Maid’s Night - Chapter 47. Epilogue
By tradition, the wedding ceremony and reception were both held at Evely’s grandfather’s mansion. William organized Evely’s wedding himself. At Evely’s request, the wedding was very small and modest, but nevertheless everything was rich.
William held Evely’s hand and spoke to her many times as if she was his daughter.
He said, “I will always be a reliable family home for you. You must live in abundance, Evely. May God’s blessings be with you always.”
William kissed Evely’s forehead. He was much older than the father she remembered, but she suddenly felt as if she saw her father through that wrinkled face.
Evely did not cry on her wedding day. Instead, she smiled brightly. It was a smile that was as refreshing as the sunlight on her head. Throughout the wedding ceremony, Evely laughed, and she seemed to be having more fun than anyone else at the reception. Alec, however, looked a little frozen.
After the wedding and reception, the bride and groom headed to the Count’s castle for their wedding night.
The servants and maids of honor moved diligently to set up the chamber of their masters. The flowers were changed to fresh and gorgeous ones to welcome the hostess, and all the furniture in the room was changed to suit the bride. After making all the preparations, the servants waited for the new master’s wife to arrive.
The sound of horseshoes beating on the floor rang out, and when the carriage stopped, the lady-in-waiting approached.
“Lady, you can’t take off the veil or talk.”
Thus Evely did not answer, but nodded. Then the lady-in-waiting took Evely around the castle, explaining here and there in detail. Evely knew the castle like the back of her hand, so it was strange to be guided as if she was a stranger.
The last place the maid stopped was a special room for the bride and groom.
“……and this is where you’re going to spend the night.”
Evely walked into the room, the door closed, and the maid retreated.
She sat on the bed and began to look around the room. The faint, sweet, mysterious scent, the dim light, all of it were prepared for today.
Evely blushed for no reason as she remembered the words ‘first night’. She had physical contact with him many times, but today she felt especially nervous.
Evely lay down on the bed to relieve the tension. Then, she raised herself up again, worried that her hair would look messy.
“When is he coming?”
How long did she wait?
Click.
Then she heard the door open and saw a tall man walk in. She couldn’t see properly because of the veil that blocked her view, but she could hear his footsteps more and more clearly.
As she was looking at the floor, feeling nervous, his voice fell.
“It’s amazing how you wait so quietly.”
The tone sounded strangely soft, and Evely raised her head to look at the man before her. Soon Alec looked down at Evely and grinned.
“You’re so well-behaved to spend with me.”
The bride had to stay quiet because of the tradition, not because of spending the night with him. Of course she should spend the night with him, but…
But of all the words that welled up in her throat, none of them could get out. Traditionally, the bride couldn’t say anything until the groom took down her veil.
Immediately Alec leaned down and stared at Evely. His gaze was soft, as if he was listening.
“I have to take the veil off….”
‘If you know what to do, please do it quickly.’
The veil was suffocating her, and Evely wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible.
“…… Why do I want to undress you first?”
“What?”
The question came out unexpectedly.
“What did you just say…….?”
And just as she was about to utter more words, Alec swallowed Evely’s lips.
In an instant, their lips stuck together, and no word could come out.
He devoured the inside of her mouth skillfully, and Evely accepted him aggressively. The kiss was heavy with a mixture of each other’s breath and saliva.
While their lips fell apart for a moment, Alec spoke with an oblique smile.
“Don’t you know that brides are not supposed to talk?”
At these words Evely pouted her lips, and Alec reached out and slowly peeled off her veil. As he ripped off the veil that hung over her head, a white face was clearly revealed. Evely, whose face flushed with embarrassment, spoke bluntly.
“……I…..who made this strange tradition?”
Alec chuckled at Evely’s cuteness.
He stroked Evely’s cheek with his firm hand. The softness of her cheek seemed to make him feel more and more sensitive down there.
He devoured her lips again and knocked her down on the bed. It made a mess of her dress and her hair, which was decorated at best. It felt like a waste, considering the trouble she went through to maintain her short hair, but unlike Evely, who was constantly concerned, Alec’s interest was solely elsewhere.
“I’m interested in…”
He removed his lips and now placed his hand on Evely’s chest. Then he grabbed her breast with his large hand. It wasn’t direct contact due to her wedding dress, but it was still strangely stimulating.
“…Lord, Master!”
The voice flowed out involuntarily in a panic. She had been calling him ‘Count’, but the word ‘Master’ popped out on their wedding night…
He said tolerantly, his fingertips brushing Evely’s lips.
“Yes. I am your master.”
“…I haven’t heard that in a long time.”
He often said it when Evely moaned, calling him ‘master’. It was as if to confirm that he was her master.
Evely squeaked as she remembered that moment, then suddenly Alec’s soft voice came to her ears.
“And now that we’re married, you’re my master, too.”
She stopped laughing for a moment and stared deeply at Alec.
His words, spat out in a faint voice, made her heart race strangely. All her senses and feelings were responding astutely to his gestures and words.
“Do you know how long I’ve waited for today?”
Alec buried his lips in her neck and Evely hugged him tightly. However, when she put her arms around him as best she could, she couldn’t get all of his body into her arms.
Alec laughed lightly, seeing how small and adorable Evely was, and then suddenly called out her name.
“Evely.”
Evely released her arms and looked Alec clearly in the eye.
There were times when he wanted to look into Evely’s eyes, whether when they were intimate, talked to her, or did nothing at all.
They were beautiful, bright, golden eyes that sparkled like stars in the night sky.
He liked the moment when those eyes stared at him. Maybe he was already possessed by those eyes, which were pleading towards him for the first time.
Like pretty little stars.
The stars were floating brilliantly outside the window.
He thought as he looked at Evely.
‘The stars will always stay with me.
The night will never end.’
