Male Lead, Don’t Push, Pull! - Chapter 8
I approached Kyle in a depressed mood.
Looking at that relaxed face made me even more depressed.
I hugged Kyle without saying a word, almost like I was falling onto him. Kyle flinched and called my name in a panic.
“Vivi?”
“Huhhhhh. I think I’m going to fail.”
Damn ancient language! What can I do with you?
As I whined, Kyle asked me carefully. “Didn’t you do well on the test?”
“I don’t know.”
I solved all the problems, but I was not sure that the answer I wrote was the correct answer.
Since ancient language could be interpreted in various ways, I had to look at the context as well, but that was too difficult for me.
I’d rather do math with correct answers, concrete answers where only one was real….
I didn’t know if it was a subject I had completely given up on, but since I decided to study it, I’ve been working hard on my own, so I felt even more regret.
Kyle, of course you passed, right? Was it the unbeatable male protagonist buff?
I grabbed Kyle and murmured sadly.
“If you get accepted, you will do your best and work hard…..You will go and make a lot of friends.”
“You are my only friend, Vivi. And I won’t go, unless I go with you.”
“There is no such a thing. If you pass and don’t enter the school, the emperor will surely say something. But if you don’t go because of me, then what do I become?”
I was about to hear that I failed because I couldn’t study.
Was I going to grab Kyle’s ankle and hold him back?
Where the hell would my reputation go?
After a moment of silence, Kyle gently patted me on the back.
“Don´t worry too much. You must have done a good job.”
“Is that so?”
“I taught you, so of course you’ll get accepted.”
“What if I fail?”
“….Ask the Marquis of Rosiere to lay the lawn.”
You said that method wouldn’t work, you dumb male lead!
Sob.
‘I think this life is doomed.’

Bright sunlight poured down on us. A cool breeze was blowing through the open window, carrying the gentle scent of flowers flowing from the garden. And delicious snacks covered the table on the outdoor terrace.
It was a perfect afternoon teatime, with no place to criticize…
“Vivi, don’t do that, sit here and have a snack.”
I had been circling around like a puppy in need of something.
Kyle urged me to sit down.
Unable to hide my nervousness, I rejected Kyle’s offer.
“No, Kyle. I can’t sit down. I’m so nervous.”
The test results were going to come out today!
I was dying of tension. Did I pass? What if I failed?
If I was going to be beaten, I’d rather be beaten up quickly, but at this rate I didn’t think this letter would arrive at all.
“Vivi.”
Kyle grabbed my hand and dragged me onto a chair.
Kyle scooped a spoonful of pudding himself and gave it to me, who couldn’t just sit still my butt.
“Come on, ah.”
“I don’t want to eat it.” I pouted.
“Don’t do that and have a bite.”
“If I eat it now, I probably won’t know whether I’m eating through my mouth or my nose. Some–”
Kyle just ignored me and pushed a spoon in through my open mouth.
The soft pudding slipped into my mouth in an instant. Before I could say anything, the pudding melted on my tongue.
Oh, it was delicious.
Kyle gave a small smile as my stiff expression softened a little.
“Is it delicious?”
“….Of course. It’s a dessert made by our genius chef.”
“So let’s eat while waiting.”
Then Kyle scooped up pudding for himself with the same spoon he used to feed me pudding with.
‘Oh? That went into my mouth, is that okay?’
I widened my eyes and looked at Kyle, but Kyle didn’t seem to mind.
Hmm…I guess it´s okay.
I felt like Kyle was acting strangely easy-going with me these days.
Now it seemed like he completely thought of me as his friend.
I had to be right, because he was calm even when I touched his body to apply medicine.
On the other hand….
“Oh, I’m sorry! Prince.”
“Be careful.” Kyle frowned and wiped his body with his hands.
This is because the maid’s hand, which was cleaning up the empty plate, touched his body slightly.
The maid bowed her head and backed away.
He hated being touched by other people.
I said inwardly sorry to the maid who was criticized for nothing.
This wasn’t the first time I’d seen Kyle hate being touched by people.
To be exact, he didn’t seem to like women’s hands touching his body.
This was what I learned recently, as I spent more time with Kyle.
