- Volume 1 Chapter 58 His Friends Have Their Own Concerns
Was It Coincidence?
Lui was alone in intensive care. There were several life support machines, according to the senior medics he was out of danger.
The academy stopped searching for the culprit when Mu Ten received news that Long Bo had left the city and transferred all his assets in another country.
The academy was not aware that there was someone else who was expelled and also that the actual conspirator was still in the academy working under their noses.
Gib was expelled, and his father publicly disowned him to save face and the reputation. Meanwhile, he was collaborating with his son at a backend. He was a father, so he couldn’t let go of someone so easily after his son had been expelled and insulted because of an orphan.
Now he had a deep grudge against Lui.
As soon as he got the news that his son had killed the student Lui, he was happy and sent his son underground for some time. Later he would decide how he should bring back his son into the same academy.
Though Mu Ten made sure to not let the news reach anyone. Yet still a few administrative members were aware, and Gib’s father also caught the story.
The administrative members only knew that the student might not survive, despite that the senior doctors were still putting their best efforts.
Long Bo called his son and told him the bad news. Now there was another problem, if Lui was saved and he recovered, then he would definitely tell what happened and who it was that tortured him. The academy and the Dean are not simple-minded, they would immediately understand who could have given warning to the enemy to leave the place before security and the police squad reach there. As soon as they understand, he would be doomed by the next moment.
He has to do something before Lui recovered. He planned for him to never improve as this was the only way to save his job, his reputation and face.
He was also worried for his son. What would happen if the police squad found him after the victim pointed out the culprit?
He was sitting in his office, the charm of his seductive robot lost its appeal. He was racking his brain as to how he should get rid of this student called Lui.
The matter of how the fifteen disciples drowned in the middle of the ocean was yet to be disclosed.
Lui was not someone with ordinary background, he was the fourth son of sect master and respected magician of the whole Seven Realms. Lui’s father was dejected to see that his son was careless and not willing to learn about magic and witch-hunting. He just appointed his masters in learning too. The decision was not simple. It could have proved fatal, but the actual decision was made by the sect master, so no one objected.
Now he can’t return back. He has to learn to live in this world, face his enemies, and so on, his father could only wish for progress in his behaviour and learning.
It was also a sort of punishment that the enemy reached the same place, for his father, it was the last resort to teach his son how to be responsible.
But
If everything had gone with the same plans, then humans must be considered exceptional in all ways. It turned out a little messy because the enemy of the sect master caught this decision, and he was searching for some methods to reach the same place where the son of the sect master was living now.
Three of his friends were tired after studying aimlessly. They didn’t want to study at all. They also didn’t want to abandon their friend because, with every passing day, Lui was making enemies. It could also harm them being his friends, so it was better to leave his side as soon as possible before Lui’s enemies started to recognize them as well.
“You sure about your decision?” one of them threw aside the digital device for reading, he straightened his back to rest a little.
“What else? I cannot wait until when I’m surrounded by enemies, no offence, because of Lui,” he shrugged his shoulders.
“But you were the one always hanging around him when Lui had all privileges of being the son of the sect master?” he shook his head; he was not surprised though because he was thinking the same.
“I would choose to live alone rather than to have a friend who is a troublemaker. I have my own conscience, why would I bet my life and peace for his sake?” he questioned the other instead.
“I understand now, you wanted to live harmlessly. But if we left the academy then we will have to earn for our living else we might starve to death.” He also wanted to abandon the academy, but the problem was how he would be able to fill his stomach and how he would get shelter. Living in the academy provided them with every facility in the name of study grants.
His friend laughed, “You don’t need to worry, I have found a small job, and they are giving a small residence too.” ‘I can move there!” he announced, shrugging his shoulders happily.
The other one crimped his brows, “Can you find a job for me too?” he inquired. If this useless buddy can get a job and residence without studying hard, then he should also consider abandoning the academy.
They cannot remain masked as geniuses. Right after the exams, they would be exposed, and the present privileges would be taken back from them before this happens they were thinking to leave the academy on their own.
“Certainly. After we leave the academy, we will come and visit Lui and the others once in a while,” he spoke happily.
“No need, if he keeps his shrewd behavior, I won’t visit him ever again,” the other waved his hand and stood up. He was going to see the third one who must still be reading frantically to pass the exam.
