Memories Of Us - Chapter 3 Her Identity? 2
Sienna remembered that Charles said she saved a lot of photo albums on the bookshelf. The bookshelf was tidy and organized. The books arranged neatly, alternating between stacking horizontally and vertically. The books were all in good condition. She found many photo albums on the upper right corner of the shelf.
Sienna took one randomly and flipped open the album. On the first page of the album, she saw a girl with a slight smile on her face, her smile graceful and full of elegance. The girl was young and beautiful. Her skin was smooth, pale, and slightly pink like the color of the peach. The girl wore a cream short dress, with a flowers motive. Her hair brown, like the color of gingerbread, it hung loose over her shoulder. The girl in the picture looked really elegant, like a proud peacock. She didn’t know who it was. She flipped one more page. Still the same girl. Then it dawned on her, it was a picture of her younger self. She did not know when exactly this picture was taken. It was really weird.
She flipped a few more page, which contained her pictures on all of it. It was taken from different places: the beach, the park, the nice buildings. It looked like she loved traveling a lot. But she didn’t know where it was taken, she can’t recognize any place in the pictures. She flipped the pages until the last page. There were other people on the pictures be it a boy or a girl, all of whom she didn’t remember. Were they her best friend? She didn’t know.
She checked other albums. There was all kind of pictures in all kind of different places with all kind of different people. The albums contained her life journey from she was still a baby until she was around twenty years old. In almost all the albums, there were middle-aged couples around forty until forty-five that she suspected as her parents. They looked quite young for their age. She didn’t remember them, but she silently etched their image on her heart. They were her parents after all.
She can’t remember nor feel anything. This was somewhat made her frustrated with the loss of emotional connection to the past. She wanted to know what she was feeling in those moments of her life that were captured in the pictures. She wanted to know, but she can’t. All she could do was pieced each piece together, like doing a giant puzzle.
She heard a clicking sound coming from the door, it was a sound of a key turning in a lock. She turned around and found Charles leaning on the door frame. He had changed into chino short and a gray linen shirt. The shirt was loose, unbuttoned at the collar revealing his beautiful collarbone. He looked attractive.
“How do you get in?” Sienna frowned, slightly annoyed. Charles only showed a key that tied in a string, the master key of this house. He smiled at her triumphantly. She could even see the cheeky gleam in his eyes.
Sienna rolled her eyes, “Can I get some privacy here?”
“What? Did you forget that you always sneaked into my room at night? Why am I not allowed to come to your room in the afternoon?” He said with a straight face.
Sienna snorted, “Yes, I even forgot myself. Hmphh. Such a blatant lie. I won’t believe what you said even if you killed me.”
Charles shrugged his shoulders, “Up to you to believe in me or not.”
He walked closer to Sienna and hugged her from behind. Inching his nose to her neck, Charles breathed in her scent deeply. Her scent was intoxicating. She smelt sensual, like the smells of the beach on the island, or like the reminiscent smell of sun-warmed skin. It was addicting, he couldn’t get enough.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Sienna widened her eyes and pushed Charles away. Her heart thumped erratically. She touched her neck, she could still feel the hot breath on her neck, and the tingling sensation after.
Charles looked at her with his black eyes. His eyes were dark like the bottomless pool of darkness. It was eerily beautiful yet she could feel an unsettling coldness emanating from his eyes. She could feel the cold sweat slide down on her back.
“Nothing. I just want to smell you. You smell good, you always are,” he said with teasing smile, his eyes turned warm, with one shade lighter. It was as if the cold she saw was just her hallucinating earlier.
“Are you a dog? Would you just stop it already? It’s annoying. Don’t touch me if I don’t give you permission,” she growled angrily. She felt like Charles can’t live for a minute without annoying her to death.
“Don’t want to,” he smirked. Sienna was speechless. If she could, she really wanted to beat some senses to her past self. Why the hell would she engaged with this crazy guy? Right now she just wanted to run away, and maybe start anew on the foreign place. Or maybe she could find her friends. Maybe then she could find her memories, her past self. But she didn’t know where to start. The only clue she has was Charles.
“I can tell what you think right now. Don’t even try,” he said this calmly, but the menace in his words could be heard clearly. She stood there silently. She appeared stoic, but in fact Sienna was scared. She can’t tell what Charles thinking or what he would do at all. Like an oddball, he just did what he wanted to do without the slightest care about others.
“Hmmph don’t act as if you know me so well.”
“I do know you really well,” he stretched his hand, wrapped it around her waist, and brought her closer to him. Their chest practically glued to each other. Charles could feel her very smell was flooding his senses now.
Sienna stared at Charles impassively, in her heart she was thinking: ‘What is this guy trying to do now?’
“Now I guess I need to win your heart back,” he whispered in her ear, panting as if he was out of breath.
“You won’t ever.” She fiercely stared at Charles, wanting to drill a hole in his eyes.
He smiled, “It is just a matter of time. I could see it: you, falling in love with me.” He stroked Sienna’s cheek gently with his free hand, which Sienna’s slapped mercilessly.
“Never.” She said with a low voice, between the clenched teeth. She had not even realized what had happened when he slammed his lips to her lips. It was only for a brief moment, but it made her shocked speechless. She was so shocked she could only stare at him with widened eyes and gaping mouth.
“You will,” he smiled wantonly, confidence emanating from his eyes.
‘Evil! Truly evil!’ Sienna screamed on her head.
