Mated To The Dark Lord - 34 34. The Summoning

Shani’s POV

I was back at Maven’s for a day of summoning demons back to hell. I sighed as I feel the need to get the whole thing over and done with.

“My queen, I’ve located several and master Rain had discovered the rest…”

I looked up at Maven then scanned the surrounding, and yelp when I saw Rain standing with his book smiling at me.

“Oh my God I’ve missed you so fucking much!!” I hugged him as he lifts me up and squeeze me with his all, his eyes switch as his wolf greeted me. I grinned after kissing his cheek and ruffled his hair.

“Okay…what did I tell you about my hair.” He chuckled then let me get back down to my feet.

“Awww… welcome back and I missed you wolfie!” I hugged him one more time before Maven cleared his throat, to remind us that he was present.

“Okay six more demons, let’s do this!” I was back to my serious side, and nodded to the demon sorcerer.

I started gathering the incense and the herbs, while Rain was making the sacred circle. Maven was already chanting burning the incense and circling our summoning area.

Hours later we were down to the last two demon. We were taking a break and gathering more ingredients for the ritual.

“You looked beat Shani, why don’t we continue this tomorrow?”

I was actually exhausted and Rain had know me, he probably knows me too damn well.

“No…I really want to finish this. I’m done with my elders, I want my leverage. And what Ranulf said was absolutely right. If I get this done, they won’t mess with me.”

I was truly tired, but Maven kept on pumping me with his energy and I kept on refueling my power.

“I can do this, I’ve been doing this for days since you’ve been cuddling with that king of yours.” I smirked at him while he blushed red, starting from his neck then to his ears before it reaches his cheeks.

“Aww…Rain you are one adorable were. I love you. Now, let’s get the last two demons back to hell so I can get back home.”

“My queen, we are ready…”

Maven let me into the circle, while Rain was looking at me, watching me then  looking at Maven’s direction from time to time.

“Maven, don’t you think we should wait till tomorrow?”

“Master Rain, it is the queen’s wishes and I’m only here to assist and facilitate.”

I could hear that Rain was about to argue some more, so I start to voice the spell. Then the mists slowly appeared and the surrounding turns eerily silent, it got thicker when I chant my spell louder. Then I started burning more incense, and scatter the dead man’s ashes to lure the demon to my circle.

Moments later it finally arrived, he enter the circle and tried to grab me. But I was under a very powerful protection spell from Maven. It growled and tried to claw me several times, until Maven put his shackles that magically bound him still.

“Damn Shani, you really got some guts.”

He draped his arm to my shoulder, as I get myself out of the circle and sit down while waiting for Maven.

“I don’t know how you’re going to get the last one, you look really tired”

“I’ll get it done Rain…” I sighed and rest my back to him, smiling.

“Tell me…how are you and Ranulf?”

“He’s doing better, my wolf has start to ease up on him. Though I think its more than that.” He whispered as he pulled me closer into his arms, and I took comfort in him.

Moments later, Maven had finally placed the demon back under the watchful eyes of the guards. Then he joined us, and do a transfer of energy to me.

“When ever you’re ready my queen.”

I nooded and get away from Rain’s embrace. He was looking at me a bit worried, but I assured him otherwise.

“I’m good Rain, this is the last one.” I said smiling at him.

But I should’ve listened to Rain. He was right, I knew this on the last few seconds after the demon appeared and he managed to break through my shield. I could feel my thigh were sliced by his long swordlike nails.

“Godddd fucking damn it!!!” I yelled out in pain, my tears were falling to the intense pain.

“Shani…” I could hear Rain calling out my name on the back ground. But all I saw was the largest demon crawler who was towering above me. He growled loudly until my ears could not hear anything but the ringing sound, and eerily silence background.

Maven was struggling with the demon’s strength. And seconds later I could hear growling and crackling sounds of bones. I knew that was when Rain’s wolf came to my rescue.

There were blood gushing, skins tearing and howls of pain from the giant crawler until moments later Maven was to my side and wrap my thigh with a very large leaf, and he quickly smeared generous amount of ointment.

This was all happening, while I was hearing Rain struggling with the demon crawler. I could hear him got slice couple of times already.

“Mav…Maven…help Rain, then me…I’m… good….you’ll fix…me later…” I was struggling with my words, while hissing through the pain.

Maven nodded, and together with Rain he finally shackled the crawler.

And at that very moment the two kings emerged from the door, looking furious and shocked at the same time.

“What happened Maven?!” Ranulf demanded the demon sorcerer, as he takes the wounded wolf under his wings.

Arkael was cursing when he got to my side, I was not listening to him as the immense pain hits me. I was holding on to Arkael while muffling my screams onto his chest.

I could feel the ointment was making the wound magically stitched itself back together, it was like having your skin pierced by small needles and sewn back together stich by stich.

“Oh goddd…Maven, I need something for the pain!”

“He will give it to you baby, just hold on to me…I got you my love.” Arkael cradled me in his arms.

It was not long when Arkael gave the goblet, and told me to finish drinking the concoction. I was gagging and crying to the foul taste, while at the same time I was gripping his arm trying to get rid of the pain.

“Maven, get Sabina to my chamber and torture this crawler with thousands deaths and don’t let him die.” Arkael said sternly to Maven.

Ranulf was already carrying Rain out of Maven’s lair. He was naked in his human form already, his chest and arm were smeared by the same ointment as mine. Though the blood was still sipping from his wounds, Ranulf took him and let it stained his royal cloak.

“You gave me the freaking scare Shani, do not do that to me again.” He said as he walk and carry me back to our chamber.

Arkael finally lay me down to the bed. I didn’t know when she arrived, but Sabina was my side. Then Arkael moved to my other side, and keep on whispering his calm loving words.

It was seconds later when Sabina put her hand on my temple, and I start shaking my head.

“No…I don’t want you to feel…the…pain…” I bit my lip trying to hold the pain.

“My queen, we are nymphs demon. We have a very high tolerance to pain. Let me take it away from you?”

I looked at Arkael and he nods his head at me, and telling me to let her ease my pain.

“Okay…thank…you…” my voice was raspy from all the previous screams.

Then she smile and put her hands to my temple, and mere seconds later it was gone.

“There, you will be just fine my queen. I will leave you to rest.”

She bowed and walked out of our chamber and Arkael wrapped me in his arms.

“I love you Shani, rest now baby…”

I sighed and finally drifted off to sleep in his warm embrace.
