Meeting Again - 52 Finally me
I and Robbie both stared at our son in absolute silence. I was not sure how to start explaining this situation and Robbie looked extremely conflicted. His face depicted some complicated turbulent emotions bubbling inside him. It was their first meeting yet it was also under the most weirdest and awkward circumstances that they met and I totally didn’t get the opportunity to mentally prepare Twen for this sudden shock. I was torn between telling him the entire scenario or simply pass it over for another time. The silence dragged on as we both tried to figure out from where to start explaining when I heard a cold scathing female voice,
“I never expected that you will grace us with your presence again”
My eyes turned to meet the cold green as emerald eyes of Jenny, Chef Samuel’s wife. She was a tall woman with a squarish face adorned with a curtain of shiny black hair. She had a smooth white complexion and bright sunny smile that matched her breezy personality. But at the moment she was giving off a cold aura and a smile as freezing as North Pole.
I and Jenny were aquainted since the days when Samuel had been dating her. She was a total tomboy back then. With male clothing, short bold cut hair, cigarette on her mouth and a guitar hanging on her back, she totally gave the impression of a teenage boy. It feels like a miracle that how she ended up becoming so womanly after marriage. Plus, she was 5 months pregnant.
“Jenny” I exclaimed smiling at her warmly, “How have you been?”
Her smile was still as cold as before when she replied, “Pregnant, morning sickness, mood swings, big belly, how do you think I am?” she grumbled
I laughed looking at her irritated face. Outwardly she might have changed but her attitude still remained the same. “Just few more months” I said soothingly
“Huh” she made a face looking like the old Jenny and then her eyes turned frozen again, “So, you have finally decided to stop playing hide and seek?” she asked in a icy cool voice
I laughed uncomfortably. During the days, both of them were dating, I would often meet her. She quickly grew extremely fond of me and Twen. She treated me like her own brother and Twen as her nephew. She became so attached to Twen that sometimes on her visits to Sam’s place she would completely ignore Sam and keep playing with Twen the whole time. But after they decided to move in together, I left. This made Jenny very upset. She wanted to spend more time with Twen and kept insisting on us staying but I kept refusing. I absolutely didn’t wanted to be a third wheel. This turned her overwhelming affection for me into resentment. To sooth her I asked Samuel to carry Twen back and forth so she can remain in touch with him. But she still didn’t forgive me completely.
“I never hid from you, come on” I said trying to comfort her
“Oh yeah? You think I’ll believe that when I haven’t seen your face for a year” she said crossing her arms on her chest and glaring
“I was busy! I told you”
“Lies”
“Okay now honey! Calm down! You know that so much anger is not good for your health” Sam said, as he loving wrapped his arms round Jenny who pout with ‘hmph’
Her eyes then fell on Robbie as she quietly probed him. Robbie felt the scrutinizing eyes on her and smiled at her; his most deviously charming smile making her go red all over. I threw an glare. This guy’s playboy nature would never cease. But seeing my expression, Robbie quickly adjusted his smile. Jenny too recovered and inquired,
“Uhm.. I don’t think we are familiar”
Robbie maintained a business smile while answering, “I am Robbie Walker, the CEO of Exquisite hotel chain”
Her eyes widen, astound. She spoke in slight daze, “Woah! I never knew the CEO was so young”
Robbie smiled sheepishly. Sam laughed at her reaction then he quickly went to get some snacks. Jenny settled in a seat beside me and patted Twen while making small conversation with Robbie which he answered courteously. As soon as everyone, Sam returned with some tea and snacks, settled and drank happily, until Sam dropped a bomb,
“Mr. Walker, if I maybe so bold as to enquire, what made you so anxious about Twen’s meeting with his grandfather?”
I choked on my tea and started coughing violently. Jenny immediately got me some water, patting my back. Robbie asked sounding concerned,
“Tony, are you ok?”
I could only nod. But the familiarity with which Robbie referred to me raised both the husband and wife’s eyebrow. Jenny being more sharper and outspoken one, caught on. She looked at me and then at Robbie and her eyes shone with apprehension,
“Don’t tell me…Tony…he is your bonded Alpha”
I almost choked on my water again. Sam who didn’t came to this conclusion, narrowed his eyes and looked fixedly at Robbie. Jenny was giving me an ambiguous look. I suddenly felt like being thrown into an extremely bright spotlight. I uncomfortably shifted in my place. I was just debating in my mind how to answer when Robbie suddenly said,
“Yes I am”
I, Sam and Jenny were all flabbergasted at Robbie’s such frank acceptance. Only Twen looked at our faces clueless of what had transpired.
“Robbie- what- what are-”
“Tony! I don’t wanna hide it anymore” Robbie said looking at me with determination in his eyes. Then, his eyes slowly looked at the faces of Sam and Jenny, “I am the one Tony is bonded to. And also-” his voice shook as he looked at Twen who too was looking at Robbie with innocent curiousity, “And also Twen’s father”
Twen’s eyes shook looking perturbed. I was totally at a loss for what to say. This is not how I wanted Twen introduced to Robbie but since it has already happened nothing could be changed. I hesistatingly looked at Sam and Jenny who both identically have their jaws dropped till their chest staring at Robbie. But when I turned my eyes to Twen, his expression has already changed to rage He got up and walked to Robbie. Sam, me and Jenny all of our eyes folowed him as he stood in front of Robbie and bristled angrily,
“Why did you leave my mommy and me? Do you hate us so much?”
“Twen-” I started but Robbie gestured me to stop
“Why? Mommy never said anything but I knew mommy was in pain”
I looked at Twen in shock. Since, when did my little boy became so mature.
“Daddy is sincerely sorry, Twen. I haven’t been a good daddy. I am so sorry leaving you guys” Robbie said looking very apologetic
“Liar! You are a big liar! I met grandpa and he told me that you loved me. But I don’t believe him. If you love me then why you never..never came”
“Twen, daddy really does love you! Daddy truly cares for you”
Twen’s glare got even more pronounced at this words. I saw him shaking slightly as he said in a tearful voice, “Everyone…everyone in my class say so many bad things about me and mommy. They call mommy such bad names. Why…Why was daddy not there to save mommy and me? Why daddy didn’t told them off?”
I saw Twen swaying as angry tears rolled down his cheek. I was shocked at this. Twen had never expressed the depth to which he felt vulnerable and exposed because of these incidents. Seeing the back of his small stature, expressing the anger and vulnerability he felt to Robbie, made my heart twist painfully. Did I totally fail as a parent? How could I have not known how Twen had suffered? How could I not have protected him. My hands started trembling at Twen’s words. It’s all my fault! I dared to think that as an Omega I would be able to give Twen a beautiful childhood. I looked at Robbie whose face had turned dark. He was radiating a cold angry vibe but his eyes betrayed the same pain that I felt. Robbie extended his hand and hugged Twen who started crying loudly on his arms,
“Why…hic..why you leave us?” Twen kept questioning.
“Daddy is very sorry. But daddy promises you, that from now on I would protect you and always be with you” Robbie said. I saw a mix of anger, sorrow and determination oozing from his eyes
