Married To A Savage Duke - Chapter 32.1
“……!”
Lucy was watching!
Surprised by his confident physical contact, Cherryl slipped out of his arms.
He did something worse than this a while ago, but if she had kept an eye on his actions, it might turn out differently.
Lucy’s eyes widened after witnessing their public display of affection.
She didn’t expect them to kiss each other as soon as she arrived in the North!
The last time Lucy saw the pair, an awkward atmosphere surrounded the two.
A considerable amount of time had already passed, but both of them looked as fresh as lovers who had just started dating.
In particular, it was quite shocking to see a cold-blooded man, who looked like he could stab anyone with a sword in the blink-of-an-eye, express her affection.
If this wasn’t an illusion…
At first glance, bold love bites caught Lucy’s sight when Cherryl’s cloak was pushed to the end of her neck.
From those new traces alone, she could sufficiently infer what actions were exchanged between the two.
Both of them must be on really good terms.
Lucy knew how troubled Cherryl was about going to an unfamiliar place with a stranger.
Her mistress originally made the decision to avoid a lustful old man, but she had chosen this particular option because she was forced to.
She felt like she was already driven to the edge of the cliff.
Lucy got worried if her mistress was doing fine in the cold, barren wastelands of the North.
Now that Cherryl’s skinny frame had gained a little weight, she looked even better.
Upon witnessing how happy her mistress was, Lucy shed tears of joy in secret.
For a long time, she wished for the girl to have all the happiness in the world and everything she ever hoped for.
At that moment, several men revealed their existence in the secluded courtyard.
It appeared as if the Balkans had returned from Cole’s Coming-Of-Age Ceremony.
“Look over there. Sister and Boss are kissing again.” Cole whisper-shouted.
He must have thought he had lowered his voice enough, but unfortunately, Cherryl had heard that as well.
“Both of them were together throughout the Coming-Of-Age ceremony earlier, and they kept kissing each other in that event as well.”
“Don’t speak of it. The boss’ future wife is shy.”
“It’s a bit painful to see them kiss every time I glance in their direction. How can a single person live like this if the sight alone makes me sad?”
“Hey! The boss is looking over here. If you don’t want to die, lower your gaze and pretend you didn’t see such a thing.”
Cade’s six closest aides exchanged whispers, winking at them.
Suddenly, the man walking far behind the group tilted his head.
“What?”
It was Lecter, watching Cherryl and Cade with a puzzled expression.
He was black and blue all over as if Axel had beaten him hard mercilessly.
To be exact, Lecter was staring at Lucy standing in front of the carriage.
Unlike the other five people heading towards their rooms, Lecter changed direction and approached Cherryl.
“Lecter, where are you going?”
“I know her. Brothers, all of you can go in first.”
Lecter moved closer, lowered his upper body, and scrutinized Lucy’s face.
“You’re Lucy, right?”
Lucy looked surprised when her name was mentioned out of the blue.
As Cherryl observed the two’s reunion with interest, she glanced back at Cade and smiled playfully. “Yes, that’s right, Lecter.”
“Wow! Is it really you, Lucy? What are you doing up here in the North? It’s so nice to meet you. Are you here to see Cherryl?”
“No. I’m going to stay here forever.”
“Really? Good for you. I miss you so much. I’ve always wondered how you’re doing!”
“Who are you?”
“What?”
Lucy examined Lecter warily.
It wasn’t easy to recognize him after he turned into a chestnut due to his fierce duel with Axel.
“You must not have remembered me because of my current appearance. It’s me! You gave me a basket filled with food that night.”
Come to think of it.
Lecter and Lucy had the time to be alone after Cherryl ordered her to deliver him a basket filled with food.
At that time, the two promised to have a short and casual conversation.
“Don’t you remember? We shared some bread.”
“Oh, you’re Lecter!”
“You recognize me now?”
“What’s wrong with your face?”
“Axel beat me up in a duel. I won, so don’t get me wrong. If I knew you were here, I would have taken care of myself better.”
“Well, congratulations on winning the duel!”
Lecter grinned.
“It feels alright to win but ‘you congratulating me’ makes me feel good!”
When she hesitated because she had no idea what to do, Cherryl offered Lucy a helping hand.
“Lucy, why don’t you ask Lecter to carry your luggage, too?”
“Oh, my luggage is not too heavy——”
“It looks extremely heavy. So, Lecter, can you show Lucy to the servant’s quarters?”
“Of course.”
“Lucy must have had a lot of questions because it’s her first time here in the North. Please take good care of her in the future.”
“Sure, I’ll protect her with my life.”
Balkan men often give their lives once they made promises to protect someone.
As if he had received an unexpected gift as well, Lecter appeared ecstatic.
“Let’s go this way, Lucy. I’ll tell you where the Main Castle’s entrance is so that I can lead you to the servant’s quarters.”
Lucy, who had hesitated for a moment while looking at him, held Cherryl’s hand tightly.
“You don’t know how happy I am to meet you again, My Lady. I will adapt to this place as soon as possible and do my best to take care of you.”
“What are you talking about? Don’t worry about that. You’re my family now. I should be the one taking good care of you.”
“Miss…”
“I hope you will like Carlsvik. The castle might look creepy as hell from the outside but this is a place where good people reside.” Cherryl pushed Lucy’s back. “Go ahead and come to me whenever you need help. I’ll tell the Grand Duke about you, too.”
“Thank you, Lady Cherryl. Then, I’ll go in first and start unpacking.”
Lucy nodded in Cade’s direction before walking towards Lecter, who was already waiting with her luggage.
As she stared at their backs while they walked towards the main residence, Cherryl wrapped her hands around her cheeks.
