Lucifer’s Descendant System - Chapter 309: - Payback
‘So this is the power of a B Rank Blessed,’ he thought, realizing without his careful planning and Lilith’s support, he would probably have been struck down already. But he was still not using his all. ‘I’ll go for it!’ he yelled at himself and Lilith, materializing another fire dagger in his other hand, and slicing from the side as his feet hit the ground, attacking the enemy’s uncovered side, in the hopes of making at least some damage.
“You won’t!” But as soon as he started moving, the enemy’s voice warned him he had been read, and his newly formed fire dagger had already been stopped dead on its tracks by another dagger equal to the one the enemy was using.
‘Fuck! He had another one?’ Noah though in anger, realizing the asshole in front of him was only pretending since the beginning. He jumped back, but the Hyu team leader matched his pace, slashing through his guard.
“Argh…!” Noah grunted and gritted his teeth as he blocked the golden glowing blade at an odd angle, his wrist screaming in pain at force in a weird direction. But he still had another dagger.
Noah slashed with his other hand towards the enemy’s extended arm, forcing him to back down. At this very moment, Noah saw another chance. His body went up in flames as he tunelled his way above the obnoxious member of the hyu family. Both his blades drew arcs in parallel, catching the enemy team leader off guard.
Noah felt his heart skip a beat. Something was terribly wrong.
‘Noah!’ Lilith’s mental scream was enogh for him to undestand what was happening. He’d been read. A blowing golden blade was piercing through the air towards his chest at an absurd speed.
‘He’ll get me before I reach him…’ Noah thought, trying to see a way out of this situation. ‘Oh!’ He suddenly arrived at an obvious conclusion. He didn’t need to take the blade. He didn’t even needed to be there at all. ‘But do I have enough time?’ he thought to himself, realizing there was not enough time to use [Hell Tunneling] once again. But he had materialized flames into a blade, what about a shield? The completely insane idea became more and more logical, and time seemed to flow at a slower pace as he bet his life onto this very attempt.
Flames poured from his chest, being sucked but what looked like a pitch black hole in reality itself. Noah poured fire as fast as he could. In a split second, almost half of his remaining mana had been completely drained. And the tip of the golden blade touched the dark substance, now turned fiery, with a clanking sound. Noah watched with a grin as his enemy’s blade bounced down, passing harmlessly to the side of his body. And his daggers made contact.
“FUUUCK!” the Hyu team leader screamed in pain as one of Noah’s daggers dug deeply into his right shoulder, severing bone and muscle alike. He’d somehow managed to pull his other hand up, blocking Noah’s other dagger with much difficulty. He jumped back, giving some distance between them, as he tried to figure a way to femd off the pain. Noah was still surprised his Demon Form had little to no effect upon the man, ‘Guess it’s just level one, so not that impressive.’ For certain, he had expected it to have a fear inducing effect of sorts. However, much to Noah’s surprise, the wound he’d just inflicted upon the man quickly stopped bleeding.
As the leader of the Hyu family grinned at him proudly, Noah sighed, letting go of the flame daggers, which vanished into embers before hitting the ground. The shield he’d made had already disappeared since keeping it up was taking a toll on his remaining mana.
“Have you already given up? This was no fun at all!” the Hyu family leader taunted, as Noah started walking forwards slowly.
‘Noah? What’s going on?’ Lilith’s voice echoed in his mind, and he responded in silence.
‘It’s ok. I have a plan. Just give me a couple seconds.’ Despite not understanding how he’d managed to completely stop the bleeding, one thing he knew for sure. He would die of he was killed. And that was his entire plan. But just those words were enough to quell the aprehension in Lilith. She trusted him more than anyone, the only person who reminded her of her lord.
“What? Are you not coming?” the Hyu family leader yelled, a broad grin on his face. Noah knew that behind that facade was a person full of anxiety, but there was little for him to worry about now, since this guy was so worried about Noah’s slow approach he had failed to realize how much the temperature had already risen. And also, how closer to his back the fire dome had already become.
