Marrying the Soft-hearted Villain - Chapter 192
Ruan Qiuqiu tugged at his sleeve and tried very hard to make herself sound relaxed. She said each word and each sentence seriously, “They didn’t know what they were talking about. You are not a mute. You just haven’t learned how to speak human language yet.”
Even though she knew that any expression of hers would be covered up by the mask, Ruan Qiuqiu still smiled at him. “I’ll teach you.”
He understood what she was saying. He just couldn’t speak her language yet.
It was just that there was no humans or demons who were willing to teach him. There probably weren’t a lot of humans or demons who were willing to talk to him, which caused little Mr. Gray Wolf to talk less and less.
He called himself a mute seriously. His tone so casual that it no longer bothered him.
Ruan Qiuqiu, however, knew that it bothered him a lot.
If it didn’t, then Grandma Ruyi would not have referred to this as one of big Mr. Gray Wolf’s sad memories.
Ruan Qiuqiu had yet to figure out how to leave big Mr. Gray Wolf’s memory world or how to broach the subject of this wolf’s future.
The only saving grace was that Grandma Ruyi had mentioned that it was not dangerous to be in dreams like this and the time in the dreams did not pass the same way as it was in the outside world.
Grandma Ruyi had her spent more time chatting with Yuan Jue. Now that she had inadvertently entered into his memory world, accompanying the big would whom, in his subconscious, thought of himself as a little Mr. Gray Wolf, would be just the same.
Havent’ heard anything from little Mr. Gray Wolf for a while, Ruan Qiuqiu looked up at him and noticed the strange look on the wolf.
His face was a little red. In fact, it was so red that even the blood stains from where he was cut by the rocks were barely noticeable. There were a few droplets of water on top of his dark eyelashes. She wasn’t certain if they were the snow from earlier that had been melted by his body heat.
Little Mr. Gray Wolf looked at the clean fell dress on her and, noticing his own smell, frowned. He looked somewhat distressed.
Had he known that Qiuqiu would see him like this, he would have hidden from her.
But, if he had hidden, the other demons would release their abilities. Had he released his as well, the black flames, much stronger than those pig demons would turn them all into roast pigs.
The daughter of the kind demon who had helped him before was there as well. It wasn’t easy for him to find a hiding place in the forest and, as such, he did not wish to harm any demons.
It was fine that they wouldn’t accept his herbs. Qiuqiu had him keep them at a safe place.
He was very dirty right now and needed to bathe.
In addition, he had captured a little lamb yesterday, found the herbs, and picked up some firewood.
He had enough food to last them a few days. He wouldn’t have to worry about Qiuqiu going hungry.
As much as he was thinking of himself as a little wolf cub, deep down inside, Yuan Jue was still that big wolf who liked to overthink. All Qiuqiu said was to teach him how to talk but he had already starting worrying about serious issues such as “how would the one wolf and one human survive” or “he could no longer wander around like he did when he was alone. He will need to look for a place to settle down.
The more he thought about, the more solemn he looked. His ears twitching quickly and his eyes darted around aimlessly– –
His den didn’t seem all that nice.
Right when Ruan Qiuqiu thought little Mr. Gray Wolf was going to turn her down, she heard from him an even more cautious aowu. His ears twitching, he asked shyly in his wolf tongue, “Qiuqiu, do you want to return to the cave with me?”
Ruan Qiuqiu, “… …”
She was a little touched when looking at little Mr. Gray Wolf the way he was right now. She couldn’t help but asked the question that had been bothering her for a while now. Feeling a little bratty, what she ended up saying was, “… … who is Qiuqiu?”
Little Mr. Gray Wolf gave her an indescribable look as though he was asking her why would she ask such a thing.
He wasn’t as awkward as big wolf of in his current state. He finally reached up, touched his ear, and said truthfully, “Aowu… … (you are Qiuqiu.)”
Little Mr. Gray Wolf’s eyes were burning like fire. There was a smile in his eyes, just like when big Mr. Gray Wolf were teasing her. “Aowu… … (you are this wolf’s only wife.)”
Ruan Qiuqiu’s cheeks blushed little by little. Her cheeks were already a little bit hot from the mask. Now, under little Yuan Jue’s direct and sun-like stare, a look that was several folds more open that that of the big wolf, her cheeks burned even more.
“… … Mmm.” Ruan Qiuqiu’s lips parted a little but finally she just nodded. Grabbing onto his sleeve, she couldn’t even make herself say the simple words of “It’s cold here, let’s return to the cave.”
***
Little Mr. Gray Wolf’s cave was not far from where they were but it was still a bit of a challenge for Ruan Qiuqiu with her subby little legs.
By the time they have reached another high hill, little Yuan Jue quickly pulled her under a rock wall and solemnly instructed her to wait there for hi and reassured her that he would return shortly.
Ruan Qiuqiu didn’t want to do that at first but he was very insistent so she finally waited there docilely.
It was true that little Mr. Gray Wolf did not have her wait long. He returned in less than half an hour.
He was, however, wet when he returned.
His wolf skin was already dried but his hair and tail were still a little wet. Walking in front of her, his ears bending down some, and he said, “Aowu… … (I will carry you up the mountain.)”
Ruan Qiuqiu was going to turn him down but she looked at the cliff that she might have been able to climb up in the past but definitely not now, she finally nodded in agreement.
Little Mr. Gray Wolf seemed very satisfied at her trust in him and gave her another shallow happy smile. Holding her by her hand, he put on her his back.
Little Qiuqiu, with her arms around little Mr. Gray Wolf, tried her best to remain still.
Lying on his not-too-broad back and look at his hair that still had droplets of water on it, there was a tingling sensation at the tip of her nose.
