Mated to a Werecat - 11 Maxwell's Point of View
After closing Iris’s door, I walked down to the kitchen. Rosemary was washing the dishes.
“How is she?” she asked.
“Iris is well. She’s asleep,” I replied putting the dishes into the sink.
“That’s good. Where you off to?” she said.
“To the dungeons. I have unfinished business with Lucius,” I said walking to where the tunnels are that lead to the dungeons.
Going down to the dungeons, the smell of rotten flesh and dying rouges filled my nose. It was gross but you kind of get used to it after awhile. I go to the cell in the far back. Two guards are posted around it. I nod at them and they securely open the cell for me.
Inside the cell sat a chained up Lucius. He was chained to the ground by his ankles and wrists. The chains were made of silver, of course, so he couldn’t break free. Not only was he chained, but I had the guards inject him with a very small amount of wolfs bane. I walked over to him and dumped ice water on him. He jumped up, just to be pulled down and burned.
“Lucius,” I said to him.
“What do you want Maxwell,” he asked cold heartedly.
I grabbed a chair and sat in front of him.
“Lucius, what got into you man?” I asked him.
“What do u mean?” he hissed out at me.
“You know exactly what I mean. You were all overly protective of Iris when she got here. Then you screw another girl that isn’t your mate and attack your mate?!? What the hell is wrong with you? Who did you screw?” I said running my fingers through my hair in frustration.
I stared at Lucius waiting for a response. Each second that passed made me even more frustrated and impatient.
“Well?!” I said impatiently.
Lucius started laughing. Not your usual joking laugh. The mentally insane, sick in the mind type joke.
“I never wanted her as a mate. She’s weak and is a feline shifter. She’s not the mate I wanted,” Lucius said.
I looked at him in utterly disbelief. I was both shocked, pissed, and hurt. Who doesn’t want their mate? I wished I had mine, but she passed away in a rogue attack 3 years ago. Yes I’m very aware that I lied to Iris, but I didn’t want her to feel bad.
“Lucius, are you sure? Once you reject her, you won’t get her back,” I told him hoping he’ll change his mind.
“Yes I’m sure. She’s weak. Just like Lily when she was alive. I’m glad the b*tch died. she was annoying as fuck. But great in bed. I never once regretted f*cking her,” Lucius said.
By now, I was enraged. I was also very broken. I couldn’t take it anymore. I got up and punched Lucius with all my might, breaking his nose and jaw.
