Max Level Newbie - Chapter 186
Chapter 186. Double Booster (3)
After his guess has been found to be true, Vulcan spent, each and every day, doing the same thing.
That was hunting, hunting, and more hunting.
Like a fish in water, he wielded his sword and used magic while at the hunting ground where the environment was similar to that of Asgarde’s.
Although the ancient gods who boasted incredible powers with levels between 1200 and 1300 attacked with their individual abilities, they could not harm Vulcan.
Having reached the understanding and risen to another level while at the temple of lightning and fire, they were only a bunch of potential experience and achievement targets for him.
Unless about 10 monsters were to attack him in a synchronized movement, there was none that posed any type of threats, at least not in that place.
Kwaaang!
Pazzz.
Shwooook.
Like the falling leaves in the fall season, the monsters which were like those of Hoculus and Honus fell to the ground and shed blood.
However, not even a single droplet of blood made contact with Vulcan.
Vulcan was quick to move towards another monster even before blood poured out of the monster’s severed body.
Looking at such scenery with blank expressions on their faces, several true demons became enraged.
It was because they were already frustrated as they weren’t gaining enough achievements due to the limited hunting space, so when this unknown, reckless daredevil showed up and started to kill the monsters at amazing speed, their frustration exploded.
Pazz.
Shwoook.
A-aaack!
The bastard dashed with incredible speed before the monster could even regenerate.
Those rare demons of the demons, which were able to control the lightning capability at free will, drew their golden swords and cut the monsters down before the other true demons could do anything, and the series of magic that followed kept coming as the other true demons were relentlessly using them in their attacks.
Kwaaaang!
The scene caused the hair on those who were watching to stand and sway.
The incredible power, sufficient enough to utterly destroy the powerful land of Naraka which was similar to that of Asgarde, was useless.
The monster has already lost its life by Vulcan’s hand.
As a result, the true demons wasted their energy without ascertaining any achievements, and Vulcan moved with incredible speed to other location as he gave a side look at them.
Pazz.
Vulcan was moving as if he was not limited to any physical world.
Several true demons exploded in anger as they watched Vulcan.
“That… Son of a bitch!”
“He’s killing all the monsters which is already insufficient in numbers!”
Several true demons gave detestable looks.
They were enraged to the point at which they would shred Vulcan and chow down his flesh, that was, only if they could do that.
However, due to the special rule and the nature of Naraka, which prohibited them from harming each other, they could only watch Vulcan do what he was doing, and were unable to interfere in his hunting.
All that they could do was to figure out where the monsters were before Vulcan found them, and try to attack one step quicker than him.
Of course, as they were below 1,400 levels, they could not compete with Vulcan in a speed competition, yet as so many true demons were competing for a monster, there were some occasions that even Vulcan would end up losing.
Vulcan has never experienced any challenges because there weren’t enough monsters.
He, too, could not help as he explode in anger, and the true demons who heard him say that began to spew out all sorts of vulgarity, indicating that the bastard who has more behaved worse.
“Krrrrack! For crying out loud, leave it so that I can level up!”
“What is that damn bastard saying!”
“Die! Just die, you XXXXX bastard!”
The situation was such that it was as if they were competing to monopolize the monsters in a virtual game.
In such a stressful environment, Vulcan diligently raised experiences and achievements, and that’s how 1 year has passed.
*******************
[You have made contact with the demon god’s statue.]
[All the acquired achievements up to this point are converting into experience.]
[Leveling Up!]
[Naraka’s money is being paid out according to the quest.]
“…..Phew. Finally raised 1 level.”
Vulcan was looking at the demon god statue which gave out and shone crimson colored energy upon him.
There, from the back, came rough vulgar talks towards him.
“Hey, if you are done with what you were supposed to do then get lost.”
“Alright, I’m leaving, you bastard.”
Vulcan, too, moved to the side after a natural outburst of vulgar reply.
Then after finding a sufficiently quiet spot, he checked the inventory, and was somewhat disappointed to find somewhat insufficient amount of money.
