Meeting My Abductor Again - Chapter 18
I wake up in my old room where I had slept when I first got here, I had barely slept the whole night. When I look at the alarm clock it is 03:30am in the morning. I am too nervous to fall asleep as I keep on replaying the conversation me and Axel had a couple hours ago.
“we are getting married tomorrow” as he looked determined.
“How? why?” I had asked in disbelief.
He had given me a sarcastic look “through a wedding Talia” as he said it slowly. “we need to think this through” as I was starting to panic a bit. I couldn’t be the wife of a mafia boss, I would also be a big target. Is that what he meant when he said I was his life line.
When I turned around and I was about to plea with him, he cut me off. “You are going to sleep in your room because after all it is bad luck to see the bride before the wedding”
Then he pulled out his phone and he dialled a number, after a couple of minutes there was a knock on the door, “come in” as Axel answered. A tall guard from earlier walked in, “take Talia to her room”
“Yes sir” as he replied. I followed the guard out the room, I was beyond speechless, this nightmare I was in was never going to end.
I snapped back into my thoughts, and I tried to sleep again which proved to be fruitless. So, I decided to read one of my favourite novels.
“wake up” I open my eyes to five maids in the room. They are all staring at me, “we need to get you ready mam” I realized they were talking about me. I slowly got up and I groaned as I realized what was supposed to happen today. There was bath water and I got in, as I wanted to start bathing, the other ladies in the room took over and they started scrubbing me from head to toe. After 45 minutes I was shaved and squeaky clean, I was given a robe and I wore it.
I went to the makeup area and they started doing my make-up and my hair. When they were done I was really impressed at the outcome. Then I was lead into the room and there I saw it, my wedding gown, it was so beautiful, how I wished Mia where here to see this. She was supposed to be my maid of honour after all.
I wanted to start sobbing but one of ladies advised me against it “don’t cry mam, you will ruin your makeup” I nodded as I stifled my sob and kept it in. I wore the gown and I came out the room “you look beautiful mam”
“Thank you” I replied with a smile. I walked over to the mirror and I stared at my reflection, it was a beautiful gown indeed.
“sit here mam” I went over to the couch and I sat down. Then the one lady put the shoes on my feet. They were beautiful shoes, they were white and fluffy.
Then a tiara and veil were put on my head. My heart was hammering a lot. I was very nervous to get married. “Let’s go mam” I stood up and I followed them down the hall and then the stairs, I saw white roses all around the stairway, how beautiful it looked.
I went to stand outside the dining area where the doors were closed, the one lady handed me a bouquet of white roses. Then two ladies opened the two large doors at the same time. I found people standing and the ladies motioned for me to walk. I started walking slowly, this was my wedding day, one of the most important days of my life, I had to remember everything.
This was a moment I had to remember for life. It felt as if I was in a bit of a daze. Was I really walking down the aisle? I looked at the audience, I was met by some upset eyes, then Helena the maid whom I really liked was smiling at me. I saw Marize as she winked at me. I gave them a slight smile, but I didn’t know if they would see it through my veil.
They were rose petals on the floor and roses all around, I looked ahead through my veil and I could see Axel standing on the alter and next to him was London, his eyes flickered on to mine for a split second, he had looked awed and then sad. Then next to him was another guard, I once saw.
I looked back to Axel who watched me like a hawk, his eyes looked like they were gleaming with pride.
There was minister in the middle of the alter, I finally got to the front and Axel held his hand out for me, which I took, and he pulled me next to him.
He looked really handsome in the tux that he was wearing, it fit him so well. It was black, and his hair was slicked back. He looked dashing.
“You look beautiful Talia” as he whispered to me.
“Thank you” was all I could manage to get out, I was relieved that he and London had worked out their issues.
Everyone got seated,
“Dearly beloved” as the minister started. I was blanking out a bit through out his speech. “If anyone doesn’t want these two to marry, speak now or forever hold your peace”
“ME!” as the doors burst open.
