Harry’s eyes widened slightly as he read through the set of tabs and characters that appeared in front of his eyes.
To say he was surprised would be an understatement. This was the first time he actually met someone in the academy who had stats in the number of 80’s and 90’s.
While he did expect Nathan to have high stats; since he was a combat mage and combat mages were known to be more focused on physical abilities, he still hadn’t expected it to be this high.
Nathan’s stats were even higher than his! Some of his stats where still in the 70’s, while all the combat mage’s stats had crossed the 80’s, he even had a stats at 90.
Harry’s eyes squinted slightly, and in his mind, he wondered; at his current strength, would he be able to beat Nathan?
The thought didn’t linger on his mind for too long, and he closed the tab in front of him, deciding to focus on the fight that would soon take place.
Just then, Harry noticed a blonde-haired girl in a black and gold uniform seated at the other side of the hall.
Her eyes were also focused on the stage, to the point where it seemed like she was ignoring her surroundings.
‘So sarah is here too.’ He thought. Since he had been too focused on the ongoing duel, he didn’t noticed her.
She wasn’t the only elite student watching the duel though, there were also a few other elite students watching the duel.
This was something they usually did whenever there was a duel between elites.
Since all the elite students were more or less in a race to take over each other, they always try to gauge each of their strengths to know how they would fare against them.
However, not all all elite students were present as Harry couldn’t see Trent anywhere.
In fact, ever since that incident in the spell library, he hadn’t seen Trent anywhere in the academy.

Meanwhile, on the stage, Nathan’s brows suddenly squinted and a slight frown appeared on his face.
He could feel a light prickling sensation running through his body, making him feel his he was completely “open” and “bare”.
It was embarrassing to say at the least, since it felt like all his secrets and life were out in the open.
He instinctively turned his head towards the direction he felt that weird feeling coming from, however, apart from the crowd of students cheering for him, he couldn’t find anything odd or out of place.
The weird sensation only lasted for a few seconds, before it suddenly went away like it never happened, causing Nathan to subconsciously sigh in relief.
‘Was that just my imagination… yeah, it’s probably my imagination.’ Nathan thought, as he placed his focus back on the elite student in front of him.
As for Farhen, he scowled and then clenched his fists tightly.
To him, it seemed like Nathan was mocking him by taking his eyes off the fight and it made him annoyed.
‘Elementalists are more powerful than combat mages… I doubt the difference in our mana core stage would matter much.’ He thought, as the edges of his lips curved into a slight smile.
He had already thought of a way he would win this fight, and he doubted that his plan would fail.
Just then, the instructor standing at the side gave the order to start the match, causing the crowd of students to burst into a loud cheer.
Farhen suddenly jumped backwards in order to put some distance between him and Nathan.
Since Nathan was a combat mage, one thing he was trying to avoid was to engage in close combat with him.
He hurriedly channeled his elemental mana, letting it course through his body.
Surprisingly, Nathan still hadn’t made any move and only remained in the same position.
Stretching his hand forwards, Farhen immediately casted a spell.
Five thin wavy lines of water appeared in front of him, before each of the lines rapidly condensed into small darts with sharp, pointed edges.
“Water darts!” He shouted, and launched all five of the darts towards Nathan.
The small darts made purely of water travelled in the air with great speed, rapidly closing in on Nathan.
Due to their small sizes, they would be a lot harder to notice and dodge, which was why Farhen used this as his first attack.
However, just as the water darts were about to close in on Nathan, a slight smile suddenly appeared on his face.
He raised the bastard sword in his hands before swinging it towards the water darts, deflecting each and every one of them with great speed.
His sword was moving so fast that it seemed like a blur and despite making such rapid swings, his feet still remained stable on the ground.
*
Harry’s eyes widened slightly as he watched Nathan. Perhaps due to his high agility and intelligence, he could somewhat follow Nathan’s sword swings.
However, they still seemed quite fast, even to him. Each of them seemed to be filled with so much skill that they left him in awe.
While he was sure he would be able to dodge those water darts, that would be by him dashing to the side and not confronting it directly.
*
Seeing all his water darts get deflected so easily, a deep frown appeared on Farhen’s face.
‘I guess that’s to be expected.’ He thought.
Without wasting anytime, he immediately stretched his hands forward, before casting the same spell again.
However, his time, the number of water darts quadrupled, and twenty water darts appeared in front of him, before dashing towards Nathan with great speed and at different directions.
