Manaless Mage - Chapter 139 Team Event[1]
Chapter 139 Team Event[1]
He simply ignored it, feeling that it was his own nostalgia from when he and Trent used to be close.
Harry shook his head slightly and cleared every other thought from his head.
Nothing concerned him with Trent or what he was doing with his life, he should only focus on the ranking event.
For the past two weeks, the hype on the competition had been very high, especially due to the fact that the world inter-academy tournament was also going to held this year.
Since only the top twenty-five students would be chosen to participate in the competition, everyone was pretty hyped up about it and the discussion of the possible participants were trending all over the academy.
By now, everyone interested in participating in the event had either already chosen their teams or were randomly assigned to one.
According to the academy, the number of students participating in this year’s academy ranking event were a lot higher than the number of those that participated last year.
This was also because of the upcoming world tournament. Some students decided to try their luck and participate in the ranking event to see if they would be able to qualify for the tournament.
Last year, about one hundred and fifty(150) students participated in the ranking event, however, this year, exactly two hundred and fifty(250) students were going to participate in the ranking competition.
The ranking competition had three stages, or as some like to call it, three phases.
The ranking event usually lasted for at least two weeks as all the stages couldn’t be done in one day due to the number of students participating and the amount of preparation needed for each stage.
After the event, came the ‘theoretical’ yearly examination, which determined if a students would be promoted to the next year.
However, for the students in their final year like Harry, the examination more or less determined their graduation.
Each stage features a different type of competition or event, the winner(s) would then progress to the next stage, while the losers would be eliminated.
The type of events held in each stages were different every year, depending on the number of students that were participating and the academy itself.
However, one thing that was always common in every ranking event was the requirements of teams to pass the first stage.
Students were required to form teams of at least five to take part in the first stage. The teams would then compete with each other, the teams that won would then advance to the next stage, while the ones that lost would be unsurprisingly disqualified.
A few days ago, the academy announced the type of events and competitions that would be done in the upcoming competition.
This year, the team event was a “Flag-hunting competition”. Just as the name implied, it was practically a competition that dealt with obtaining and securing the opponents’ flag.
Two teams would compete in this event, and the one that ended up obtaining the other team’s flag would end up advancing to the next stage.
While it sounded simple, it wasn’t as easy as the teams would also have to focus on defending their own flag also.
Harry let out a light sigh and raised his head slightly.
He was currently heading to where Susan and the other three members of his team were located.
After sending Kerr off the team, Susan unsurprisingly found another person to fill his space within a short time, so now, their team had completed five again.
He didn’t know who they would be facing against in the flag-hunting contest. The teams were called randomly, and their opponent team were also chosen randomly.
Harry’s goal in this event wasn’t to get first rank or anything, he didn’t even plan on becoming one of the top ten students.
While he wasn’t sure about the strength of most of the elite students, he had a good grasp of his own strength, and he was sure that he would be able to get into the top-20 elite rank at least.
And if he gave it his all, he should be able to secure a spot for himself in the top-ten ranks.
Though, his pride was influencing his thoughts a bit, they still weren’t baseless.
However, he didn’t plan on getting into the top-ten ranks.
His main aim wasn’t winning the ranking competition, but qualifying for the tournament coming up in a few months from now.
Since only the top twenty-five students would be allowed to take part in the tournament, Harry planned on at least getting into the top twenty position.
Being a top ten elite student had Its benefits for sure, however; those advantages didn’t really benefit him much, especially since he was a manaless mage.
‘Let’s just see how all this goes.’ Harry mumbled inwardly with a slight smile on his face.

A few minutes later,
A blonde haired girl could be seen leaning on a pillar with a slight frown on her face.
Her face was round and very beautiful and her grey eyes had a weird shine that gave her an air of mysteriousness.
She had a slender, curvy body and even the black and gold uniform on her couldn’t completely hide her curves.
Standing beside her was a short girl with light pink hair. On the face of the pink-haired girl was a flustered expression as her eyes kept darting between Susan and her surroundings.
Even though Lin had practically seen Susan a lot of times during their training during the last few weeks, she still felt very nervous around her, especially after witnessing her strength.
No matter how many times they all fought with her, they never won, they never even came close to winning even once.
And to her, the most terrifying aspect of it all was that Susan wasn’t even using her full strength against them.
Just then, the figure of a brown haired boy appeared in the distance, causing Susan’s eyes to light up slightly.
“You’re late… Harry.” Susan said, with a slight frown on face. Updated 𝒏ov𝒆ls on 𝒏ov𝒆lbin(.)c𝒐m
Harry simply replied with a wry smile while scratching his head in embarrassment.
Lin suddenly turned her head away at that moment, feeling her cheeks burn red in embarrassment and her heart beat slightly faster.
‘He’s really handsome…’ She mumbled inwardly, feeling even more embarrassed at her thoughts.
For some reason, Harry’s face and appearance always seemed to get more handsome every time she saw him. She didn’t even know how Susan was still able to look him in the eye without getting flustered.
