Mend My Broken Heart - 109 His Loneliness
“Sir, the ship that has been missing this month…” as she hesitatingly stated the report on her boss.
“What was the name?” Lyndon’s voice carried a great pressure when asking. He interrupted Maybell’s report as he had a bad feeling about it.
“It was the ship that you named after Madam…” Maybell drenched her back with sweat as she gradually saw how many shades of black had became of Lyndon’s face.
“Have you reported it to the authorities?” Lyndon asked while he tried to control his anger.
“Yes Sir… It was filed the moment when the ship had gone missing… It contained a lot of important shipments after all….” Maybell answered.
“Then why the hell did you not informed me?” Lyndon howled. It made Maybell shiver and feel fear.
“Sir… I have informed you all about it but it seemed that you have lost your thoughts about it.” she tried to reason out.
“So, it’s my fault after all?” Lyndon still roared.
“No … Sir… Actually, there’s an update regarding of that ship…” Maybell knew why the man suddenly became prickly and moody. It’s because Christmas is fast approaching and he might not be able to celebrate it with his family unlike the other year.
“Then get straight to the point!” Lyndon huffed with anger as he think about the gifts he had prepared for the kids and for Misha. He was so angry about it but it was all too late and the possibility of him celebrating Christmas with them is so low and he had not put any hopes for it.
As long as they are safe and sound. No matter how many Christmas, he will spend it with them.
Maybell stood rooted in front of Lyndon and did not utter any word when her boss became detached and absent mindedly looked at the stack of documents in front of him.
She felt pity for the man but then she’s in no position to pity him because she’s just a secretary even so, her heart ached for him because she knew how much Lyndon treasured his family.
Lyndon looked up after a minute of spacing out and thinking things.
“Where?”
“Sir… It was bombed by the pirates and the vessel sank near at the small island.” Maybell gathered all her courage upon saying this because she knew that her boss will fly his rage up and who knows what he will do.
She closed her eyes and prepared for his tongue-lashing words but then after a few minutes of standing in front of him, silence engulfed the entire room.
She sneaked a peek of the man’s expression but then he remained calm and collected about it.
It was the so-called ‘calm before the storm…’ so Maybell stood there like a statue waiting for his orders.
“Prepare a retrieval operation. I want to know if that’s possible…” he said while he started to flip the documents on his table and began signing it.
“Right away Sir…” Maybell said and withdrew herself from the president’s office and strutted her way to the secretarial office. She did not know why did Lyndon not get angry about it.
Then, she sat on her chair and began flipping and at the same time making calls to make the retrieval operation happen.
As Lyndon had a busy day, his mother had been a prisoner of his own grandfather without him knowing.
She was detained inside her own room.
She’s not allowed to go out nor use phone to communicate with the people from country A and country P.
The old man secured the perimeters of his own house with top notched security system as well as well-trained body guards.
Her meals were provided by the servants but it was delivered in a remote controlled robot. She had not contacted anyone from the house since her arrival.
Rodora wanted to go home and fetch Albert from the hospital before Christmas thus she has to take drastic counter measures.
She had personally seen her father and she learned about her son’s new identity thus she needed to get back home and warn Lyndon about it. She knew that Leo’s revenge will cost something great and she did not want it to happen.
They were siblings and twins to boot thus she needed to intervene and make things right as their mother. It’s the least she can do.
Before that, she needed to talk to her father again and explain some things to him. She’s not the type of woman who will just abandone her work half-way thus before leaving, she needed to talk to him once more.
She told the one that was guarding her room that she wanted to speak to her father but the it was denied.
“The Master is currently not at home and he said that he did not have any intention of meeting you.” the guard coldly said.
As she was left with no other choice, she needed to get out from here and find him personally.
“Where is he? Can you tell him that it’s important?” Rodora tried to persuade the guard but the man did not reply.
As hours had gone by, Rodora became anxious and then a brilliant idea came into her head.
