Memories Of Us - Chapter 6 His Identity 2
“Baby, do you miss me?” Charles came into her room without even knocking. Now she truly regretted that she didn’t lock her room. She didn’t respond to Charles question. She just sat on the same couch, not paying the slightest attention to Charles.
‘Next time I really need to lock my room if Charles is home,’ she thought hatefully.
Charles saw that she didn’t react to his question. He could only laugh wryly and sat beside Sienna. “Why do you want to meet me as soon as I get home?”
“First of all, stop with the disgusting nickname. Secondly, could you please knock before you enter? Thirdly, I wanted to know why can’t I find my picture with you in all the albums?” She turned her head and looked at Charles with a straight face.
“Firstly, I don’t want to. Secondly, I don’t want to. Thirdly, that’s because…” He dragged her words, paused, and looked at Sienna with a strange expression. Sienna was already fuming with anger.
‘Shameless! Too shameless!’
“You burned it all,” he said. Sienna was so angry that it took her a few seconds to process the information.
“Eh? What? Why? Don’t lie to me.” Sienna frowned. What kind of nonsense is this? Why would she even burn it? This reason was something that she can’t even think about.
“I didn’t lie. It happened like this, one day you got so mad at me, then you impulsively burned all of our pictures. You even deleted all of the digital copies. You said you didn’t want to see my face anymore and even tried to leave the house.”
“No way. If I really loved you, then I should be treasuring it even if I was mad at you. No way I would burn it,” she refuted. She did not want to believe this reasoning. Charles shrugged his shoulder, “I also felt it was a pity. I guess you were simply that mad at me, I couldn’t do anything to stop you.”
“What did you do to make me that mad then?” She wrinkled her brows, thinking: ‘he must have done a really bad thing.’
“Don’t wanna tell you,” Charles answered carelessly.
‘Fuckk. I swear he will be the death of me!’ Sienna cursed him again in her heart.
“Is there really no other copy?” She gritted her teeth and still didn’t want to give up digging for more information.
“None. In the first place, we rarely took pictures together because we spent too much time together. Well, I do have a lot of collection of your picture. Oh, now I remember, I do have a few printed copies from our engagement party in my room. Want to see it?”
“No.” She flatly rejected it. She would be disgusted to death seeing her acting all lovey dovey with Charles. Even now she almost puked blood from extreme anger. Sienna completely forgot about the pictures problem now.
“Hey, what is your job?” Sienna asked after calming herself a little, she was actually curious. She thought that Charles was just a spoiled rich young master.
“Me? Now you are interested in me?” Charles raised one of his brows, a teasing smile on his handsome face.
‘The hell he got that idea from?’
Seeing that Sienna’s face already turned red from anger, he relented: “Alright, I was just kidding, I am a neurologist.”
The word didn’t ring a bell for her. She tried to recall for a bit, but nothing came to mind. She finally asked, “What does a neurologist do?”
“Studying the brain and stuff. Well, let’s not talk about this, it’s boring to talk about my work. Let’s talk about what you did today.” Charles attempted to change the topic. He didn’t really like to talk about himself.
“What, that is even more boring.” Sienna frowned, she wanted to know more about Charles, but blocked by Charles himself.
“It’s interesting for me,” Charles said smilingly. Sienna rolled her eyes. What a nonsense.
“Did I work in the past?” She failed to get more information about Charles, then she could try to get more information about herself.
“Nope.”
“Why didn’t I work?” She asked. She didn’t really believe it, she was already at the age that could work after all.
“Why would you work if you have a filthy rich boyfriend?” He spoke in a very matter-of-fact way.
“You’re so damn annoying.” Hearing this reasoning making Sienna did not know whether to laugh or cry.
“I am.” Charles smiled mischievously. Sienna ignored Charles that narcissist and walked to the door.
“Baby, where do you want to go?” Charles stood up.
“Dinner. You’re too annoying making me waste energy and got hungry,” she replied without looking back.
“Let’s eat together then.” Charles walked to her side.
Sienna ignored Charles completely during dinner. She was just focused on chewing her meal properly. After dinner, Sienna went back to her room, tailed by Charles.
“Why do you follow me? Your room is on the third floor.”
“I wanted to talk more with you, we didn’t see each other all day,” he calmly said.
“Whatever.” Sienna let Charles in. She knew that Charles will just use the master key if she didn’t let him in now. It was better to just let him in.
In the room, Sienna continued reading her book, while Charles sat beside Sienna, looking at her side profile without a word.
Sienna feeling the intense gaze on her face, finally can’t take it anymore: “Just go, why would you just sat there glaring at me?”
“Don’t want to. I love looking at your side profile, you are truly beautiful,” he said. Sienna was silent for a minute. She closed her book and looked at Charles. His eyes shone brilliantly, too beautiful to behold.
“Hey, do you love me?” She asked.
“I do.” The question seemed to come out of the blue, but he answered without a hint of hesitation.
“You love me even when I forget about you?” Sienna wasn’t convinced. She actually did not understand Charles’s action at all. She has been puzzled over this thing for a while.
“I love you, your soul, the essence that made you, you. Even if you forget everything, you are still you.” Charles stroked Sienna’s hair gently and hugged her after that.
Sienna was a little touched. Charles was the only one she ‘knows’ after all. But she didn’t let her feelings to influence her thought. She needed to be clear-headed all the time to guard against things that might harm her. But this time, she didn’t struggle and let him hugged her longer.
At this time, Charles whispered in her ear: “Baby, why don’t we go to bed now?”
‘This damn pervert!’ Sienna pushed Charles and then dragged him outside.
