Master Of Myths - Chapter 248
Boom!
The collision of the two caused both to be blown back, the guard took a few steps back while YuJu skidded to his blasting position
“Even while tapping into forbidden powers I can barely match up, guess your one of the few still holding up huh?”
The guard sprinted toward him with ramming motion, YuJu could only jump to the side as a direct collision with this hulk was out of the question now, his hand was actually cracked after that one punch
Seeing YuJu evade brute force collision the guard slowed down and started to approach with raised arms
He stepped closer and closer until YuJu was within striking range, then, extended his right arm slowly forward, as if readying it for a jab
And a jab he sent, using his left hand that is, but the fake did not catch YuJu off guard
“Come on, do I look like an amateur? This is such a beginner move”
It made him feel insulted that the guard thought he would only focus on the right hand or that he would not notice the incoming fist because the shoulders did not move, not to mention he was currently using the power of Pride, and this was a direct challenge to it
“Wanna play trickery? Let’s play trickery”
Rather than finishing the fight like he did with the other guard he took his time with this one, evading every fist, elbow, headbutt, shoulder ram and rare kicks thrown his way, it was as if he knew the next move before it even came, even his quicker speed wasn’t put to use as he deployed even slower one than that if the guards to play with him a bit more
“What wrong big guy? It’s like your aiming at the air”
The guard pulled back from the engagement and crouched down in a charging position, before he blasted however a few wisps of flames flew from his helmet, communicating words for the first time
“You talk too much”
Bam!
“Woah!”
Like a flash the guard was already in front of YuJu, fist slamming into that annoying face, or at least it was about to until it slid back with the punch, going out of sight as YuJu did a ninety degree bend instantaneously
The guard brought the fist downward mid striking motion but YuJu acted before him, dodging to the side and readying his own fist for retaliation against the unrelenting attacks
“Go with the flow”
He advised before both punches met once more as if the outcome would change
When they almost touched YuJu moved ever so slightly so his knuckles slammed into the guard’s
Bam!
Both arms blasted back, but not their owners, the guard only staggered while YuJu’s whole body spun, seemingly out of control, until a leg came halting on the guard’s helmet, sending the unsuspecting fellow crashing into the midst of his comrades
“Whew, told you to go with the flow”
He said mischievously while massaging his bleeding hand, his words finding meaning in the ears of others as they related it to the last moment where the guard went against the momentum of the blast while YuJu used it to his advantage
The sound of something heavy stomping was heard in the next moment as the guard jumped to his feet, taking slow steps toward YuJu once more
“Thought we were done with the lesson?”
“Couldn’t even dent me”
The guard tapped his helmet to indicate the lack of damage despite the heavy attack
“I didn’t mean to do so, merely giving you a lesson so you could uphold your honor and move aside”
“Not how it works”
The guard rushed, ignoring the nonsense and trying to land hits on this combat proficient opponent
The smile on YuJu’s face faded after realizing the guard did not have any intention of playing mock battles
“Not willing to step aside? Then you leave me no choice”
Chained scyths appeared in his hands, a deathly aura converging with him as the center, forcing the guard to a stop while all the others took a step back
“But to walk over your empty husks”
The scyths were spun in the air, a horrible pulling force came from them, the battle had yet to start and the guard already felt their life dimming ever so slowly
“STOP!”
Rumbled a commanding voice through the castle, to which YuJu casually dissipated his power, along with the disappearance of the scyths
“Finally, why is it so hard to have a talk with you?”
The words addressed the none present being that spoke, yet he seemed to have heard it as an aged sigh filtered through the surroundings, followed by a tired version of the voice from before
“Come in…”
Following the invitation, and much to their disgruntlement, the guards led YuJu and Subrina who had been watching from the sideline, through many many doorways, finally arriving before two huge doors that cracked open slowly, dust falling off signifying a long time since the being inside had guests
It was all dark when they entered, flames of many colors lightning up with each step taken, revealing one heavily decorated unique armor after the other, all the way until the two stood before a throne occupied by a crowned person, and just like every other creature in this castle, armored from head to toe
This one had a light coming out from within the armor as well, only it was a resplendent golden color, fitting well with the rest of its shiny suit
“To what may I attribute this unwelcome visit, oh relic of the dead”
“Come now, you should look at yourself before calling me that”
“I am sure you came ere pursuing more than arguments, please put forth your demands”
“Less than a demand and more of a preposition, I am here to offer you the chance to enter an alliance”
“An alliance? Would you believe High Fageroth to be in need of allies to protect itself?”
“Not at all, you are all too comfy in this grave you have dug for yourself, a perfect place to rust away until the day you lose all life”
The flames flickers, seemingly irate at the continued harsh words, but they went silent after YuJu’s next word
“It might be impenetrable, but that’s because there is nothing to gain by attacking it, the only thing occupying it are sleeping husks, incapable of moving about in fear of wasting whatever life they have left and becoming..”
Walking up to one of the armors by the side knocking on it issued the echo of an empty husk, one devoid of anything underneath
“Another truly dead relic”
