Memories Of Us - Chapter 2 Her Identity? 1
Charles and Sienna ate dinner in silence. The chef prepared grilled chicken with peanuts, spinach salad with cranberries and walnuts, and strawberry juices. It was quite a simple dinner.
Charles explained before they ate, “This was your favorite menu for lunch. Well, it’s dinner now, but I just want to prepare your favorite now. You said it was a healthy combination, with a nice balance of protein and vitamin. You even requested the chef to make you this set menu at least once a week.”
“I say, you need to eat more. You were in a coma for a month so you lose a bit of weight in this past month. Look, you are just skin and bones, you are too thin,” Charles commented after they finished eating. They already moved to the living room and sat on the couch side by side. The butler already prepared two cups of Arabicas coffee, that have a rich aroma.
“Okay,” Sienna sipped her coffee leisurely, before expressing her agreement. She also thought that she was too thin. Her complexion was also pale, like a sick person. She thought for a while before she turned her head towards Charles.
“Where are my parents? Why don’t I see them until now?” she asked suddenly. Charles was silent for a moment. His eyes revealing a complex emotion.
“They were…. dead. They got into a car accident when you were still in your last year of high school,” he said with a small voice while observing Sienna’s face. Sienna was silent. She didn’t have a recollection of her parents, so she didn’t feel sad, just emptiness. “So I am an orphan.” That was the only thought that flashed in her mind.
“They were really good people,” he continued.
“You moved in to my place around a year after that. You said that you always felt sad every time you stay at your parent’s home, and you would cry for hours. I could not bear to see you being sad every day, so I asked you to stay here instead,” he said again after he saw that Sienna didn’t give a response.
“We were a really close friend. And around that time we spent every day together,” he told her with a hint of reminiscing in his eyes.
“Since when?”
“What?”
“Since when were we friends?” She asked again.
“It was the sixth grade of elementary school. We were in the same class. You were so pretty that all the boys were all over you. I used to live in the same neighborhood as you, at that time we haven’t become close, but sometimes we talked and the boys would be jealous, haha. Then we met again in middle school and we became close friend after that. I already liked you since our second grade,” he said while chuckling.
Sienna smirked. She can’t really believe one hundred percent what Charles said. Even though Charles knew that Sienna still doubting him, he didn’t mind it at all. He knew that Sienna could only believe in him sooner or later.
“Yeah right. Then, when did we start dating?”
“Well, it was a year after your stay at my place. I kept chasing after you, and we also met every day, so we eventually started dating. Oh, we were engaged around two years ago,” he explained.
Sienna’s expression turned gloomy. Charles was looking at her expression closely, when his eye involuntary twitched. What are you being unhappy for?
“I remember that you have a lot of photo albums. You could check it on the bookshelf in your room,” he reminded her kindly. Sienna only nodded her head.
“Okay, I’ll go back to my room,” she said, ready to get up. But Charles stopped her, he pulled her hand and she fell into his embrace.
“Why do you keep running away from me? Stay here longer,” he whispered in her ear. Sienna struggled to no avail, Charles hugged him too tightly.
“Release me,” she said coldly.
“No, you are my fiance, why can’t I hug you? Don’t you know that I miss you so much? I miss talking to you. You don’t know how hard it was for me when you were in a coma,” Charles kept talking and pouring all of his thought. Sienna stopped struggling. Even though she looked unaffected, she actually felt perturbed in her heart.
‘What if we really loved each other? What if all he said is true? What if I am just being unreasonable?’ In just a few seconds, all kind of thought flashed through her mind. She really can’t be sure about anything.
But she quickly disregarded this thought. No. She had to be on guard. She was like a blank slate, Charles can fill it with whatever he wished without her ever knowing the truth behind it. She needed to find out the truth before she believed in it, before she can trust Charles.
Suddenly, Sienna bite Charles’s shoulder hard. He let out a groan and loosened his hug. Sienna struggled out from his hug successfully, then stared dagger at Charles disbelieving eyes. He calmed himself in a few seconds, disregarding the blood that seeps through his white shirt.
Charles pushed Sienna, she fell to the couch with Charles pinning against her body. He gripped both of her hand and gazed at Sienna with a scorching hot gaze, as if he wanted to burn her alive.
“Is this how you want to play? You are a naughty one, aren’t you?” He said with a low voice, a lewd smile plastered on his face. Sienna can feel his hot breath brushing against her face. She felt a shiver ran down her spine, all of her hair standing on end.
“Get off.” She was really flustered and started to panic, but she didn’t want to show her weakness in front of Charles. Charles released her.
“Don’t provoke me,” he said, there was a hint of victory in his smile. Sienna was so mad she almost puked blood. Who provokes who? Suddenly she felt really exhausted as if her energy had been sucked dry. She ignored Charles and stormed to her room.
She locked her door as soon as she gets in. She was exhausted, so she took a short nap without a care. She woke up one and a half hours later, feeling refreshed.
‘Now, what should I do?’ She thought while walking around the room, checking the closet and the table. She found a laptop on the table. She tried to open it. She didn’t know how, but she intuitively knew how to use the laptop, although she could only do basic things like turning the laptop on or off, clicking here and there. She found a book and a pen, and she tried to write random things. Her writing skills, language skills, computer skills, all the skills are still there. Is it really possible for her to keep all the skills yet lose all of her memory?
She was really puzzled, “What exactly happened to me? Why did I fall into a coma? I need to investigate this one by one.”
