Lucifer’s Descendant System - Chapter 307: - The Devil Itself
‘No need to thank me, deal with him,’ she said, as she watched the man strugge to fight her telekinectic powers, which were fairly cheap, since he was so close to them, but still not something she could afford without the issue of running through her extremely limited Mana.
Noah’s blades struck upwards, and a deafening yell of the Hyu Family’s leader resounded in th arena, drowining even the host’s voice. Noah himself was surprised, the injuries he’d inflicted were not deep, just some small scratches to the underside of his arms since thsoe were the easiest target then, he’d aimed just to make him get a bit more distracted, but seeing his reaction felt like he’d just injured a giant baby.
“How dare you!” the man raised his arms even more, making his sword glow. “How dare you hurt me!?”
Even though he saw the openness of his stance, Noah was completely stupefied to even hit him. He just look at him with a blank expression, until a massive shielf popped up between them, making the Hyu Family member cancel his skill, and a gust of wind threw Noah a handful of feet back.
‘Did you just freeze?’ Lilith asked, though she too was surprised.
‘… I was just surprised, nothing more.’ Noah said while pondering about what had just happened, ‘Either way, now that both of them are here, the Imps should have some fun too.’ he said, forwarding the order to all the Imps, which began storming the Hyu Family members together with the bearded warrior. The standstill between him and those two was a bit artificial, since he himself had lost most of his will to fight someone so pathetic, but if this could make the fight easier on the rest, he wouldn’t complain.
Moreover, why did this guy with a shield jump between them out of nowhere just because he got a bit hurt? The question troubled Noah more than it should have, but it wasn’t that bad. From the corner of his eyes, he could see a couple people were already lightly injured on his side, and these two were now the biggest threats. Removing them would easen the burden on the rest of the team. “Why should I not have?” Noah taunted him, making the shield blessed tense up.
“The fuck you said?! I’ll kill you right now!” Noah smirked at his success as he saw the guy from the Hyu Family fuming.
“Young Master, please don’t! He’s—” the shield blessed turned around for a second, trying to alert his team’s leader, but Noah had already guessed the guy’s pride was much larger than his brain. And obviously, he saw the golden sword draw an arc through the air over the shield, and towards him.
‘So sloppy,’ he thought, as he took a sidestep, leaving the idiot to curse the heavens while trying to take his sword off the slit on the ground. “Is that the limit of your power? You’re pretty pointless, aren’t you?” Noah kept teasing him, while hopping onto either of his two feet, like a boxer from long before the start of the space expansion. Of course, he knew this was deeply offensive, but he just wanted to maki him lose his mind, so any methods would work.
“You shit!” Noah saw the light in his eyes change, as pure hatred painted his face, a change which Noah received with joy.
“What? Too afraid to stop hiding behind your Paladin, Princess?” Noah jeered as he threw a glance over the two’s shoulders to see a warrior being swarmed and dismantled by the Imps. ‘Don’t destroy the bodies too much after they die, I still want to be able to burn them without having to use a broom to sweep them together. Just make sure to take the eyes,’ Noah felt like he could hear the sinister laughter of the Imps after he relayed his message. This and the fact he could see his team taking a large advantage made him less attentious, which almost cost him his life.
‘CAREFUL!’ Lilith’s voice made him inadvertently teleport a few feet away, just in time to see a large icicle hit the place he was once standing.
“How dare you run from me!” Noah almost felt scared of the massive hunk of ice thrown at him, but the Hyu Family’s leader derranged reaction left him flabbergasted.
‘Did this guy really not realize I just dodged the proverbial bullet? Or is he just that retarded?’ Noah asked himself and Lilith, who promptly answered.
‘You should stop playing around, you know? You still need to end this fight, and your mana is going down steadily.’ Lilith said, making Noah realize he’d spent a quarter of his mana already, and that he was not recovering near any of it, since he was no longer burning anybody, the dead’s remains already turned into ash in the wind.
“Sorry, I’ll stop,” he said, as he put away his new favorite pair of daggers.