Thanks to that, all of Kyle’s servants were male.
Knowingly or unknowingly, what happened with Titania seems to have become a trauma to Kyle.
In fact, even in the original work, Kyle’s personality was quite feisty in the beginning.
After meeting the heroine though, the wall in his heart lowered little by little
I wonder if he should meet the heroine as soon as possible.
“Miss! Your Highness the Prince! A letter arrived from the Arene Academy.”
“Oh god.”
I jumped up from my seat like a spring.
I quickly ran to Lisa and accepted the letter in her hand.
[Arene Academy]
My heart started to beat at the address of the sender, which was written beautifully in cursive.
Please! I have to pass! I can’t have a future where only I fail!
With trembling hands, I opened the pale blue envelope. I glanced at the letter.
[Dear Vivian Rosiere.
We certify that you have passed the admission process for the Arene Academy. We welcome you to grow with Arene.
Arene Academy President.]
“Ha, I passed!!”
Wow! I got in! I passed the test!
“Kyle! I got accepted!”
“Congratulations.”
“Thank you! What about Kyle? Did you pass?”
Kyle showed me a letter addressed to him. It was a pass.
“Wow! Congratulations!”
“Congratulations, Miss. Prince.”
Lisa, who was watching, congratulated us with a bright smile.
Oh, this was not the time. I had to let everyone in the neighborhood know that I passed the exam with Kyle.
“Kyle, get up.”
“Huh?”
“Hurry up. I have to brag about it quickly.”
That was how I brought the happy news to the people of the mansion with Kyle, who got dragged along.
The employees who heard about our acceptance….
“I knew you could do it! You did a great job!”
“Congratulations from the bottom of my heart! Prince!”
Everyone congratulated us with the utmost sincerity.
And on that day, there was a dinner party in my house to celebrate our acceptance.
It was a secret that Kyle, who was embarrassed at the end, covered his face.

The issue of admission to the academy, which I was worried about, was resolved safely and real freedom came.
Upon hearing the news, the emperor was quite satisfied. It seemed to satisfy him that this was the first result that Kyle achieved purely on his own.
And as a result, Kyle and I were invited directly by the emperor to enter the palace.
“Kyle, are my clothes okay? Aren’t they strange?” I asked Kyle in front of the huge glass greenhouse where we had teatime.
“They are not strange at all.” Kyle replied firmly.
Then he added belatedly, as if to reassure me, “It suits you, Vivi.”
“Really? Oh no, Kyle. I’m so nervous. It’s my first time seeing the emperor.”
“It’s all right. I’m with you.”
But I could see that Kyle, like me, was quite nervous.
The appearance of him shaking didn’t look like a son going to meet his father.
After Titania lost the emperor’s favor, Kyle’s position within the palace narrowed.
It must have been a long time since Kyle had such a personal meeting with the emperor because the emperor wasn’t the type of person who felt affection for his children.
Perhaps the emperor’ indifference was the reason why the empress kept Kyle in check even more severely.
I couldn’t believe he was a father who can only be seen after passing the entrance exam for Arene Academy.
He was really heartless.
“Kyle.”
I slowly reached out and took Kyle’s hand.
Kyle flinched and looked back at me.
I whispered.
“Let’s go inside hand in hand.”
“What?”
“Huh? I’m scared.”
In reality, I was scared, he was scared, we were all scared, but the more we felt that fear, the more we should work together, right?
Kyle, who seemed to be thinking for a while, nodded lightly.
Then he held my hand tightly.
“Don’t let go of my hand, Vivi.”
“Yes.”
We held hands side by side and crossed the door opened by an attendant, entering the glasshouse.
Compared to the hot weather outside, the glass greenhouse was surprisingly cool.
It seemed that a temperature maintenance device made of magic stones was in operation.
Not long after we walked down the pathway, we found Emperor Ishad sitting in front of a tea table reading some papers.
Feeling our presence, he turned his head.
The emperor with his long hair loosely tied gave off a very mature, yet unapproachable aura.
I thought the emperor in the novel was set up to be sick?
‘You look neater and healthier than I expected.’
Well, it was a long time before the original work even started.
The emperor’s unreadable eyes were directed at mine and Kyle’s hands.
