heard the host mumble something above the sounds of the fight about letting his victims go.
“Nice!” Noah thought, as he saw the text show up in front of him, as he looked at the other enemies from a safe distance.
[Absorbing small fragment of divinity.]
Noah was shocked the man had died so quickly. But, in the end, it didn’t really matter to him. It was more fuel and more power. Him dying was welcome, but some people looked at him weirdly as they heard the host say those things. Noah, however, did not feel any thing but pride, since he’d managed his aim, as he saw those on the front lines look back towards him.
Without a healer and an assassin, they were easier targets, and the mere fact that he did not kill their blessed when he had the chance, was enough to bring the Hyu Family people into confusion and anger, feeling they had been looked down on. Noah was looking forward to use the opportunity from their derranged behavior to end this fight with less casualties for his side, but life would not be so fair.
A gust of wind hit him, as he saw the shield blessed use his blessing to push two ipms and a blessed from his team away. In that time, the leader rushed from behind him, slicing through both Imps and the blessed, who fell to the ground badly injured. Noah teleported to the fight, deflecting the blade aiming for the fallen warrior’s life, as he looked at the blessed from the Hyu Family in the eye. Noah’s confidence wavered, as he felt the incredible heft behind the man’s sword. Considering he had the upper hand in position, he could feel this guy was at least half as much stronger than he was, which meant his blessing was also one to give him a self-improvement effect, something Noah had already faintly expected, but not to this extent, especially after seeing in skill that coated his sword in light and could smite his enemies.
Realizing he couldn’t easily face him head on, Noah jumped back a few meters, still staring at the guy, who looked at him absentmindedly. A pair of messages appeared in front of him, stealing his concentration, as he quickly read the fiery words in front of his eyes.
[Skill: Double-edged Conviction was absorbed by the skill ??????????.]
[Small fragment of divinity absorbed, Mana +4, Stamina +1]
“WHAT THE FUCK!” Noah yelled out loud, making people in the arena look at him cautiously, as if looking at a lunatic, while Noah himself was fuming with anger. Not only did he not get the skill itself, it was absorbed by another unknown skill he didn’t even know yet. “Fuck! At least I can go back to—” he murmured to himself, in anger, until he stopped mid sentence, as another box of text appeared in front of his eyes, which made him actually feel relieved.
[Skill: Regenerative Healing was absorbed by the skill Hell’s Flames, Healing Flames can now reconstruct lost tissues by condensating the flames of hell themselves.]
‘At least one useful thing came out from this fight,’ he told Lilith, teleporting away towards the enemy’s back line, after commanding the Imps to start attacking on their own. ‘Since two already died, it’s time to let tham have some extra fun,’ he thought, seeing how happy the only imp who had access to eyes yet was. ‘Oh, fuck,” he thought, stopping the fire from burning the enemy healer’s head, at least until one of the imps could retrieve the eyes, ‘I better take care not to waste any of it,’ he said, while the army of imps started attacking all blessed of the Hyu Family without any reservation. ‘If you kill, you get the eyes for yourself. If you work together, two will get each. Have fun,’ he told the imps, whose fighting quickly became faster, “Exept you who has the Healing Flames. Stay and protect the healer. I will reward you after.”
Noah felt a sudden fear, as something was aiming for his life, and turned around, to see a glowing golden sword coming from above towards his head, ‘Shit, I can’t avoid it!’ He thought, crossing the two daggers in order to block the blow, which never came, or at least, not with any significant force, ‘Lilith!’ He cried internally, as he recognized the enemy’s strugge to exert any extra force on him, proving he was under her effect.
‘No need to thank me, deal with him,’ she said, as she watched the man strugge to fight her telekinectic powers, which were fairly cheap, since he was so close to them, but still not something she could afford without the issue of running through her extremely limited Mana.
Noah’s blades struck upwards, and a deafening yell of the Hyu Family’s leader resounded in th arena, drowining even the host’s voice.
