Microtech: Academy Of Idiots - Volume 1 Chapter 69 What Is In Your Head?
What is in Your Head?
While Renren kept eyes on both friends, he received a call from Tian. He was somewhat irritated. His acceptance of Tian’s offer did not make him Tian’s gesture dog placed on a leash.
He didn’t like the fact that Tian had called him twice already in just an hour to check up on things. What exactly is wrong with him? He ignored the call. It was against his nature to feel excited about taking orders from others. He had a thing against those in authority. He preferred to give the orders.
He accepted the offer because this way, he would get a considerable amount for carrying out a task he already thought to execute. He fell in the ocean and died when he was already mature just like the others. So it wasn’t the case of Tian coaxing him into doing something he didn’t want to do.
Tian looked at the connection device. He couldn’t believe that someone, not just anyone but a child, ignored his call.
“Who is he? Get ready, I’m going to personally see him,” he declared to his assistant.
It was a necessary step because, in his opinion, the child in question was immature. As soon as he reckoned he would get a lot of money, he recklessly decided to kill Lui.
Wouldn’t it bring trouble for him as well?
Just before Renren could act according to his plan, Tian came from behind and stopped him. “You’re a child after all,” Tian scolded Renren as he shook his head.
If Tian was a little late, then he might not have been able to endure or cleanse himself of this regret his entire life- just sitting in jail and cursing at his decision.
This child was so eager to kill his friend, Lui. He completely ignored the fact that he might implicate a wealthy and influential business person. “Tell me, you were about to do it?” he grabbed him from the shoulder and questioned him.
Renren was angry. How can a random man threaten him? He thought to himself. What does he think of himself? How dare he? Renren kept pondering.
“What nonsense you are speaking? Aren’t you the one who offered me money?” he bluntly retorted not budging on his stance.
Tian was alarmed. This child was not someone to handle in anger, so he switched to a calmer tone. “I’m only here to tell you that if you had killed Lui this way, officers would not spare his friends and strictly investigate the matter with utmost priority,”
Renren looked straight in his eyes, “in my opinion, they would only blame some invisible enemy who might have kidnapped him before.”
Tian was more alarmed now, but he didn’t allow his emotions to get the best of him. So he kept his composure.
“You are quite smart, but this smartness needs a foolproof plan to follow through,” he expressed and patted Renren’s shoulder chuckling.
They slightly moved towards a corner of the building so Lui and Ni Chen wouldn’t spot them. They were sitting inside the security van.
“So what is your plan?” Renren asked spluttered.
“We should find a safe place to talk,” Tian was worried that if anyone spotted him with the boy, things could get ugly for him. He wouldn’t be able to explain his way out of it.
This boy seemed unbothered when he should be. The circ.u.mstances has already given him a golden chance to implicate others. Why plunder this opportunity?
From the Renren’s tone to behaviour, Tian could deduce that the boy had already been planning to kill Lui. Renren followed Tian, he was sure that the man had no hidden agenda towards him.
Lui and Ni Chen happened to see both Renren and Tian. They didn’t stop to ask questions, instead they feigned ignorance as though they didn’t see them.
The security controller sent the genius student home safely and waited until the personal security assistant assigned the student got there.
“Do you want us to report this matter to the administration?” the security controller asked the student.
He was well aquatinted with all the friends of this student and happened to have noticed the situation too.
“There will be no need for that. I will ask my friend why Tian was bothering him. If it turns out to be a serious threat, then I will let the Academy administration know,” he replied the controller. He couldn’t be bothering the administration with little matters as this. He should tend to the matter himself. Being independent was better than to ask favours every now and then.
The security controller understood his intentions and kept it to himself. Toto was on his way to reach the assigned destination he was being moved to.
The young student followed the security controller’s words on Toto getting to him. If it’s severely destroyed, the student told him that he would request for the administration to primarily invest on this security robot and send it back for work in the factory. It was great because if no one has commissioned its repair cost, then the owners might have dumped it thinking that the machine and the technology had grown old with time.
It would have been torn into pieces, and the pieces might have been used in several operations. It was designed with AI and to some extent ML (machine learning).
“You seem to care so much about Toto,” Ni Chen stated chuckling.
“And you seem jealous? Why do you think I care about everyone else but you?” Lui turned and asked as he flattened himself on the couch. Lui couldn’t believe that a girl could create suspicion in his friend that others don’t care about him only she does.
“Ni Chen, you are my friend, and we both know each other very well. If you’re surrounded by enemies, and there is no one to support, I will be there and support no matter what. Even if I’m the only one left on your side and the whole world turned your enemy,” Lui assured him with a pat on his shoulder.
“I know you Lui, and you know me as well. I can render my life for this friendship as well, but there is something you don’t know yet,” Ni Chen replied grimly.
After witnessing Renren standing side by side with Tian, it was his responsibility to tell Lui about their other two friends. If he kept his friend in the dark about it, then it wouldn’t be right.
Lui shouldn’t remain oblivious about the turn of events and especially with his newfound priorities.
“You look sad?” Lui asked visibly puzzled at Ni Chen’s change in mood.
