The next day she prepared her ritual to contact her elders. I joined her and Rain in my chamber just moments before she started.

“Rain, I need you to be here just in case Maven is wrong. Promised me that you’ll get him out of the way, I will be fine…”

I was about to object, when I decided to backed down and let her give further instructions to Rain.

This was her domain, she needs to do this. Should anything goes wrong I would do anything I could to save her. She suddenly looked at me and told Rain to get more black chalk from the nymphs. He hesitated but she whispered something to him and he nodded.

Damn…she knows exactly, that I would put her safety above my own.

We were alone when she was in front of me. “You will save yourself before me. This is my elders, I will deal with them. I do not come down to hell to save myself. I’m doing this for you! You are mine…and I need you to do this for me.”

I did not object to her, knowing that she’s very stubborn and that was the part which I love about her.

She pulled me down and kissed me hard, I was groaning when she wrap her arms to my neck and pushed her body flat to mine.

“Yes…I’m yours…” I said in between her possessive kiss, while my hands caresses her back holding her tight in my embrace.

I would do and say anything that her heart desired.

“You will save yourself.” She backed away from her kiss, and looked into my eyes.

“As you wish my queen…” I said caressing her beautiful freckled cheeks.

She finally let go of me and told me to find Rain.

It was couple of minutes later when I was back with Rain. She was almost done with the preparation, when she told me to sit on the floor crossing my legs in front of her. Rain was standing outside the circle guarding it, making sure everything was going as planned.

Then she started to open the communication with her elders. She was in deep concentration, I could feel the different level of energy releasing from her body. Then at the same time five shapes were starting to appear around us.

They were talking in an old languange that I didn’t understand. Then she paused while she reach for my hands and put each on her thighs. I was not sure that I was contributing anything to her. But when my hand touched her skin, I could feel that she was sucking my energy. She was draining her energy fast, and was taking mine even faster.

She was still debating with her elders until she abruptly cut her communication. She was exhausted when she falls to my embrace, I wobbled a bit but managed to keep myself steady and held her in my arms. I would definitely fall if I was standing up.

Rain quickly scattered the circle, after she ended her communication with her elders.

“Shani are you okay? Rain…could you help me carry her to the bed?”

He nodded and easily pick her up, while I was struggling to get myself up from the floor.

“I will leave both of you to rest. Ranulf would want your explanation, but I will fill him in as best as I could for the time being.” Rain said to both of us, but more to Shani.

“Thank you Rain, we will join you later…” her voice was raspy as she was closing her eyes, laying her head onto my chest.

Rain left us to rest, while I pulled her closer into my arms. She sighed and snuggled in closer in my chest.

“I love you my queen…”

“I love you too…” she mumbled, and was fast asleep in my arms.

But she didn’t realize that she was still sucking my energy, and I was too weak to let her know.

It must’ve been hours later. I was feeling lethargic, while my hand was weakly trying to feel the empty space beside me.

Where is she? Why am I so weak?

“Fucking hell Rain! He should’ve warn me that I could drain him to his death…”

“Shani, you’re not killing him. Maven knows exactly how strong he is. And that he was chosen specifically by your elders to be your mate. To be the one that can take care of you…”

I could see her pacing herself, I was relieved seeing her in her normal spunky little self. I relaxed back to the bed, when my eyes were heavy once again.

I didn’t know how long has it been, when I feel her giving me something to drink. She was saying that Maven send me the drink to help me restore my energy.

“Arkael, baby…please wake up you’re making me worry…” she said while she was giving me more concoction from Maven.

“Hey…I’m up…still sleepy but I’m up…” I said a bit weak and smile at her. I could finally sit myself up to the headboard.

“I missed you, where did you go?”

“I’ve been everywhere, you’ve been sleeping for two whole days! Damn that Maven demon…if I had known that…”

“Shani…you really need to slowdown…my brain is still very slow. Come here…”

She was suddenly quiet, and sit herself next to me and let me pulled her to my chest.

“Hmm….this is nice…”

“Arkael, you need to finish your drink first. Maven said it’ll take couple of more…”

I took the drink from her hand and finish it off, she put the goblet aside for me then I pulled her back to my chest.

“Now…where were we? Wait, why didn’t Maven give me the same concoction as yours previously?”

She was looking at me smirking. “Well I also asked him that, but he said with your sexual appetite apparently it was not a good idea.”

“Well I guess he might be right, and with you being here with me right now might just prove his words.”

I took her hand and showed her my hardness. But when I was about to kiss her, there was a knock at the door.

“My king…” Sabina said lowering her head in respect.

“My queen…” Muriel said with the same respect.

“We were sent by king Ranulf should you need our assistance.” Sabina was finishing their words.

“I think we won’t be needing you right now, Shani?”

“No…not right now, but please send our thank you to king Ranulf and obviously to both of you for offering yourselves.”

She dismissed them in a very polite manner, and they were gone moments later.

“Now that I have you all to myself, let see…where do we start?” she said seductively as she gets on top of me, and straddle herself right above my hardned member making me moaned.

“Hmm…I thought so…” she giggled but then stop, when I pulled her down to the bed.

“Shani…considering my appetite, I think it’s best that I’m on top…”

She let out the most beautiful laugh making me harder.

I really have to make up for the last two days that I was out…
