Memories Unlocked - Chapter 5
Benedict Lui is known as a merciless businessman in the industry. He is quite capable and feared with many. It is because of him, Lui Corporation is now at the top of the chain.
Lui Corporation was started by the late Arthur Lui in his glorious days. Like Benedict, his father also was a capable businessman. It’s just that, soon after, Arthur passed away and leaving the teenager Benedict to manage the business alone.
The 10 years of leadership in business is not just a faade.
Benedict knew the potential of Aurora Inc. It’s just a matter of proper management and few reorganization and few reassignments and weeding the company would do the trick.
He wanted Aurora because of Madeleine. He doesn’t know but his guts telling him that Lucia and her were related. Thus, he wanted Aurora under his care.
Marvin called Benjamin. He called about the hand-over of his company.
“Yes sir. I will tell Sir Lui about this matter.” said Benjamin agreeing on the other end of the phone.
“Perhaps we could meet in person to discuss it.” suggested Marvin.
“Yes sir. I will book you on his schedule this night, 8pm.” Benjamin agreed while jotting the schedule down in his planner.
Benjamin informed Benedict.
He agreed and soon after that, they left the building and headed towards Aurora Inc.
Benjamin handed over the files of head departments to Benedict. He carefully examined each profile and think about the positions they suited the most.
Aurora Incorporated is located in the eastern part of the district.
It is like a huge airport because of the large strips than buildings.
Aurora happened to be at the center of eastern district. It was a tall building with a hundred story. Behind the building was the hangar of most private planes. It is one of their primary operations.
Benedict’s car was fast approaching towards the towering buildings. It directly gone underground where the parking located. Meanwhile, Marvin is waiting in his spacious office. He assumed that Benedict was already coming up and ordered his secretary to wait for them at the elevator door.
After a while, the elevator swung open with the two figures inside.
The secretary ushered them towards the office. Benedict rolled his wheelchair for himself while Benjamin is carrying a stack of documents.
Marvin was seating on his desk. He had a folder in his hands and slamming it on his other hand. When the door swung open, he swiftly walked towards Benedict.
“Good evening Mr.Lui.” he greeted. Benedict just nodded. “Let’s get down to business, shall we?” initiated Benedict.
“Of course.” said Marvin with a faint smile on his face. “Here. It’s the contract and deed of sales for my share.” he went straight to the point and handed over the folder he was holding.
Benedict accepted the folder and skimmed it then signed on the bottom part of the paper.
“It’s been notarized by the company’s attorney so your signature is all I need.” he added.
“Okay.” Is all he said and continued to sign the papers.
“Benjamin, hand over the documents to him.” he instructed the man beside him.
Benjamin put the stack of documents in the table. Marvin don’t know what to do but managed to ask, “What’s this?” He don’t know what to do with those stack of documents. He just assumed that he will vacate the CEO’s position after he sold his shares to him.
“It’s the reorganization plan. Execute it tomorrow.” he said in a commanding voice.
“I thought you would assume the CEO’s position after this?” Marvin asked shockingly. He don’t know what to feel and quite apalled from all of it.
“No. I just want to have the majority of shares from you. I didn’t intend to leave my company and manage yours. You will be under my command. All of these documents contained all the necessary information to salvage your company from bankruptcy.” Benedict explained.
“You will be acting on my behalf on this company. You can also manage it and make minor decisions but the majority will still be in me.” Benedict continued. As he was saying this, Benjamin handed over a contract to Marvin. He immediately opened and read it.
It was all for the goodness of Aurora, he thought. He signed the contract because he didn’t feel any wrong with it.
In actuality, Lui Corporation holds large shares on different companies. It was like a mother eagle nurturing her childern on how to fly on their own. Benedict left the management to Marvin because he saw his potential. He wanted to hone him and the rest was his personal interest. He doesn’t want Madeleine to know about his existence and helping her in the shadows. Afterall, Madeleine was also a shareholder in the company and salvaging it from bankruptcy is just another way of helping her. To erase unnecessary connections, he made it that way.
It was past 10 in the evening when they finished signing the documents. Soon after, Benedict’s party headed back towards his manor.
Meanwhile, Marvin was left in awe. He even unable to thank Benedict for his kindness. He wanted to express his gratitude towards him but when he realize it, it is not enough only with words. He promised himself that night that he will do his very best to execute his plans for the company.