‘The amount wasn’t even close enough to purchase a skill book…..Is it normal since I’ve raised 1 level. Well, there is enough money to buy a map, and… I suppose the amount will increase as the level goes up higher.’
Vulcan tried his hardest to comfort himself as he turned to the convenient facility then he purchased the highest quality map by paying the NPC.
As opposed to the information on the ordinary hunting grounds which could be ascertained from the newbie helpers from everywhere in town, the map contained information on much superior hunting grounds.
He spent every penny that he had, after leveling up by 1, on purchasing the expensive map, but he had no more intention of continuing to hunt under the stressful circumstances of having all those sickening bastards around him.
‘Had it been only stress, that would be fine, but even the hunting effectiveness wasn’t very good, either…. Thanks to the fact that the achievements and experiences could be applied redundantly, the pace of leveling up as I went around the demon world wasn’t bad, yet the pace was much slower than I anticipated…. Phew, since I obtained the highest quality map possible, I should be able to hunt with more ease?’
Of course, he did not believe that he would monopolize a particular hunting ground, at all.
Although the map was on the side of being very expensive, still, it wasn’t as rare and precious as being unaffordable by the true demons which had spent much time in Naraka.
In the end, he would be able to hunt with more ease, but he was certain that the conditions did not afford him to monopolize a dungeon as he had done during his time in Asgarde.
Thinking this far, Vulcan held the map as he opened it, and hoped that there would be very small number of true demons at the place that he was heading to.
Concurrently, there came an alert as a system window appeared before his eyes.
Ring.
[A mini-map has been activated with the use of the highest quality map in Naraka.]
[The system which has successfully infiltrated Naraka is providing information to you.]
[The sacred ground of the ‘Wudang Sect’, the clandestine dungeon which has not been revealed for the past several 10 thousand years, is being marked up on the map.]
“…..!”
Vulcan had his mouth slightly opened as he was feeling impressed by the amazing capability of the system.
However, finding his composure much faster than his usual manner and time it used to take him, he thought internally.
‘It’s not even surprising, anymore. Alright, give a whole bunch more.’
Vulcan has experienced the player’s capability in this world, in Asgarde which was the world of the strong, and beyond in the likes of all kinds of demon worlds and Naraka.
As he has witnessed many extraordinary capabilities of the system during that process, he has come to reach the state in which nothing would excite him too much.
Whistling and clandestinely moving in the direction to which he has never travelled before, he arrived at the territory, marked up on the map.
The mountain was so steep that there was not even any trace of ordinary monsters which might have roamed the fields.
Having climbed up to its top, Vulcan staked his sword into the ground which the system caused it to shine in blue, and a moment later, with some vibration and by magic, the true façade of the mountain’s summit was revealed from being hidden.
[Quest initiated!]
[Hidden quest – Eliminate Jang Sambong, the boss monster ‘the original one’, who is located at the Wudang Sect’s holy ground]
[Difficulty – A Level (Demon world standard)]
[Reward – Huge amount of experience]
Eliminate Jang Sambong, the original one, the Wudang Sect’s ambassador.
* Jang Sambong, the ambassador of the ancient mysterious religious sect of Wudang, and a sword master. However, today, he is only a fallen monster. Complete the quest by defeating his mysterious swordsmanship.
[Receive additional achievements for the next 5 years as the hidden quest location has been discovered for the first time.]
[Additional achievements will be received for eliminating the boss monster for the first time.]
‘…..Since there is no limitation on the number of individuals, the true demons may be able to appear at any time.’
That was slightly disappointing, but thinking that he could not have found it without the help from the system to begin with, he did not become too resentful.
It was true that he would somehow be discovered by several true demons which busily wandered around the place, but he knew that he could keep the area to himself for a while.
With some good luck, there was also a possibility that he would never be discovered during the entire 49 years of time which would lead to the end of the quest time.
‘Even if I was discovered, they would not be too boastful about this fertile hunting ground to others, so probably don’t need to worry about it, too much. If A-level by the demon world standards…. The boss monster would be about 1,400, and ordinary monsters would be around 1,300, so the levels are just appropriate.’
