Married to the Protagonist - Chapter 203: Side Story 4 (2)
Ch.203 Side Story 4 (2)
She sighed, “Zaozao, don’t dislike Mummy for being too long-winded.”
The worst case would be that Yan Cheng and Chichi would have spoiled her so rotten that she became completely unruly. Now she still seems okay. They all say that one can tell what a person’s adulthood would look like based on how he was like when he was a kid, so she still had to discipline her.
“Mom wants Zaozao to become a pretty little girl.”
“Zaozao knows.” Yan Zaozao broke away from Chen Jinyao’s embrace, stood still, and then threw herself onto Chen Jinyao, as she cried and whimpered, “Mom, I was wrong about you.”
Chen Jinyao was slightly dazed by this sudden act: “???”
Yan Zaozao hugged tight onto Chen Jinyao’s slender waist, and refused to let go. Her unhappy tone mixed with a slight guilt: “It turns out that you love me the most.”
“Mummy.” She raised her head, “Zaozao loves you.”
Chen Jinyao said indifferently, as she tried to keep her cool, “Well, mother loves you too.”
Upon hearing this, Yan Zaozao grinned sweetly.
After a moment of silence.
She couldn’t sit still.
In fact, she inherited her brother, Yan Chi’s mantle.
Unknowingly, she became the family’s new chatterbox.
“Sigh, I was really wrong.” Yan Zaozao was finally willing to leave his mother’s arms and proceeded to stand beside her. With a long sigh, she shook her head with much frustration as the adults would do, and then said something unexpected, “I actually fell into those two treacherous officials, daddy and my brother’s trap, and I believed all their lies wholeheartedly.”
“But I forgot that faithful words grate upon the ear and that bitter medicine would bring effective results.”
“Mummy.”
“Am I right?”
“………”
Chen Jinyao’s lips twitched, she really didn’t know how to answer her.
Yan Zaozao clenched her small fist and said righteously: “Sure enough, the sweet words of men have no credibility to them.”
She fell deep into her own thoughts and kept mumbling.
Naturally, she didn’t notice how frightened her mother’s expression was.
And just when Chen Jinyao was left speechless, and was about to say something but unconsciously stopped, a white light flashed through Yan zaozao’s little head, and she seemed to have opened all her senses, her two chubby hands snapped together with a “pop”, “I know.”
“Daddy and my brother are treating me like this.…..”
“They’re fattening me up to be ready for slaughter!!!”
“……”
Chen Jinyao finally couldn’t hold back, she burst out laughing, and bent over from all the laughing.
After some time.
Chen Jinyao stood up and left the small living room.
Passing by Yan Zaozao,
She paused, squatted down, and got to the same level as the little girl.
“Zaozao, Mummy has another piece of advice.”
“Don’t watch the same TV shows as your brother.”
He pondered for a few seconds, as she pursed her lips: “Please.”
At dinner.
Yan Cheng and Yan Chi could tell with their sharp senses,
Yan Zaozao was slightly different today.
She happily tailed behind her mother, besides that, she didn’t even bat an eye at them.
Usually, his daughter/sister would be extremely clingy.
But now.
When the little girl walked past them,
She only gave a heavy “hmph”.
At the dinner table, when they gave her her favorite meat,
She would instantly return it.
Then, turning around, as she blinked her big eyes and looked at her mother, well-behaved manner, her voice was pleasant and sweet, “Mom, I want to have some vegetables.”
Yan Cheng and Yan Chi’s brows furrowed and realized that something was off.
This situation is not quite right!
Chen Jinyao raised her eyebrows and picked some vegetables for Yan Zaozao.
She turned and put down her chopsticks, her elbows rested on the table, with her hands on both sides of her cheeks, she looked at her dumbfounded father and brother, her eyes narrowed slightly, and she let out a slight chuckle, as she said softly: “I call this the fisherman benefit from the fight between the snipe and the clam.”
Yan Cheng: “……”
Yan Chi: “.…..”
After a moment of silence.
Seeing as the father and son both put on the same cold expression,
Chen Jinyao shrugged, and said fearlessly, “Yes, I was the one who fomented disunity.”
As soon as her words fell, the little girl who understood the meaning of her words, quickly defended her: “Mom didn’t.”
“It was father and brother.” The girl who wanted to be pretty pouted.
“As said on TV, if you don’t want anyone to find out, then don’t do it.”
After thinking about it, she still wasn’t able to work off her anger, “Hmph.”
Yan Cheng: “……”
Yan Chi: “……”
The father and son exchanged glances, both at a loss.
But such unrighted injustice, they somehow had to take the blame.
Later, Chen Jinyao couldn’t stand it any longer, and she kindly explained in a few brief sentences: “Please be more truthful on issues that Zaozao values.”
And she added on a sentence that she had emphasized for thousands of times: “Don’t spoil the kid rotten.” In terms of spoiling the child, you still have to set your limits.
Now that she thought about it, fortunately she had always played the black cop in between.
So her little girl, Yan Zaozao wasn’t spoilt rotten
“Zaozao.”
“Um.”
“Is mummy good?”
“Mummy is the best!”
Yan Cheng: “……”
Yan Chi: “.…..”
How aggravating!
Jealousy stirred disunity between them QAQ.
