Mage System In A Martial World - Chapter 10 The Figh
“Shit….” Adam cursed his luck seeing who was shouting, it was that goddamn cliche silk pants young master Zhu Zimin. He already expected them to find him sooner or later because of his clothes but not so soon, must be because he became a little famous in the city selling potions.
“Trash, do you think you would fool me with your little tricks? Hmph” Zhu Zimin snorted coldly with a face like he has figured it all.
“Yeah, trash like you can’t fool people with brilliant minds like young master” Random nameless lackey bootlicked without a trace of shame.
“Zhu Yun, enough of your bootlicking” Said him but his face had obvious traces of satisfaction. After the lackey said “Yes, young master” they came back to reality and stared at Adam with hate again.
“Now trash, time to punish you for shaming me, Zhu Zimin, like that!” He was making a enraged expression while cracking his knuckles, his lackeys making disgusting grins that would make someone want to punch them in the face. He probably was so confident because Adam don’t really do anything to him last time. This world is not a forgiving place and even staring at someone in a wrong way is enough reason to kill depending of the status difference. For Adam to let him off like that, that was either because he has no power and was scaring them or he was afraid of his family. And he was sure that it was the first.
“Calm down young master Zhu, let’s talk. I have the core with me here can’t i give it back to you and end this peacefully?” Adam was faking a scared expression and raising his hands in defeat while backing off to an alley. Curious people were already stopping to stare and he don’t want to reveal his powers to everyone.
“End this peacefully? I’ll let you know that everyone that dares to mess with me, Zhu Zimin, DO NOT HAVE A PEACEFUL END!” Zhu Zimin and his five lackeys followed him to the alley and disappeared from the curious people views. No one followed them but some people still choose to stay there waiting.
In the alley, Adam already had no more space to back off to and Zhu Zimin and his lackeys were already grinning.
“You five, go beat him up for me. He is probably a middle ranked Martial Apprentice, i’ll give a good reward to the one who hits the most.” Zhu Zimin ordered them while making a face of having everything in control.
“””YES, YOUNG MASTER!!!””” The five shouted excitedly and started running towards Adam. Zhu Zimin was after all a young master of the Zhu clan, his rewards were enough to make them risk fighting someone a minor realm higher than them. A middle ranked Martial Apprentice will be beaten up by five low ranked ones depending on how much time has passed since he advanced. If he has advanced recently he will be beaten up but if he already reached the pinnacle he can give them a good fight. Zhu Zimin know that and let his lackeys fight first so even he is stronger than him and beat his lackeys, he will get tired and be beaten up by him.
“Ding”
“New mission triggered, clear conditions : Beat Zhu Zimin and his lackeys. Reward, 300 points and a magic bag” The system cold mechanical voice sounded exactly at that moment, but Adam was busy chanting Fire Shield seeing the lackeys running towards him and payed little attention to it.
“Fire, become my shield and stop my enemies, Fire Shield” A triangular shield made of fire appeared in front of him startling the lackeys. One of them still didn’t stop running punched towards Adam while shouting.
“HAAAA” The shield moved at a incredible speed and meet his fist head on, stopping it completely. Just as the opponent became shocked, fire spit out from shield burning his hand and his entire arm.
“AAAHHHHHH, MY ARM!!!” He jumped on the floor and started rolling to extinguish the fire. Too bad for him, that fire was obviously not normal and was enhanced by magic power making it slightly hotter and hard to extinguish than normal fire, which let his arm that caught fire to turn in a unrecognizable burned mess and the rest of his body with moderate burns before extinguishing. He passed out just like that and don’t seems like he would be getting up any time soon.
The other four just stared at the scene with fear evident in their eyes, until one of them finally created courage and shouted “Let’s fight him at the same time!” causing the four to resume their fight.
Adam obviously wasn’t just staring at the scene the entire time and just ended the chant of a certain spell.
“Fire, mark my domain and harm those who trespasse it, Ring of Fire!” as he finished chanting a fire exited his body and formed some sort of circle with him in the center. The circle was 3 meters long and looked imposing, with the ground inside it taking a scarlet color and a line of fire marking it’s limits. The four lackeys were scared but still persisted forward and when they stepped in the line their body started getting slowly caught on fire.
“”AAAAAAHH!!!!””
They panicked and tried to get out of it. Actually Ring of Fire didn’t do damage enough to instantly kill or harm them but the previous scene of Fire Shield traumatized them.
“Fireball!” “Fireball!” “Fireball!”
Adam started casting fireballs like crazy without a care for his mana. After casting them, he got some mana potions from his bag and gulped them down in the spot and resumed casting Fireball. Adam was the most hated type of mage, a rich one. The type of mage that keeps spamming spells and drinking Mana Potions.
The lackeys were hit by the fireballs and some passed out, with the rest rolling in floor in pain. Adam glanced at Zhu Zimin who was staring shocked and smirked.
“Who are you?” Zhu Zimin asked in a terrified voice.
“Hmph” Adam snorted making the most arrogant pose he can think of.
“I am Adam Walker, From the Walker Clan. Our clan has the blood of the strongest fire spirit beasts in our veins. The likes of you can’t compare to it. I’ll let you all off today because i can’t be bothered to kill ants, but the next time this happens…” Adam shoot a fireball in Zhu Zimin chest making him fall down. He snorted and waved his staff, making the fire on the lackeys disappear completely like a dream. The only traces left of it being the burn marks on the ground and in the lackeys.
He walked away like that leaving a bewildered Zhu Zimin and his poor lackeys.