“Oh, you’ve finally chosen to apologize?” Noah looked in disbelief as the two men from the Hyu family slowly walked, side by side, towards where he was standing. “I’m in a good mood today, so I’ll let it slide so long as you kneel in front of everyone and work for me for free to apologize for what you did.”
To Noah, his words just sounded like the mumbling of a dying man, but he figured he could tell him about his confusion. “Oh, sorry, I wasn’t talking to you. Care to resume our fight?”
“You!” the leader of the Hyu boled in anger, raising his sword up high despite the shield blessed’s protest. As Noah saw the derrangement in his eyes, he knew it was time. ‘I’ll shred him to bits! He doesn’t even have a weapon, what can he do against this mighty me?!’ Raising his sword high, he activated his most powerful blessing. As he jumped, he pointed his sword downwards, and an illusion of a massive sword clad in gold appeared around him.
‘Such a show-off…’ Noah thought, as he saw the excessive clout. ‘Did this retard forget I can literally teleport?’ he stared at the oncoming blade absentmindedly, before teleporting away when he was certain the Hyu leader could no longer stop his momentum.
“GOT YOU!” the Hyu family leader yelled, as dust rose from the arena. His sword was deeply embedded into the stone, enough he couldn’t even move it anymore.
“Did you seriously think I would be hit by such a thoughless attack?” Noah’s voice rang behind him, making him turn around in a hurry, but the clout of dust obscured his vision.
“What?! Didn’t you stop running away?” the Hyu Family leader said, turning around and looking in every direction, seaching for the source of the voice.
“I never ran away. I just didn’t care to face you head on,” Noah shurugged, as he landed back on the ground and retracted his wings. With the cover of the dust, he was certain nobody could see more than a shadow. He’d already confirmed the safety of those he cared, so now it was time for this guy’s punishment. “You see… Today I learned a lot about the business you of the Hyu Family do. I heard a lot from that woman who used poison.”
“Hiiie!” the Hyu family leader let ou a shriek, as Noah’s claws slid around his Neck, leaving a small cut. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, we just deal with banks and businesses!”
“Ah, yes, banks. You know, she told me a story, about how you used them. How when they couldn’t pay you would force them to work to death with absurd interest rates. You know all that, right?” Noah provoked him, as the voice of the shield blessed slowly grew louder. “It seems we have a visitor, I don’t like being interrupted.” Disregarding his mana expenditure, Noah repeated what he’d done earlier when talking to the poison blessed, and a dome of fire appeared around them, isolating the two from the fight outside.
“What are you doing?! They won’t let you escape! They’ll never fogive you for touching me!” the Hyu Family leader said while pulling his sword, trying to move it off the stone floor. He looked up, to see the walls of fire isolating them from the outside. “What do you want?! Is it money? I can give you!”
“You see… she told me a story, about how you pressured her mother to death, and how her sister died diving into fortresses she couldn’t manage as a blessed, because of what you did. I couldn’t care less though, it’s none of my business,” Noah said this, teleporting by the man’s side. “However,” he slashed with his claw, leaving a deep cut on the man’s thigh.
“AHH! Why?! You said it was none of your business! What do you want from me? I’ll give you money! I can give you power!” The Hyu Family leader panicked. His sword was deeply embedded into the stone, stopping him from using any of his blessings, but the part which gave him a slight boost in strenght.
“I don’t any of those things. I want your life.” Noah slashed once again cutting his other thigh all the way to the bone, and making him collapse. “Don’t worry. You won’t die too quickly, these claws also cauterize your injury so you won’t bleed out.” he said, checking his [Fire Claws] as the head slowly increased.
“You wait and see! They won’t ever let you leave this place! They’ll kill you on the spot,” he said, giving up on trying to buy Noah’s pitty. “Wait for it, I’ll go and get the elders of the Hyu Family! They’ll grind you into minced meat and feed it to the pigs! You and that sister of yours!”
“What did you just say?” Noah, who was checking on the battle across the fire turned in anger, his eyes burning in rage, as he subsconsciously activated a skill he had planned on hiding tonight.
“HIIIIE!” Earning a deafening shriek from the man on the ground, who was now staring at the devil himself.
