Magic Recovering: Billion Folds Talent - Chapter 21
Andrew maintained the flame in his palm for a while before slowly withdrawing it. After fusing it with the molten heart, the red lotus flame couldn’t be activated by the power of the outside world. It could only be released when it was in coordination with the fire spirit in his body, therefore, it could not be released for too long.
After Andrew had fused an arcane rune into this spell, it should be considered a new type of spell.
‘I’ll just call it red lotus flare.’
Andrew gave it a new name. He could sense that the power contained in the arcane rune of the molten heart seemed to simulate the energy fluctuations within stars.
He closed his eyes and meditated for a while.
‘After awakening, the fire spirit, the space occupied by this little guy in the magic node will become limited.’
Andrew sensed the cheerful mood of the fire spirit.
‘Perhaps before advancing to an advanced mage, I can continue to head to the fire element world to absorb a few fire spirits.’
‘I reckon I can sustain this newly developed arcane level spell for a longer period.’
Andrew pondered silently and quickly decided on a training plan for the next period. Other than accumulating magic power, the most important thing was to try his best to fuse the fire spirit that he had awakened. He could faintly feel that… no, he estimated that every time he integrated, the quality of his magic power would increase by another time. By then, he could completely increase his combat strength by several times without advancing!
Andrew cleared his thoughts and got up from the cushion. He stretched his back and looked at the magic crystal that was almost scrapped for training, revealing a hint of awkwardness.
“Well, it seems that I need to make some contribution to the Association.”
He muttered to himself and left in a hurry.
…
In the next few days, Andrew fulfilled his duty as a Fellow of the Association, giving guidance to some beginner and intermediate mages. And the effect was a little too good to be true.
Andrew didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, especially with those fire mages. In the beginning, they were hesitant about Andrew’s guidance, but in the end, they simply respected him as a god. They discovered that this Fellow’s understanding of magic was unfathomable! No matter how tricky the question was, no matter how unpopular the mage was, Andrew still had some insights! Andrew, as a part-timer, was even more erudite than those legendary great mage-level figures!
“Mr. Smith, regarding the optimization of the fireball book, I still have a few questions!”
“I would like to ask, Mr. Smith, your application of the variation of the burning runes is too imaginative. This result can be reported to the association headquarters!”
“Mr. Smith, what is the difference between the nature of the runes used by intermediate mages and those used by beginner mages?”
“Wait, don’t push. I was the one who asked first!”
“What are you guys doing! If you are going to fight, you’ll make Mr. Smith unhappy. No one will be able to learn!”
Andrew sat in a living room of the Mage Association and looked at the group of beginner and intermediate mages. They were arguing over his guidance and he felt a little helpless.
At this moment, suddenly, someone’s phone rang. Then, as if it was contagious, people’s phones rang again and again. Finally, even Andrew’s phone rang, and an urgent voice came through.
“What’s the situation?”
Andrew took the phone and heard Lanza’s anxious voice.
“Mr. Smith, an intermediate magical beast, the Cyclops, has appeared outside the city! Outside the city, the beast tide in the Furlong Mountain Range is also showing signs of a riot! We can’t hold on much longer here. Quickly bring some people over to help.”
“I understand. I’ll bring some people over immediately.”
Andrew hung up the phone in silence. His expression did not look good.
‘A beast tide riot?’
‘The Cyclops still exists?’
‘This is not good.’
Andrew’s mood was a little depressed.
Magical beasts had already taken root on the Blue Planet in the past tens of thousands of years. However, magical beasts from ancient times were completely different from modern magical beasts.
The magical beasts themselves were soaked in a large number of magical elements, which resulted in their crystal cores, fur, and flesh having extremely high cultivation values. The result was that when the mage civilization of the Blue Planet reached a certain level of prestige, along with the explosion of the population and the number of mages, terrifying extermination was adopted against the magical beasts!
The mages crazily plundered the materials on these creatures, resulting in two consequences. One was that in the current era, the strength of any magical beast was at least several times that of a mage of the same level because the weaker ones had long been exterminated! Their strength was purely determined by the upper limit of the level of magic they could use! And the other result was that magical beasts had a great hatred towards humans!
Some powerful magical beasts would think of ways to gather their kind after they had a certain level of strength and charge towards the city. For them, devouring mages was also a good method of cultivation! Once the beast tide occurred, both sides would not rest until one side was dead! Either the city would be destroyed or all the magical beasts would be exterminated!
Andrew looked uncertain. His current strength was not weak; when facing an extremely large number of magical beasts, it might not be a problem for him to protect himself. However, what about Tim and Mary? After temporarily suppressing his emotions, he spoke to the group of mages who had followed him.
“The association has discovered a beast tide outside the city. There’s already a Cyclops not far from Rafax City.”
“All intermediate mages and above, follow me!”
As soon as Andrew finished speaking, the entire room immediately turned into an uproar. Many mages had come to receive guidance. Even if they were not fire-type mages, there were still quite a number who were willing to listen to Andrew’s opinion. Therefore, this place was almost the entire core strength of the Mage Association. However, these people who usually held extraordinary positions in the city were all shocked!
“How could a beast tide appear in a remote city like ours!”
“Yeah, what’s going on? Can Rafax City be defended?”
“If the beast tide is stronger, we should abandon the city and flee!”
The group of mages seemed to be a little afraid. On the contrary, Andrew sat calmly on his seat and did not say a word. Just the Cyclops alone was not enough to break the morale of these people. They nodded at Andrew with some hesitation.
“Mr. Fellow, let us go with you to support.”
“Okay.”
Andrew did not care about the loss of composure of these mages. He was worried about the safety of his children.
Seeing that the mysterious Fellow had spoken, the group of mages from the Mage Association quickly sorted out the magic scrolls and various casting resources. They directly used the airship within the Association to rush to the rescue.
…
Half an hour later, the airship slowly landed on top of a small hill. Andrew and the group of mages used magic power as a cushion and jumped down. Following that, they saw a three-meter tall humanoid monster appearing in front of them. Its entire body was grayish-white in color, there was only one huge eye on its forehead, and a strong horn. It was the Cyclops.
It was roaring at the sky! Its body was only covered in flowing lightning-like elements. With just a slight movement, it caused the surrounding ground and the mountains to shake, and the sand and stones nearby to shatter..