“Alright, I should go.”
Vulcan was having the butterflies as he was seeing the hidden dungeon for the first time in a long while.
He walked over to the gate with the sign ‘Wudang Sect’ on it then he kicked it open and valiantly moved forward.
What welcomed him there were two masters, having the name of ‘One of Wudang’s Seven Members’, wearing uniforms and swords.
Despite the fact that they were both 1,315 level, and not having to have heard of their names through Hoculus or Honus, it was certain that they must have had acted as gods in the very ancient times.
They were former gods like those monsters which faced the terrible situations of getting murdered throughout their entire lives in Asgarde.
Vulcan showed sad expression for a while before raising his sword.
Pazzz.
Whirrrrl.
The energy of the underworld sword rose, riding the thunder of the lightning sword.
And the energy of the thunder god enwrapped Vulcan’s body.
In response to that, the members of the Wudang Seven approached Vulcan with the speed of light, and soon there permeated the deafening sound around the Wudang Sect’s region.
Chaaang!
There remained 49 years to the end of the quest.
Thanks to the stable hunting ground, Vulcan’s growth has been enhanced.
*********
[Leveling up!]
[Naraka’s money is being paid according to the quest.]
“Phew, this is tough!”
Without even thinking to place the sword into its hoister, Vulcan plopped down to the ground.
A sound of being ill escaped his mouth.
Although Vulcan has already captured Jang Sambong, the original one, for more than 50 times, the fight against him was never easy.
As if to prove the worthiness of his level of near 1,400, Jang Sambong went after Vulcan’s blood with mysterious, and yet threatening swordsmanship.
Vulcan thought of his amazing swordsmanship to be the best one that he has faced, so far.
As far as the swordsmanship, alone, was concerned, his skill was tough enough for Vulcan to admit that he, himself, was one level beneath him.
Of course, as Vulcan’s talents weren’t limited to only swordsmanship, but included thunder walk and other various magic, he was able to capture Jang Sambong in the end, yet he was truly a boss monster who did not allow for any missteps, or carelessness.
‘Well…Only through today though.’
Vulcan was lying down and resting in the boss’ room for a while.
Opening up the status window, he looked over his own level, and achievements.
His physical level was 1,337, and the accumulative achievements, so far, was 188,233,812.
As he has not yet stopped by the demon god’s statue since he has discovered the Wudang Sect’s holy ground, Vulcan was holding onto an incredible amount of achievements.
Perhaps, had he converted everything into experience and increased the level, it would have been, most likely, much easier when it came to facing Jang Sambong.
However, Vulcan did not do that.
That was because he wanted to avoid publicizing and revealing the Wudang Sect’s holy ground which he has been monopolizing.
Fortunately, not a single true demon has paid a visit here for the entire duration of the 49 years during which Vulcan has hunted.
It was truly the most optimal situation for Vulcan as he wished to not have any competition.
As such optimal situation was being maintained, Vulcan thought that he wanted to prolong it as long as he could, and in order to minimize the risk of being discovered, he began to think that it was best for him to not leave the place, at all.
However, that, too, would be the last time, today.
As the quest end time was only 5 days away from this moment, Vulcan had no more reason to stay here.
He has already reached much higher level than the ordinary monsters that he would not be able to obtain much experience as opposed to the conditions in the earlier time.
Vulcan thought as he closed the system windows which were open before his eyes.
‘Can’t level up in the next 5 days either, anyway. I can increase my level, and also get money by getting to the city before the end of the quest and converting the achievements into experience.’
Having organized his thoughts, Vulcan quickly rose up, and left the Wudang Sect’s holy ground.
And he ran towards the city at the fastest pace possible.
In fact, the distance which he had to travel wasn’t that far such that he could have easily reached the city before the end of the quest, or 5 days, but Vulcan could no longer remain patient.
For the past 50 years, the legendary level skills were glimmering in his head.
Just so that he could have them in his hands, Vulcan whipped himself so that he could travel fast, like that of a comet.