“Me? Why should I hurry to approach a nobody like you? I can just walk on my own accord,” Noah responded in kin, making the prideful youngster frown.
“You!” The Hyu family leader jumped up, his daggers glowing brightly.
‘Is he gonna do that with both at the same time?!’ Noah was surprised, and caught off guard by him pulling something this stupid off. With a double handed sword, he was not sure he could properly block of parry even using both daggers, and since the power did not come from the weapon, but from the skill, his guess was easily right that blocking both at once would be suicide. Betting he wouldn’t be able to change directions, Noah used [Hell Tunelling] once again, appearing in a ball of flames a few feet behind where the young master of the enemy clan had jumped up from. As soon as he materialized on the other side though, he saw something that left him both surprised and fearful.
Mid-air, the Hyu clan leader turned, using one of his daggers as a source of momentum, changing the direction of his jump like it was magic, and in that moment, Noah saw what looked like a hallucination. A gigantic golden sword appeared atop the man, falling down towards him at incredible speed. His senses screamed at him to run, even with Pyakugan he could not find a way to dodge or escape that enormous sword, which he knew for a fact was a strong blessed technique, probably this guy’s trump. But Noah still had one thing on his favor. As the gigantic sword and the blessed slowly fell upon him, he felt the heat emanating from the wall of fire inches behind, and recalled how he’d delt with the poison blessed just before. All he needed was the perfect timing.
“You’re dead!” his opponent screamed atop his lungs as he lunged forward, the edge of his blade matching the descent of the gigantic sword. But both blades stopped a mere inches from Noah’s face. Wide-eyed the huy camily leader coughed blood, suspended in the air. A long spike of flames piercing his abdomen, suspending him mid-air, while a pair of thinner ones went through his shoulders, severing the tendons and nerves that controlled his arms. He looked downwards to see Noah stare at him with a deadpan expression, without any hint of happiness or anger, as his hands dropped the blades to the ground. He was not bleeding, since his injures were instantly cauterized by the hot spikes. He could feel the blood boiling in his wounds, but as a B Rank Blessed, this was not enough to kill him. ‘I’m… dead,’ he thought, losing his once proud demeanor, and letting his head lower, as he saw Noah condense his flames into a single fire dagger, ready to reap his life.
Noah was holding himself back from celebrating right there and then. He still wanted to make this man suffer, but the battle was not comfortable enough he could just spend his time here. There were only ten more minutes to the end of the fight, and he could notice many of his Imps were now dead. Namely, the imp with Fire Claw and many weaker imps were already done for. So far, less than half of his comrades had been downed, all apparently still alive, but the fight was still matched. Losses on both sides were about the same, thanks to the Blessed with a shield. Noah knew he had to take this guy to the grave quickly if he wanted to guarantee his victory, which he needed since he’d bet a lot of money on himself.
“Gha!” The Hyu family leader gnawled as the other side of his abdomen was pierced by a thin needle of fire, right through his kidnew. “Kill me already!” he managed to squeeze while induring the pain, before half a dozen of those pierced through his chest, puncturing his lungs.
“Why? I’ve just gotten started.” Noah looked at him, half-closing his eyes. “Weren’t you the one who was so fond of doing this to people? Why not enjoy it yourself?” Noah said while kneeling and retrieving the daggers the young master had dropped. They looked to be Blessed Weapons, of B rank nonetheless. Weapons like these could fetch an amazing price, and Noah surely would know how to use them. But first,
“Urgh!” The Hyu family leader grunted, holding himself back from screaming. Every small breath he took felt like he was ripping his lungs to shredds. The needles pierced through him were slowly slicing his lungs as he breathed, and making any effort to speak would make it even worse.. However, he could not hold himself entirely as both of his reserve blades pierced through his thighs, like he’d done to the XXXX Family member a few fights ago.
