Memories Of The Sun - Chapter 15 CHAPTER FIFTEEN

I sit by his bed. Eyes raw, and blind. Without the reins and without the direction, he is now a ghost, fighting between life and death. “I love you ma’am…uhmm Vanessa.” How deep and meaningless his voice means now. Searing pain had ripped him off, from me, the one who desperately craved for him…who loves him too. He now belongs to the dankness.
The doctor said he would wake up by 1:00PM. It’s almost one, why isn’t he waking up. I hold his hand, giving it a tight squeeze. I kiss his forehead. Don’t leave me, Simeon. Not now please. Wake up darling… Please wake up. I love you more.
Evans was remorseful. He headed for Koboko after multiple times of coming to conclusions, that Simeon had drove him into betraying me. According to Mathew, he felt like Simeon was responsible.
“it was that bastard’s fault, Mathew… He is the reason for all of this. Me and Vanny were just fine… Everything was perfect before he screwed my woman… I just love her… And I wanted her to know that… But I messed up… She will never forgive me… She won’t… But that Simeon guy will pay.”
As he was attempting to leave, Ashanti blocked his car from leaving.
“Did you freaking do it?” she shouted from the back.
“I don’t owe you any explanation Ashanti! Leave me alone and move your freaking car.” he roared.
“Answer my freaking question first.” he got out of the car to Ashanti’s right car window.
“I said MOVE your damn car, Ashanti.…I don’t have the time, for your dramatic questions. Move it! ” Anger was vivid in his quiet voice. And in a few, he was off to Koboko.
Jonny says, when Evans reached the farm, he was unrecognizable. He didn’t say a word to anyone but headed for the woods. Simeon had been up on a tree, cutting extra branches. He hadn’t noticed the lunatic’s presence until, he heard the sound of a feller buncher. Evans was cutting down the same, exact tree, he was pruning. I told you, he is insane.
Simeon had tried to get down but he couldn’t. He had then resorted to shouting for help. By the time Jonny summoned help, Simeon had already hit himself so hard. He lay on the ground, his right arm broken, blood splashed on the leaves. His skin pale and clammy. For the first few minutes, he screamed, it was worse. Evans was seated on a trunk as a spectator, admiring his work, as Simeon passed out.
It’s been four days since the love of my life got trapped in the darkness. His complexion is ashen. All I can do is to stroke his smooth short hair… hold his hand. It barely feels enough, I want him to open his eyes. Seeing him like this, breaks me. I can only imagine the blank space behind his eyes. I sleep, and wait.
It’s 1:00PM. Get up Simeon, please wake up for me. I start singing for him, I pass my fingers on his forehead. His head is covered in bandages. I pass my middle finger on his lips… I miss you darling… When you wake up, we shall kiss a lot. Please wake up.
“Just open your eyes…” I say out loud.
“you know they are swollen.” Oh my God, he is up. I hug him tight. Oh baby! Am hurting him but I don’t care… Am sorry.
I kiss him so hard. Having to wait on someone fighting to live, is the hardest thing in life. You want them to come back to you, but it’s a probability. Looking at him, now back to me, I have a lot to tell him ….everything that has happened… Everything… While you’re were in coma, so much has happened baby….so much!
For example, Evans was imprisoned.
