__
It was a sleepless nights for Rodora. She could not believe that her son, Leo was still alive and well. She kept thinking about the things she wanted to say to him whenever they would meet. She could not contend her excitement that was boiling inside her.
Rodora only wanted to see if her son is well and the other things were not that important. She wanted to ask him if he still hated them after all these years but she already knew the answer of it. She was hurt for her son.
Life is really unfair towards him and she felt that it was her fault. Because of her family, she was the one who caused it. She knew that living like normal should not be the one she should be dreaming but when Albert came into her world and showed her the way out, she did not hesitate to grab his arms and be in the world she’s been living now.
Rodora knew that her father is angry with her and he will not stop until one of her sons will shed blood but she knew she could do something to not let it happen.
She packed her bags and she packed Alberts belongings.
She wanted to see her own father and send Albert to the hospital while she’s gone.
That second night after Lyndon stayed, she could not sleep and she toss and turned in the bed. Albert was a light sleeper thus he was awaken by her movements.
“What’s wrong dear?” Albert’s voice rang behind her as her back was facing his.
“No-nothing dear… I just can’t sleep. You should sleep now… We have to go to the hospital for your check ups… okay?” she said smiling. Albert just nodded and went back to sleep and embraced her from behind.
She stayed awake until four in the morning and when she slept, Albert woke up and stared at her. He could not understand why he has to do check ups in the hospital when he’s perfectly fine. He got up from bed and walked downstairs.
He long noticed the restlessness of his wife and one thing that could placate her, is to make her food.
Rodora was left behind and soundly asleep while the man busied himself in the kitchen.
He rummaged the cabinets and cupboards to see things.
As he was chopping things, he lit fire in the stove and then he screamed.
Rodora was woken up by a scream downstairs and what awaited her is a total devastation.
“What happened dear?” Rodora became worried when she saw her husband not moving in the corner.
“Dear… I’m sorry… I… I…just want to cook for you… I… thought I burned the house… I’m sorry…” Albert could not help but shiver in fear while staring at the burnt section in the kitchen.
Rodora became speechless.
She could not find words to describe how she feels. She was about to get angry but then, remembering how scared her husband became, she could not do it.
“Dear…. I’m sorry… I’m so useless… I could not do things right… I….” Albert started to blame himself and Rodora was hurt because of what he had said. She closed her eyes to calm herself down. She inhaled and exhaled to wash away her boiling anger and it really helped her.
“It’s okay dear… Thank you… and you’re not useless, you know that…” Rodora patted the back of his hand.
“Really? I’m not useless? I’m still the one you love right?” Albert asked like a child that was deprived with attention.
“Of course. You will be the only one. So, let’s clean this mess alright?” Rodora stood up and tidied up her clothes. Albert followed.
The kitchen was a total wreck.
The vegetables were scattered on the table, the pans, woks got out from where she put them. There are several knives resting in the sink and in the table. There’s also flour on the floor and on the table. Some burnt dishes were thrown in the bin and some were on the pans.
The sun had already risen when they finished cleaning the kitchen. She’s preparing for Albert’s bath when the man sneakily stood behind her and surprised her.
“Ahhhh!!!” Rodora exclaimed in shock and Albert kept on laughing.
“Okay… Time for bath dear… We have to be on the hospital on time…” she said while she started to undress the man.
Albert however, grabbed her wrists and it made Rodora look at him in the eyes. Albert playfully smiled and then he poured cold water to her.
“Hahahaha….” his laughter rang inside the bathroom. He was like a child, too playful.
Rodora gasped because of the coldness of the water. She glared angrily at Albert.
She was soaking wet and the curves she had hidden all this time caught Albert’s attention.
Then he flirtatiously whistled.
Rodora could not contain her anger anymore and she fetched the shower and sprayed it over to Albert with only his pants on.
Albert wanted to pounce her and she could not avoid it so he let him be. Then they wrestled inside the bathroom because of the shower.
Albert tickled her and she bursted out on laughter.
Seeing that the woman under him laughed beautifully, he could not help himself and he kissed her.
One passionate kiss that turned Rodora’s world so after an hour of ‘wrestling’, they both walked out from the shower and got dressed.
This was the last day that Albert had seen Rodora’s smile.
